Do you remember the first porn pay site you joined? For me it was Adult Check, which I joined about 13 or 14 years ago. I stayed a member for several years. I started with them when I had a dial-up connection, which worked reasonably well because at the time they were pretty much only pics or very small videos. I see they're still around, and they appear to work on the same principle of being a clearing house for a lot of other smaller sites. Anyone else remember their first? | |

It was called Ultimate Asian. Cost $9.95 for a year. That was 10 years ago. After a few months, there were others: Sung Hee Lee, Deanna Brooks, Mac&Bumble, Danni.com, Digital Dreamgirls (as it was then called), etc. all in 2001 or 2002. The first one with hardcore content was Suze.net, in 2002. I didn't even bother with videos in those days. Had dialup. Things sure have improved, overall at least. First trying to learn computer basics on the DOS system proved to be a monumental desaster -- almost turning me off computers completely; Then, thankfully, along came Microsoft Windows. Had my first computer set up in the late '90s (didn't know a kb from a mb, and too afraid to do any exploring lest the damned tower might explode). Of The few tips left to me by a helpful technician, the one that stuck was "don't be so scared of it, Over time things will come to you and you'll gather more confidence. He was right. Finally, I'd found an escape from renting and buying porn locally and via snail-mail.... and through the only medium available at the time, a dial-up with CompuServe began my adventure on the Internet.... an' what a ride it's been, especially with the onset of Cable. Guba (later becoming Skin Video) was my first launch into a porn pay-sight, to which I've maintained membership to this day. Later came Video Box, which, along with the others over the years, fell by the wayside. For me it was Teen Flood as the first and I had collected a few mags by Club International that I loved but I had bought my first PC and got on the net and discovered there were sites online that you could join. Dunno why I chose Teen Flood first but it was amazing to be able to look at so many. Next I then discovered the Lightspeed Network and the wonderful Jordan Capri. I joined an I believe now defunct site called Ultrateen or something of the sort as my first site like 10 years ago, they used the trial-can't cancel scam to suck me into a month, which pretty much turned me off to member sites for a while, especially since I was on a limited budget in college. Like elephant the next site I joined, years later, was a Lightspeed site, I don't remember if it was Jordan Capri or Tawnee Stone, but one or the other. I joined my first site back in 2003 just as i got my first 512k broadband connection. The site was one of those arty softcore Russian/Ukranian sites called Nasty Virgins and is not around any more but i still have the entire photo collection from that site stashed away on an external HD and i see some of the old sets from that site are still recycled over and over again as new updates at Pretty Virgins. That was closely followed by Crush Photo and Glamour.CZ a mostly non nude site which i joined for the sets of a young Monika Vesela who was one of my first favorite internet models and still remains one of my favorites to this day. | |

For me it was Twistys, I am not 100% sure of when it was but I am thinking 2005. Before that it was a lot of TGPs. That kinda spoiled me and free stuff just did not do it any more. I joined Private Gold way back in the late 90's when broadband was a pipe-dream: max speed was 14.4K dial-up modems which where available at the time. Before that my porn collection came from newsgroup postings of photo-sets from various sources, including Private and that's how I ended up joining Private Gold - great quality pics but you couldn't download them as zipped sets and so I wrote a program that would download all the images linked from a page of thumbnails, otherwise I would spend ages downloading them. | |

I had talked about the first site I joined in a poll a few years ago, but never can remember the name of it. Would have been the earlier part of the 2000s. It was a solo tease model that advertised "See me nude inside". So I joined and when inside I did see her nude but it was in a bathtub with bubbles covering the parts I wanted to see. The reason I originally started an adult site (A Measure of Curiosity) all those years ago was because I could never find a site dedicated to women stripping. It was the old problem that the stripping was skipped and content went straight to sex etc. Back then it felt like I was the only person who valued the actual act of removing clothing. Maybe if you concentrated a bit more on a prolonged strip, Ed. The Cap'n peaked my interest with his review yesterday and I took a tour of your site. What I found, generally, was the same sort of strip I will get in many other sites as well: Everyday clothes with a bra and panties underneath and that's it. I think I saw 4 sets altogether where the model wore more than that (garter belt and stockings, stay-up hose). There are some British sites that are excellent when it comes to stripping, Village Ladies / Village Vixen being two of them. Their technical quality is horrible, many of their models are not all that appealing that's why I would never subscribe, but if someone could build a similar but high quality site with nice models like yours I really think they could corner the market in "stripping!" Another good example of women doing the stripping right is found in Southern Charms. Here again most of the British ladies outshine the others because they have the tease down perfect. Look at some of the samples under Camilla (one of my favorites) if you are so inclined and have the time. Trouble is that SC is a collection of solo sites and that many (if not all?) of their models have non-zipped picture sets something that stops me from ever re-subscribing to any of their sites, favorite or not. Just a thought, and as always, I don't necessarily represent the majority opinion. Just reacting to your remark! Hope you don't mind!  P.S. In my usenet days I also came across another two models, one called herself the English Lady the other's name was Sarah, both did the strip tease perfectly. This still embarrasses me greatly. My very first pay site was Abby Winters and I was so impressed and elated about the quality that I sent a rave email to the webmaster who suggested that maybe I should share my enthusiasm with you folks at PU so that you too would know how people felt about her (his) site. In my naivety I made a gushing comment which was mistaken as "shilling for the site" and I've lived with a non-confidence vote ever since! You are so right! Trouble is I have no idea how to grow a thicker skin. Ah well, it's not as if the no trust vote is bugging me on a daily basis. I simply wonder on and off what in my comments or reviews made someone decide I couldn't be trusted. So during my years with PU I have been baffled in connection with this rather than hurt. And with the no trust vote being anonymous and I am only guessing that it must have been in connection with my AW comment. Could have been anything, I suppose. Sometimes someone just doesn't like you or your style. PS. After that last paragraph I just went back for the first time since I got the no trust and found that it was in connection with a review, months after my AW comment. No mention which review he found "not good" .. I think a couple of pointers would have been helpful. But I am glad that that no one thought I was a shill, so that helps. I don't really know how one can learn to grow a thicker skin. I used to be a lot more sensitive when I was younger, but I got enough pounding over the years that the thickening process just took care of itself. It's like a callous. With enough abuse, the skin responds defensively until you just don't feel the pain any more. So Messmer, what you really needed were MORE no trust votes! LOL But that one you got was kinda of funny. What was the comment, "not a good revue"? What, were you supposed to travel North America, with key stops in Vegas and Atlantic City, with an entourage performing Doo Wop hits or something? My first site was Sexybabes.tv back in 02, I think. I hesitated for a long time because I was so sure signing up for a porn site would make me go blind or wipe out my 'puter or something else really bad. I think it was Karups in 2001 or so. Mostly images because even with DSL, videos were like watching grass grow, and hard drives were expensive. Then a few years later Teen Dreams, some good stuff but painful to navigate. Then Simonscan and Inthecrack. Absolutely amazing photography, but soft. Many others since then but most didn't match the anticipation. There have been some thet were good and very good, but even with a 2-5mbps cable modem, spending time on the site is excrutiating because of the DL speeds. I've never watched a full vid on-line, only clips. I'll spend a month or two downloading and then view over the next year or so. Hard drives are cheaper, 10 cents per gig. I am now logged on to megateenworld. some good stuff but the dowmloads are under 200kbps. Streaming vid is useless. I download 8 vids and go to bed. eight more in the morning then I leave for the day. Again in the afternoon. My puter hasnt been turned off in 5 days and only 52 gigs to show for it. Someone should tell these sitemasters that there are faster servers available. Sorry for the rant, but I do feel better unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck. | |
