I saw the best film I've seen in recent memory last night - My nephew and I are usually partial to zombie flicks, but I'd seen all the block-busters out so far, pretty much, and the remaining Hollywood dreck wasn't appealing - lucky for us the LGTG Film Fest was happening at the Castro theater, one of the coolest scenes in SF and they were showing some movie by John Greyson called Fig Trees that neither of us had never heard of but the description was befuddling and it reportedly got standing ovations at showings at other film fests. I was floored by the first minute when a tiny statue of an albino squirrel was trotted out, declared to be St Martin and started singing opera. This film was the most amazing combination of serious and silly that I've ever seen - overall it was a documentary about the struggle of AIDS activists to get wide access to retro viral medication, but the serious interviews were mixed up with bizarre ruminations on the prevalence of the word "ass" in the libretto to Gertrude Stein's only opera and mixed media operatic translations of some of the activists' key statements - and somehow none of it cut against the serious-ness of the main work, but leavened it with humor and life. There was one South African woman AIDS activist that was one of the most striking women I've ever seen - every feature was huge - her teeth, her lips, her nose, her eyes, her dreadlocked hair - and she was so full of life and so funny that I could have watched her telling stories on screen for hours. The capper to the whole thing, after all the operatic allusions in the film was an interview with one prominent South African activist who had been on a treatment strike while the pills were completely un-accessible to just about all South Africans - when that situation changed, his organization voted for him to begin treatment. There was a beautiful exchange between the activist and the film-maker, who said, "you took the medication?" "I took the medication." "So you lived." "Oh, yes. I lived." "Well that's not very good for opera." "Not good for opera, I suppose, but much better for me."

Ditto on Epoch, Ditto on DHD and Kink.com is filming all their stuff at an old former armory in the Mission District in SF - just across the bay from me - so if they're giving you trouble - just let me know - lol

I'll send you a pic of me walking up and down in front of the place with a "Kink.com - Unfair to Horndog" sign

Or, since ccbill's e-mail confirmations of sign-up to a site always say "confirmation", I just search my e-mail by "confirmation" and there they are in date order.

My suggestion - after you give TD a spin, keep checking 1byDay every once in a while until they have one of their periodic enticing specials, then do a one-month join - OR - if you've never been a member of ALS Scan, try that site for a month if their preview is appealing. Their vids are absolutely fucking fantastic AND they have bonus postings of 1-by-Day material in addition to their usual postings once a week - so you get to check out both sites. 1-by-Day does the same thing, except that the ALS Scan material is posted at 1-by-Day in place of their usual posting of 1-by-Day material, rather than as a bonus posting.

Yeah, Bruce Seven was brilliant - he was unique in having sexy strip-club dancing elements in all his stuff, including his bdsm stuff, so he wound up having great-looking women wearing sexy outfits - bootie shorts, etc.

It was a great example of a porn producer taking his obsessions and making great porn with them - Videobox does have that fabulous scene of Careena Collins & Felecia from Beyond Reality. I should add that they just posted one of my 10-ten fave porn scenes - Careena Collins, TT Boy & Tom Byron in Car Wash Angels - kind of a remake of a Bruce Seven scene by Jim Holliday.

As to POV - I'm a simple guy - If the final product is hot, I like it, if it's not, I don't. There's a lot of bad-mediocre POV out there. There's a lot of POV that is part of a larger category of porn where it seems like porn is being used by the guys making it in order to pay hot women to fuck them and then call it porn - I would definitely put the entire Ed Powers ouvre in this category. A model Jessie that I really like started her own site, JessieCoxxx.com and aside from one scene, all of the boy/girl stuff is horribly bad POV shit where it's all about the webmaster/photographer getting to fuck her and call it porn. See, that's where Elliot Spitzer went wrong. If he had a video camera in the room with that woman, he could have said, "I wasn't paying a prostitute! I'm a frustrated porn auteur!"

