I opted for currency problems because I interpreted that as including issues with the billing service. If a site has flaws and I'm aware of those flaws I'll still join if I think it is a good value for me because I like that niche. But what kills it for me immediately is a billing service that gets negative reactions from the members here. I can weigh the other options if I really want to see the site, but I'm not give credit card information to a site I don't trust.
And if I was allowed two votes, I'd follow the trend and choose poor preview. It bugs me when a site gives me no clear indication of what's inside with a membership. I give full marks to sites like Videobox and Evil Angel that let you see everything they have to offer before you join. Of course, this can't apply to photo sites and I'm aware of that limitation.

Probably about the same for me. I joined more sites in the past year than I normally would because here in Canada we're always under the threat of ISPs imposing bandwidth caps. My ISP doesn't do that now but I figure they will at some point so I'm downloading a lot while I can. I expect that to continue in 2012.

I find the TBP information all useful and I rely on it, but I don't use the join page screen captures. My assumption is that they are more useful for our European members who can compare to ensure they're not getting regional pricing.

My worry is that there is some hidden or variable glitch that I haven't read about. Like a download limit that hasn't been reported. In m ost cases though all a site's warts are noted in TBP and PU reviews so I rarely have unpleasant surprises.

I'm okay with just two or three days. I admit that sometimes I can't get on the site and therefore lose any meaningful way to comment on a poll (yes, I know I can still post but the chances of engaging the regulars in a debate is much less) but I can live with that.

I've seen a lot of porn and not much can really disgust me, but there are some things I prefer not to see.
First though, just a comment on the thoughts expressed about degradation and humiliation. Degradation and humiliation can be an intergral part of BDSM sex, and while most of us wouldn't think of BDSM as mainstream, those who practice it seem to enjoy it. The difference, in my opinion, it evdient in sites on the Kink.com network where degradation, humiliation, bondage and pain are applied to women who enjoy that. It's done for the sole purpose of giving THEM the pleasure they seek. This is completely different from a male performer degrading, humilating or causing pain to a female for HIS twisted pleasure. I've been a member to many Kink sites many times over and, trust me, the difference between a male giving a female pleasure through degradation and humiliation is completely different from watching some A-hole degrade a woman for his own pleasure.
Having said that, there appears to be a new niche starting in porn. It's a development of extreme anal. While I'm a big fan of anal-themed scenes, this freaks me out a bit, and maybe there's even some disgust in there too. The niche appears to go by either "rosebud porn" or the more accurate and medical term of "prolapse porn." That's exactly what it is: some of these new models that dominate the extreme-anal market can prolapse their colons at will. It's very weird and not very sexy. And maybe even a little disgusting.

While price is a factor, I prefer to consider it more in terms of value rather than just as a raw number. I've given high scores to expensive sites and low scores to inexpensive ones. I like to think that I explain and justify that in the body of the review.

There seems to be a greater likelihood of a European model having multiple names than an American one. That, or the model's name stops changing when there is broad name recognition. For example, Nollie became Lexi Belle, and no one is going to change her name now and risk the gravy train associated with her.

It depends, but I think the overall trend is downward.
Recently I signed up for a couple of Kink memberships (Everything Butt and Public Disgrace). Kink is a company that I trust and I've never been disappointed. As they add niches it's easy to say that they're getting better.
But... yesterday I had a hankering for some new porn so I browsed through TBP and bought a couple of trial memberships. In both cases I was disappointed.
So the problem I've got is this: I have a list of sites that I go back to regularly and I know I'll be happy, but when I try to go beyond that list I often face disappointment.

After a court challenge many years ago the law the barred women from going topless (which wasn't applied to men) was overturned in Canada. Since then, women have had the right. But, I can also report that we aren't exactly overwhelmed with hot, young coeds strolling down the street or beach with no tops on. Once a year some women's groups hold a parade to mark the anniversary of the court ruling, but I've never seen one of those either.

