What do other users think of photos of a model shot in such a way that they seem to be from the perspective of a tiny person looking up at her? You know, Tom Thumb.

In The Crack regularly features these kinds of shots, but a few other sites also have them at times. ATK Galleria comes to mind.

It's true that you often get a good view of the crotch area, though above that it's just a murky cloud that resembles the model's face.

Personally, I don't care much for them. It's no big deal to me, but sometimes I just pitch them into the dust bin.

Yet they must be appealing to at least some folks. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

And, yes, we are already a good ways down the proverbial road to hell in terms of lost privacy.

What gives me pause though is that all this info is being collected without any overarching rules other than "cash is king", meaning you don't know who or what is happening with your info. More importantly, as computer alogorithms and processors get better this info can lead to a very complete picture of who you are. Maybe not today but that future is very near. Frankly, without knowing who might get access to "me" and how that info will be used I am concerned.

I'm not trying to make a purely ideological stand. I know that we are all going to be more public as time goes by, there's no way around that unless you suddenly go full on Amish with your lifestyle. Nor do I trust that government regulation will solve much (lawyers and lobbyists get paid to take care of that). I guess my point is why make it easy for them when you don't know what your getting in return. Yeah, I get access to the web but does that mean I have to surrender all my on-line activity information to some corporate behemouth? I want some something more than what I'm currently getting before I'll give it all up for capitalism.

Here's the kind of scenario that bugs me, and it's not implausible. A profile of you is built based on your web surfing (include computers, smart phones, etc.) -- everything you type and everything you text and possibly everything you say along with what you browse.

Your profile is among the eventual billions that will be up for sale to whomever is interested.

To make it easier to trove your data, key words are searched for and a corpus of how you put those words into context is created. Red flags are displayed next to the juicy bits.

This information, if found not to the liking of a health insurer, a prospective employer, etc. is then used to deny you coverage, deny you a job, deny you a promotion, deny you credit, deny you a discount, etc. It could sometimes even be used as a flimsy pretext for denying people such things as specific medical procedures or mortgage interest rates. Sure, there may be no relationship between what you said and what you need, but it will be up to you -- little, solitary you -- to fight and win in this overwhelming system of data collection and abuse.

That's the kind of thing that bothers me. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Edited on Mar 02, 2012, 03:15pm

I don't like tats. I don't know how many times I've seen a nice looking thumbnail of a babe in a rather subtly lit place who, when brought to full size, had some ugly-ass tattoo over or even ON her ass.

Then I go I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Seems that fake is the "new real" for some. It doesn't have to be for those who don't like it. I don't like false titties either. Go ahead and vote as you wish. I mean, if they're guilt free about pushing the silicone monsters at you (cue scene from Woody Allen's Everything You Always Wanted ...), be just as guilt free about screaming "NO!" with your 1's and 2's. Yes, you'll get a lot of pics that are similar as there are so many. The basic ALS "narrative" is the girl slowly undressing, perhaps occasionally pausing to play with a sex toy along the way, sometimes with a female assistant, then getting more naked and until completely naked and then there's more assistant stuff with another "toy."

It includes pics of the girl looking away, looking, down, sometimes laughing, speaking to people off camera, giving the finger, etc. They're very candid shots at certain points.

The assistants are often hot models, too, such as Eufrat and Blue Angel, just to name a couple of the more recent ones. And they are also featured models at the site.

Hope this helps. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Actually, I find it obnoxious when a site uses playmate-style names. Pier999 did this, though looking back through their model list now, it seems they've changed a lot of the names back to the more recognizable ones. Anyway, names like "Veronica Maplehurst" and "Gloria Drake" are the linguistic equivalent of "Did I just eat something?" fast food.

Another annoying practice that is far more pervasive goes something like this:
What's her first name?
Kristina.
What color is her hair?
Blond.
OK. Kristina Blond, then.

Finally, some names are just used so much that for a long-term porn collector, you wind up with quite of lot of brush (if you'll pardon the expression) to wade through. I've got so many Ann's, Anne's, Niki's, Nikki's, Nicky's, Veronica's, Veronika's, Veroniyka's, and Verronnikya's that I need a friggin' telescope to find the damn vanishing point.