I'm not sure that I know what you're talking about - Met Art is great because they have so many updates on such a consistent basis, that if you like the basic framework of what you see in the preview of the site, you should find what you're craving. Femjoy is another site along the same vein except more restricted in that they don't have the glamour aspect that Met Art goes to at times - Femjoy specializes in very un-adorned women with very little make-up in natural settings and just photographs them very sharply. It's a pleasure to see such a lack of photo-shopping, in my opinion.

They have much better vids at Femjoy than at Met Art, in my opinion. The vids at Femjoy keep me wanting to watch them, simple as they are, while the vast majority of vids bore me to tears, even though they're short.

MPL Studios is another interesting site along similar veins, one that I've never had a membership to, so I've never had a chance to explore it in any depth. It's one of those sites where I'm checking in periodically to see if they have some great special on their join price, but they never do.

I don't get the analogy. Whether he can get it up or not, he can do a lot of kissing and stroking - that's got to be enjoyable. If he were allergic, he'd have to stay away from them - now that would be torture!

Here's the article at AVN.com:

http://business.avn.com/articles/35572.html

I've got to say that I've got tremendous respect for Dr Sharon Mitchell - she went from being a porn performer/heroin addict to going through medical school and has done more to prevent AIDS in the adult industry than any other single person alive. I doubt if the adult industry would have shut down to the extent it did a few years ago when there was the mini-HIV breakout for anybody else.

Mine is beyond-erotic balls-to-the-wall madness. I got into this aspect of porn watching Bruce Seven's stuff and watching recent Evil Angel stuff has stoked my affection even more. Why? Because at it's best, the performers are having so much fun taking things "to the limit" as Bruce Seven used to say - and there's real beauty in that to me and the fact that it is so fucking filthy makes it even better to me. I was looking at some site yesterday where they were asking a bunch of people what song lyrics stick with them as they go through their life and for me it's Television's "I see no evil." And when I see stuff that's wrong in so many ways and resonates a tremendous "rightness", I'm really thrilled.

And what's funny is that I can't say that this stuff is the most dick-raising to me. But it sure does make me enjoy watching.

Foreign films - I was lucky enough to live in Boston at the height of it's cinephilia - there were countless movie houses showing classic movies and foreign films in their original languages. It seems like in the 80's it started to get more difficult for foreign films in their original languages to get distribution in the US - instead domestic film production companies would license the rights to remake the films they wanted as American films - and most of them are crap. I gotta admit I saw a lot of mediocre foreign films when I was going a lot, but the remakes tend to be even worse - with some exceptions - I hadn't realized that Vanilla Sky was a remake - I thought it was an interesting film.

Sounds like Soderbergh's "experimental" material - shaky hand-held cameras, characters mumbling with poor audio to make you think you're watching something daring. I'll pass and look out for more of Sasha's Evil Angel stuff - she did a great scene for Stagliano's "Stretch Class" series that was posted on the Buttman.com site a week or two ago - mmmmm - deeelicious!

Saw the new Star Trek movie - it was enjoyable, though I don't know how memorable I will find it - it seems to be slipping already. It's been a good season for big-budget popcorn movies, so far. I've seen several and haven't walked out disappointed from any of them.

I don't know how bullet-proof a release form makes anybody when it comes to someone else being injured. You can't have someone sign a release form, beat them up and expect to use the release form as a "get out of jail free" card. Embarassing them, sure, causing injury, it's a question for the courts to decide and it's a matter of what the video reveals as to what they actually did in the scene. We shall see.

I'll miss the Siskel & Ebert & Roper & Callahan-like various perspectives from the current panel set-up - but frankly, the reviews were few and far-between, in my experience, where your reviewers differed all that much, so the timeliness factor will definitely be well-served by allowing your reviewers to cover more ground - and the decision to take price out of the equation has proven to be a good one, in my opinion, because prices are all over the map these days. There are sites, such as Masuimi Max's IAmTrouble.com, that seem to revamp their price structure once a week to see what works. There are a whole lot of sites, especially the reality porn sites, that have specials all over the place with wildly varying prices - to nail down a definite price on many sites is getting more difficult - and as my disappointed reaction to Bang Bros proves to me - getting a great deal is only satisfying if you actually enjoy the site once you're in there.

