Ditto. I've been burned by no-namers too often.

Drooler (Disabled) I tend to go with what I know, but I also know that it might not even matter. I've had good experiences with billing schemes that looked risky, and I've been burned by the theretofore "tried and true."

Anybody remember iBill? They were a third party billing co. that did LOTS of work for a number of sites, including 21st Sextury sites such as PixAndVideo. But then things started to go terribly wrong somehow for content providers and end users alike.

The moral is simply this: There is no sure thing. That's been my experience, again and again.

elephant (0) I do my research if I can beforehand if it's one I've never heard of, I prefer epoch these days over ccbill.

otoh (0) To a point; I'll feel more comfortable if it's CCBill or Epoch. If it's something else, then it depends how unique the material is as to whether I'll chance it.

Capn (0) I am not obsessive about it, but I a happiest with Epoch.

I always try to avoid CCBill on principle, but that can be awkward.

Marcus (0) Most of the sites I join are either CCBill or Epoch, a few are Verotel or whatever they're called nowadays, but not often do I not recognise the biller.

gaypornolover (0) Yes absolutely. I won't join a site which doesn't use an independent biller that I recognise and trust - I simply don't trust a site which isn't prepared to do so.

It's frustrating because there's some great-looking sites out there that do their own billing and I am sure the majority are trustworthy, but I don't know which ones and I'm not prepared to take the risk.

I know it might seem obsessive but I've suffered bank fraud twice and whilst I got my money refunded both times, it's made me paranoid. The whole process is a real hassle and very stressful.

Ideally my favourite processor is Verotel, as I've found them the most helpful when I've needed support.

I will also use CCBill, but I find their support less helpful - often dismissive and slightly sarcastic - and of course CCBill offer regional pricing which I hate.

I haven't yet used any other billers, but I'd use Epoch as I've heard them mentioned favourably on here.

Any others people can confirm are safe?

Denner (0) Of course billing co. means a lot... never reluctant when it's CCBill or Epoch...never been cheated there.
But a lot more cautious when it comes some paysites own billing system..
Still: For all - get rid of the regional pricing!

pat362 (0) I picked not really because I've never had one problem with any of the cc processor I used and I've used most of them.

slategrey (0) Very much, Only had one problem with a payment processor but it was eventually resolved after 2 e-mails. I will never join a site that has a cc processor with several bad reviews.

Claypaws (Suspended) I will not join a site that does its own billing or uses an obscure agent. Though I am happy with all the Karups sites. They do their own billing but I have been joining them since before I knew about good and bad billers. Karups are 100% trustworthy.

Apart from them, it has to be CCBill, Epoch or Segpay. I will accept NetBilling if I have a strong reason to trust the site. I have no experience of Verotel, have never encountered a site that uses them and would therefore have avoided them if it were not for recommendations from fellow users.

rearadmiral (0) It isn't a deal-breaker for me, but I definitely prefer a known and reputable biller.

Gasperdian (Suspended) Yea, especially those that have some surreptitious offers which you can't escape or those that tag you onto unwanted & unsolicited offers. I don't want to take names but this is especially so with Payment Processor types based in Malta, Cyprus, Gibraltar & probably Turkey

hodayathink (0) Almost never. It would have to be a payment processor with a notorious history of not letting people access the sites they paid for. If I head one is slightly shady with things like extra charges, I may still join, but use a pre-paid credit card to do so.

Cybertoad (Disabled) There are payment processes that have fees, I have heard even hidden in the small print.
The sites that accept pre-paid card seem the worse as you often have no idea in some cases and reversing a charge well. Forget about it.
The most trusted and reliable service for me is CCbill.
Never had an issue

tangub (0) I wouldn't normally join a site if they don't use a recognised billing processor. If I had any doubts and I really wanted to join I would only use my prepaid credit card.

RagingBuddhist (Disabled) Like Claypaws, there are a couple of sites I'll join that do their own billing but, for the most part, if it's not CCBill or Epoch, I won't take the plunge.

nineinch (0) I would like the payment processor sites to have the same kind of site review listings that the porn sites do. I suppose there might be legal issues, but it would help us compare.

RustyJ (Suspended) I'd like them to have a separate one. And one that doesn't support regional pricing. So yes, somewhat. Names like CCBill and Epoch make me feel the safest. I can still join sites with their own biller like Fame sites EvilAngel and so.

Ambition (0) Yes, Epoch has saved my ass a few times, I am very happy with their support. If I'm not sure if a site is trustworthy but has Epoch as billing company, I know I would easily get a refund if it isn't. I do trust CCBill, but I don't like their USD/EUR-conversion. I used to trust Verotel and I always liked their support but I didn't join any Verotel site since they opened an office in my hometown.