Oh, I have a postscript: Girls named X XXXX. You know, like Veronika XXX, or Kelly Foxxx or Nikkii SeXxX. Boy, now that's a cliche that deserves a speedy retirement! Quick! The gold watch! I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

1980 - The beginning of deregulation and the redistribution of wealth upwards through the disproven farce of Reaganomics, aka voodoo economics or trickle down which laid the ground work for corporate control and 'Citizens United' (or as it should be called 'Corporations First'). Trickle down never worked as they said it would (mainly because wealth doesn't trickle down, it really flows up), it worked as they really expected and intended, to strengthen corporate power, and to merge corporation and state. So I don't see myself as liberal, I just feel like an unwilling participant in a anal porn flick.

Yes, that Stephanie (plus you name it) has been a real pain in the name-it for me, too.

Today, I just realized that Edwige A of MetArt has been Anna Tatu; yesterday, that Alsu of Amour Angels has for some time now been Irina B at MetArt.

Well, that "Edwige" name had to go,anyway. That speaks for itself. And I've got more Irinas than Kiev, probably. Alsu has a nice sound to it.

Perhaps what we need for these girls' names is the equivalent of domain name resolution. You know, a nice fat and expanding table sitting around at multiple points along the Internet, so when some damn new website calls her "Cindy" or "Hope," she'll always show up on your hard drive as "Klaudia."

Call it "De Damn Name Resolution." I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Edited on Feb 16, 2012, 04:50pm

I look at some of the old, old tiny grainy pics that I got and think, "What was I thinking?"

But that train of thought goes off the rails when I find old pics I got from ATK archives, years back, of Holly Samson as she was all-natural. You know a girl is stunning when it comes through even in old, funky quality pics.

Yeah, some of my collection I'll throw away, and some are on the hard drive of an old computer that I still haven't thrown away, and some (as above-mentioned) I'll probably keep 'til my hands are trembling too much with age to do anything about it. I've had a few calls made to me over the years or things related. Once I suddenly couldn't use a card and had to pluck out another to cover something; soon called Company A and they'd suspended transactions over an online (porn) purchase attempt I'd made. But we got it straightened out quickly.

I'm in agreement that I'd much rather have a security-conscious credit card company than one that lets things go. I once had a card with one of the name banks and was getting small unauthorized charges. Called and they said it was nothing surprising, happens all the time, and I then decided to just cancel the card, which they agreed to do over the phone, after the perfunctory stalling tactics and me being absolutely insistent.

Then I get even more fucking little charges AFTER that and the bank puts a dispute on my credit report. So I just waited that one out, figuring that attempting to work with them might lead to more trouble.

Fucking morons. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Edited on Feb 05, 2012, 10:12am

The Super Bowl isn't quite as in trouble as the Thanksgiving family dinner, but it has lost its luster now that it has become a tired old Big Business institution. It's not really even about the game; it's about money. The media is trying to generate excitement and interest, as usual, for us braying little sheep who need it to tell us what to do.

I'll think that once the pre-game show starts, I'll switch off the tube and spend my time reviewing my personal accounts, just to keep with the spirit of things. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

During WWII, to root out resistance fighters in Marseilles, France, the SS razed about 1,400 structures to the ground. Anyone else who just happened to be in the way was, to put it mildly, most unfortunate.

And most unfortunate are those using Megaupload within the confines of the law who got caught in the same mass detonation. Justice should be a little more selective. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

My experience when I was a member a few short months ago was that there was stuff I'd not seen anywhere else, and was delighted to find, and there was also stuff from other places.

Usually the non-exclusive stuff was of American girls, though I did find an exception with one of Alissa White/Yaro/or is that Alyssa. I mean that blond girl with the soft eyes and puckery kissy lips who has appeared at MPL Studios, Watch4Beauty, and several other sites.

Partial Digression: One big red flag on this issue I'd found -- while we're on the subject -- was some of the APD Nudes material showing up at Twistys.

Anyway, we should protest when a site claims to be exclusive and it's not.

But the thing about the Diesel Access "network" that bothered me the most was how inconsistent they were about photo sizes. They'd label a zip download as a particular size (photo dimensions) and it would sometimes turn out to be smaller.

And from one photoset to the next, there's no consistency in the offerings. Sometimes you get 4000 pixels, sometimes only 1500 pixels, etc. and that's the recent stuff. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

It's always a bit of a balancing trick trying to get the display issues, aesthetics, quality and usability right when designing a website's page layout - making the thumbnails big enough to see clearly whilst getting enough on view to give a quick idea of the whole set and leaving room to display other updates too. It's something I usually end up tweaking every few months.

I was looking through the sites I'm subscribed to right now and was struck by how difficult it was to view some thumbnail photos. It's especially hard when the subject takes up only about 50% of the shot AND the thumbnails themselves are really too small and I find myself squinting.