Have people seen the story about the lawsuit having to do with the new movie? Apparently, as Bruno he went to a charity bingo game for elderly people, asked if he could call a game, then started using a lot of profanity to freak out the old folks. When the woman running the thing tried to get him off-stage she says that he and the camera crew attacked her and she was so freaked out by the thing that she collapsed and became disabled as a result - if the video that they shot - and I'm sure it will be subpoenaed shows the story to be what this woman is saying, it sounds like any profits from the movie could wind up in her pocket. It's one thing to do things to expose people for being racist or whatever, and I think that Cohen has done some good stuff along those lines, but to just do things to freak out old people is just being an abusive asshole - and I have no problem with abusive assholes having their pants sued off them.

I've seen some short porn movies/clips with Sasha Grey. She is physically lovely, but I don't appreciate her persona of a girl who enjoys rough sex with spitting, slapping, choking, gagging, name-calling, etc. That kind of sex is not a turn-on for me.

I assume her character in the non-porn movie is totally different. If it were similar to her porn character, I would not be interested in the film.

I downloaded my favorite Sasha Grey vid last night by my fave new director - not on my absolute all-time faves list, but I really enjoy his stuff - candy-colored fantasy filth - Jay Sins. It started off with Sasha & DeAnna Durmond as sexy bunnies hopping around with bunny ears and cotton tails - lots of great ass play, then it got into anal acrobatics - objects being inserted and popped out of their asses - very playful and fun and light and weird and filthy all at the same time.

Well, here's one that's got me. Jayme Langford had fought to get an invitation to go along with Jana Foxy/Jordan on ALS Scan's Caribbean trip - she got the invite, with a bit of angst - then she shows up with a heart fucking carved into her wrist - a bloody ugly fucking repulsive mutilation - for a trip that's all about being completely nude all the time - what a fool! The thing is so repulsive that I can't stand a single pic of her where it's visible. I hope they pull any such pics from the photos of the trip. It's that anti-erotic. It seems incredibly dis-respectful of Alex and the ALS Scan crew to be going on a trip like this that she had to know was going to be rather expensive and then go mutilate herself like that before-hand. I don't get it. I sure wish I hadn't given my vote that she be invited - I figured that Jana would be crazier with her friend there - that may have happened, but Jana's fucking nuts anyway.

Yep - that's my self-imposed rule - no reviews until I've been a member for at least a month - it's just too easy for first impressions to lead in a direction - pro or negative - that doesn't hold up over several weeks. Of course, some sites have a particularly good or bad month, but it's a reasonable time to wait to do a full review - not that I'm recommending it as something that ought to be a general rule, but it's one that I try to keep to.

In the Bay Area, people are pretty out there about their sexuality if they are so inclined, but that's certainly unique. The Bay Area's pretty much made for weirdos, which is why I like it as much as I do.

I don't know why, but Memento is a movie that didn't excite me that much in the theater but I enjoyed a lot more when it was on cable - and especially if I watched small portions of it. Good performances and they were able to carry the logic in interesting directions when you watch parts of the movie - as a whole, and especially when you get to the ending - ehhh, not that great.

My favorite easily was Batman Returns - Michelle Pfeiffer as the CatWoman - mmmmmrrrroowwwrrrr!!! No disrespect intended to Heath Ledger, but had Danny DeVito passed away before that movie came out, people would have had some pretty astonishingly good things to say about his Penguin performance, which was the best acting Danny D has ever done. Oh, and Christopher Walken as the evil rich villain - wow! It's one of those movies that I can thoroughly enjoy seeing once a year - the only one of the Batman movies that I can say that about.

Wall-E was on cable last night - I would have changed the name to Wall-Paper. Instead I just changed the channel, though I can't say that I found anything much better.

Oh, well - lot of good Pixar movies have been made in the last few years. The Incredibles was one that I particularly enjoyed.

Different tastes indeed

I thought the 3rd Terminator movie was a complete snooze-fest. I don't even remember it at this point. I thought that the new one was much better and found it entertaining throughout - it had great eye candy with Moon Bloodgood

It's interesting that you refer to this new Terminator movie as dreary, lk, while you liked The Dark Knight better. I found Dark Knight quite a bit more dreary than this one. Bale's acting in The Dark Knight made me think that he had learned acting from a lumber yard - the wood, not the people that work there, unfortunately. As much as Heath Ledger's performance in Dark Knight was exceptional, I thought the movie overall was dreary and boring.

So there you go - put these two reviews together and potential movie go-ers probably aren't helped one tiny bit - lol

This webmaster thinks that every site is going in this direction? He's a liar or he's just plain wrong. Sites that used to have DRM have done away with it, in the main. And he's an idiot because the main media players have options to download any stream, so it's much easier for the un-tech-savvy to save this stuff to their system.

I sympathize with the people that have sites that have to contend with piracy. But the best solution to that stuff is to do things like live web events that give members experiences that aren't going to be equalled by the people that are just downloading the pirated material - or just making their updates so special that people feel that the site deserves their dollars.

The "only a moron pays for porn" crowd isn't going away any time soon and I don't see the material on stream-only sites being presented in the forums that post pirated material any less than any other site, so this strategy is only going to keep away the people that would otherwise be willing to pay.

I noticed on one of the newer vids at Disgraced 18 - part of the Porn Pros Network - that they started the vid with an interview with the model where they established the kind of stuff that they were going to be doing in the vid and asked if she had a problem with that - then they established safe words that she could use to stop the action if she felt uncomfortable at any point. I thought this was smart from a legal protection perspective - to state up front that the model knew what was up and was provided with the means to stop it if she wanted. I also thought it was good to promote safe words in case any viewers want to get into rough play in their personal sex life.

The only problem that I've had with either is that DHD Media frequently does not provide username & password with their confirmation e-mail - and sometimes doesn't send a confirmation e-mail. So put your username & password somewhere that you can find it again if your browser stops saving it - as still is the case with mine.

Those online translators are hilarious. When a friend of mine was going on vacation in Japan, she was looking for bed-and-breakfasts in Japan, we found sites for some, we used online translators to read them in English and roared laughing for an hour because the results were so ridiculous - dangerous things to use to construct a business letter. We tried it and were glad that we had someone that understood the language that we were trying to translate to before we sent the thing out.

Jenna Haze has always been great at Dirty Talk. She has a recent vid on her site where she's like this hot teasing bitch showing off her bod from every angle teasing the viewer the whole time - "Do you have your cock out for me? Are you jerking it now?" That sort of thing. It became an instant fave on the site. She was suprised since it was so simple and was done on the spur of the moment with one take. I love that stuff. ALS Scan has a few like that - Courtney Simpson did that in a breakfast nook vid, but I can't think of a site that makes that a regular thing.

One of my very favorite scenes in porn is Jeanna Fine and Anna Malle doing a 2-girl blowjob scene with fantastic dirty talk throughout in New Wave Hookers 5.

There's a lot of weird kinky stuff in Japanese Porn. A variation on the Wet & Messy one that you described, Exotics, was a weird bukkake vid that I downloaded on a recent 1-month membership to Action JAV. Two schoolgirl sisters were going about their day and guys would show up and stick cocks in their mouth while they were in the bathroom brushing their teeth or whatever, then would jerk off and cum in the girl's faces while the girls pretty much ignored it and just kept on doing what they were doing.

I guess Eve wasn't into it. I can't say that I blame her. That cat-licking- milk scene is one of my favorites that she did at Eve Angel.com

I'm not sure what your read on inexpensive is - jsexnetwork has a fair amount of uncensored stuff, including all of Maria Ozawa's uncensored vids. They also have a lot of stuff with mozaic - they're a great site for seeing the full range of Japanese erotica from the pretty to the rough and weird.

According to the IT people where I work, it's not the case that Macs are unhackable and unvirusable. It's more the case that hackers and virus writers have focused their attention on Windows because it's so much more used for business and government - and business & government are bad, in the minds of many hackers and virus-writers. We have both Macs (for the graphics & editorial people) and PC's - for everybody else - where I work and the IT worry quite a bit of what's going to happen if the hackers & virus-writers shift their focus.