I don't have that problem with MPL Studios or the ATK Galleria or Premium sites (though I sure do with ATK Petites, which has smaller thumbnails).

The solution I propose is simply this: Make the thumbnails 200 pixels on the long end (200px tall for portrait orientation, 200px wide for landscape). This is the size used by the above-mentioned sites that aren't a problem.

So webmasters everywhere: Please make your thumbnail photos large enough for easy viewing. It would be most appreciated! I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I've also felt robbed by sites that do this. If they'd simply label such videos as "BTS," then I wouldn't have anything to gripe about.

I don't know which is worse, general silence but lots of camera flashing, which I at least used to see in hardcore videos at Earl Miller, or lots of talking.

A long time ago, I found a bunch of videos at ATK Galleria with models like Brandy Smith in which the director was talking throughout a hardcore shoot. He'd say things like "Stop. Turn a bit to the right. Keep fucking ..."

It does give you an idea of what the shoots are really like, but as I said, they should always be labeled clearly so that the paying user doesn't feel cheated.

Kind of makes one develop a greater fondness for the photoshoots that result. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Edited on Jan 04, 2012, 02:35pm

For what it's worth at this point, I'll just say that I've been in a variety of scenarios over the years in which I've been falsely accused of account sharing. Sometimes the provider itself was not secure, and that even included subscription/billing services.

Once I signed up for a site and was IMMEDIATELY suspended on grounds of account sharing, and I hadn't even logged in the first time! So that was either a hack or an inside job or some security software chanelling Chicken Little.

Fortunately, these things don't happen often, and I'm like RearAdmiral in keeping the usepass strong and the accounts mine and mine alone.

But it just goes to show you that no matter what you do, there's at least a slight chance that you'll get thrown over a barrel through no fault of your own.

Most of the time, I was able to work it out with the company, fortunately. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Edited on Jan 02, 2012, 05:04pm

Happy holidays.

I must say it looks weird to me, as I managed to spend part of my life during a time when the only handheld device a person might be carrying was a cigarette lighter. I suppose that the Walkman was the first step into technonarcissim, and now it seems that the slippery slope was made of Teflon.

Anyway, thank goodness for PornUsers! I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Wow, we can actually say "Merry Christmas" around here without getting our knuckles rapped for being politically incorrect?

How nice! I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Ahoy, Capn, nicely said.

And the point is to ensure that the user is at least human, if not superhuman. I can already think of a comedy scenario in which a contemporary Superman is sitting at a computer and is given impossibly hairy looking captcha's to type in and gets them right every time, with his Windows-Keyboarding SuperSkills.

And since Denner doesn't seem to grasp the "risking of failure" point, then, well ... could it be ...? I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

The main reason is all the work converting to different sizes and manually having to watermark all those pics. I am now converting to a professional CMS that does all the encoding of video and pics for me so I will be adding a lot more pictures to the site.

I am not sure whether it is common to watermark pics provided in the membership section that are packaged in zip files for download. Most webmasters tell me "watermark everything!" while most surfers tell me "No, I won't join a site that watermarks their pics. It ruins the pics."

I can see the argument on both sides but am not sure what is most common in the industry. In my opinion, if someone really wants to pirate the pic, they could easily crop off the watermark. They do it all the time with video. But my fellow webmasters say "why make it easy for them"

On the other hand, I want my members happy with the pics. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have a wonderful Christmas.

If I were producing content, I'd watermark, but keep it small and non-intrusive. As a user, I HATE watermarks that interfere with my viewing. And there have been some sites with extremely, ridiculously large and ugly and garish watermarks!

I think to myself: "They went to all of the trouble to arrange shooting (a lot involved just there) and editing and so on, and THEN they RUIN THEIR OWN WORK with a watermark that a lot of people are going to just HATE."

So, don't be that person.

And good luck with the CMS. I used to work with one (can't remember the name now), and it was awful. Hopefully, yours will turn out to be more solution than "added nuisance." I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I think it works out. We can get the stuff at holiday discount prices. Thanks for the update.

And have a nice, safe holiday. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I really don't care about who has the most points or not. I'll never be one of the ones on top nor do I care to (nor do I have the time or porn budget to do so). The question I guess comes down to marketing. Do we go with the current "hall of fame" system where people get acknowledged for life time achievements or do we go with an "all star" system that rewards the best of the current generation / contributors? I suppose the latter might appeal to people who are new to PU in that they can move up the ladder more quickly and get acknowledgment for that. Then again, it's going to take quite a while to make the top 5 list even if the change were made so that by the time you hit the big time in points you're going to be considered an old timer by internet posting standards.