I keep telling you guys that the messageboard at Freeones.com is the place to go for every fetish you can think of - there's a 5-page thread there on "big pussy lips", there's a 2-page thread on a poll of "best large labia pornstar" - I would suggest that the OP take a look there.

A few days ago my IE browser stopped saving log-in info - kind of a pain - now I have to keep a list of logins and passwords so I can copy and paste everytime I have to enter that info.

Why would that have happened and what do I need to do to tell IE to resume saving that info - even when I click on the "save this info", it doesn't at this point.

The only downloaded program I can think of that I've done recently was an update to Yahoo IM - and Yahoo is famous for thinking of ways to fucking you up.

Hopefully the tech-minded here can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

I like Shatner because he now realizes the pomposity of his own persona and can make fun of himself on the camera. He's clever enough to play the fool and play it well.

I agree - Shatner's very entertaining - I loved him in Boston Legal. The best interview I ever saw with him was by Henry Rollins, who is a friend of Shatner's. Apparently Shatner has an old-fashioned weekly salon, where he invites people from different branches of the arts to get together and enjoy each other. In that Rollins interview, I learned about this early Shatner flick:

A Roger Corman film about White Supremacy shot on location in Missouri in 1962 - the entire cast & crew put their lives on the line to make this movie - ya gotta love that.

It's no joke about credit card markets. Where I work, we had a customer in Nigeria that was shipped without prepayment - I dunno how that happened! I recently sent them to Collections. They provided the Collection Agency with 3 credit card #'s to charge - each one for 1/3 of the balance. None of the charges went through. They gave 3 more credit card #'s. None of them went through. I told the Collection Agency, "no more of this crap! These people are clearly buying credit card #'s in bulk from some Russian hackers - if we ever succeeded in putting them through, we'd have some poor guy in Kansas wondering why we charged their credit card." We haven't succeeded in collecting it yet, but at least we aren't putting through charges on stolen credit card #s.

Hell, no - you're banned - banned, I say!

Actually, I have no power to ban anybody, but I thought I'd go on a power-trip for a second or two. Never mind. Have a good day. Edited by Staff on May 06, 2009, 07:45am (Khan: corrected url)

Judging from the stories about how easy it is to buy pirated DVD's in NYC and big cities in Asia, the potential punishments don't seem to be stopping anybody -

One problem for anybody in enforcement is that theaters have minimal staff so there's no ushers walking into a theater unless a bunch of customers go howling for one and there's no human operating the projector

The other problem for anybody in enforcement is that video recordng technology keeps getting tinier and less obtrusive.

If someone goes to a matinee in a multiplex, there aren't very many people in the theater, so pirates have a free hand.

Given that I'm one of those morons that pays for porn - according to the views of people that just trade links to pirated stuff - I can't see buying crappy pirated Hollywood movies or downloading pirated Hollywood movies online.

When you look at how well action movies do, in general, and that they're probably the first movies pirated and posted, it's hard for me to see that the pirated stuff acts as other than advertisements for the real stuff, though.

I totally enjoyed the Wolverine movie. It got bad reviews? I guess I was lucky that I didn't read any reviews - critics - what you gonna do?

It's not going to win any Academy Awards, it's just a fun action movie that should entertain anybody that likes the Wolverine character as presented in the other X-Men movies - X-Men geeks, on the other hand, still can't past the fact that they didn't find a 3 foot high actor to play Wolverine since he's presented in the comics as 1/2 the size of characters like Storm.

Star Trek afficianados might object to my referring to them as popcorn movies, but that's how I look at them - people looking for a fun one won't go wrong with the new Wolverine origins movie - Jackman's always entertaining in that character and the movie's got lots of action, humor, emotional charge - not too much CGI to make you feel like a dimwit for watching a cartoon.

And to be more on topic - my favorite of the Star Trek series' movies was the one with the Borg Queen - great images in that one.