For me, I wouldn't mind seeing a requirement that people be required to post a review / comment / reply every six months or year in order to maintain their official point status. That would at least change things up more over time. Then again, it probably wouldn't be anything more than "change for the sake of change" in that it wouldn't really affect my input or most peoples input here. Six of one, half dozen of another.

Speaking of activity -- hopefully not "passed" -- is Wittyguy going to do a "PUey" Awards for 2011? The first one, in 2008, was Dec 1st, and they've come a bit later each year, but now I'm starting to worry as this year's has not yet appeared.

I've really been looking forward to it. Hope it's on the way ... I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Well, some sites require that you type characters into a box before you can do something, such as a login or a search. 21st Sextury sites had that. I think Lizzie's Secrets does, too. And NextDoorModels (or is it Next-Door Models?).

The codes you have to type in are usually not that easy to read, as they have different colors or squiggly lines through them or black-on-white/white-on-black or characters that are "squished" together, so you risk failure once you've typed in the code and hit enter. If you typed it in wrong, you'll have to try again.

What's worse is that some of them hit you with diacritic marks, such as umlauts or cedillas or accents, or even superscripts or Greek or Cyrillic characters. So you REALLY risk failure then. I know I do.

So it was a joke about those "captcha" code boxes. And we all have to risk failure to get anywhere in real life ...

Shouldn't there be a hip-hop artist named KAPTCHA BOX or something like that? Might there be one already?

Was there one who didn't make it, perhaps? I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Imagine that inactive accounts lose status after, say, 2 years. If that happened, my bet is that within a day of his point loss (as in the "All Star" system Wittyguy describes), Roseman would return and would be less than happy.

I get tired of seeing the same names at the top myself, but I figure that's just me, being human. We like to see new things sometimes. That's why the payroll deduction tax extension hullabaloo got so old so fast and why the only interesting thing about the Republican party presidential contender competition is that we get a new up-n-comer every so often, even though every single one of them have said things that disqualify them for basically any kind of respectable leadership position you could name.

PU accounts aren't like bank accounts, which can be seized by the state after so much time unused. Think of it: Your PU points will last longer than real money! I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Edited on Dec 22, 2011, 04:19pm

Ditto with the low quality files of old I have. I don't even have one TB of porn mostly because I edit down my photo sets and only keep "the best" videos. For me, it's mostly just a mindset I have that carries over from real life: I don't really have any collections to speak of, if I find that I don't wear the clothes I have then they get donated, I despise knick knacks and other stuff like that labeling it all as "junk". For me, if I keep my stuff at a manageable level then I find I'm happier.

The only reason I can see for keeping huge volumes of porn is the occasional discovery of some gem that you forgot you downloaded. Really though, it's just a mindset. I never download whole sites because I only want the stuff I like and will look at. I guess you could liken it to some food snob who raves about five star meals but disses the all you can eat buffet. When it comes to food I'm all about mass quantities but when it comes to porn I'm a high class snob ... although most would say I'm just in a class by myself.

Funny how I used to be lot more like Wittyguy about the porn. I'd look through every photo, every video, and keep only what I knew I really wanted. Now it's getting more like the buffet, but not "all you can eat."

I've never understood why anyone would want to download an entire site. Is everything on it appealing? Is nothing unappealing? Or are those questions beside the point, and it's just porn hoarding to the extreme? Something like the hard drive with 20,000 Olga's on it? At some point soon, the bridge will appear and will be crossed, however it happens, whether it's deleting some things and/or buying another hard drive even with the high Thai-flood prices.

For me, that bridge appeared and I recently bought a 3 TB to back up pics and mothball an older, less capacious drive. After nearly 4 weeks, it's almost done. And there's a lot of video that I've kept on yet another drive that I have to go through, which I think is more time consuming; with photos, you can open and glance through quickly, but videos tend to make you slow down and watch.

Anyway, with all of the additional space now available, I've gotten more liberal about what I save, so I'll probably be in a similar fix to yours at some point in time, probably this year. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Here's something ponderable: "How many links on the Internet are dead at any given moment? What percentage of the total is it?"

Found an interesting article (from 2008, and still active) about how even the links to professional journals die rather soon. About 18% of historical journal links are dead in a year, it says. Well, said. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.