I don't want to come across as homophobic, because I'm not, or certainly not anti-gay, because I'm not that either, but for me the question is somewhat foreign because I've never really thought of it before. I suspect that if I had to choose something I'd probably use some of the same criteria as with women: youngish, fit, and A-cup breasts. Or maybe not the last one.
Demonstrating a serious double-standard though, I suspect that a guy can be perceived as sexy by a majority of people at a much older age.

This is a tough question, and I suspect the answer might be different depending on the day the question is asked.
And not to dodge the question even further, but I think I'd have to choose Kink.com, but I don't think I could choose from among my favourite sites there like The Training of O, Sex and Submission, Public Disgrace and Everything Butt. Kink gets the nod because of their consistency. They're consistently innovative and I can always count on them to deliver excellent scenes for a great price. The few occasions I've had to contact them for service have only furthered my respect for them as a company.
Runners-up would be softer sites like ALS Scan and FTV Girls. I'd also have to consider the Diesel Access Network (Young Legal Porn, Skinny Super Girl, 18 Only Girls, Ivana Fukalot) since they were a big surprise for me in 2011. Evil Angel would also be in the running since they offer such an excellent value for some very unique porn.

I've given small, new sites a good score based on the scenes posted and reasonable expectations that the site will continue to grow. I've done that with some Kink sites when they were new and didn't feel bad about giving a high score because I know and trust Kink, and i made it clear in my review that the site was still small.

I answered no, but the answer is 'sort of.' I actually did buy into (literally) the hype over the Paris Hilton sex tape and bought a copy of the DVD when it came out. I recall the price was astronomical, but Paris is my kind of girl - young, petite, small-breasted and trashy - so I was hooked. I still have the videos, though I've long since converted them to wmv so I don't need the disk. I haven't watched the Paris Hilton stuff again, but there were four 'bonus' scenes that I've watched several times. The scene with Teagan Presley alone is enough to mean that I'll always have some celebrity content in my collection.

I suspect that the sample group here will skew the numbers to the higher end of revisits. Most of the regulars here seems to have a number of sites that they review regularly and encourange others to visit. These reviews and recommendations have led me to some incredible sites that I might not have otherwise visited, and that's a huge plus for being a member here.
For me, it's more than five. FTV Girls, Nubiles, ALS Scan, The Training of O, Sex and Submission, Public Disgrace, Everything Butt, Videobox and Evil Angel (both sites) are in fairly regular rotation.

I could have answered "yes," but opted for "I get a fair bit, but not all." It's probably a mix for me. I will download all the material a site has in a lot of cases but that isn't being indiscriminate. I spend a lot of time here and at TBP researching a site before i join to make sure it's something I want to join. Take a Kink site like Everything Butt. To them, I might look like a site ripper because I'll download EVERYTHING. But... that isn't being indiscriminate because I've applied the discrimination before I pull out my credit card. It's a site where I know I'll want everything. With other sites, I usually sort by theme and download a lot of what interests me. I have an unofficial list of stars that I look for and I'll download most of their material if there is any on the site. Then I'll poke around at my leisure and maybe 'discover' some new talent that I'd like to see. To use a counter-example, if I joined Bang Bros I'd look like a pretty light user to them because they have almost nothing that interests me. But I won't join because thanks to the information from you guys and at TBP I already know that so I simply don't join.
I'm sure I'm not the only member here who uses this method of choosing memberships.

I'm surprised that as of this time the poll is showing 38% of the responses saying they like BTS material. I like it a lot and usually download it when it is offered. My preference is for out-takes, bloopers and interviews with the female models.

Agreed. That's my hope for Gloria at Skinny Super Girl, Young Legal Porn and a couple of other Diesel Access sites. I asked the webmaster about that a few months ago and he said that girl/girl was likely in her future but probably not b/g hardcore. That was a sad day for me...

Like most people, I'd prefer to see no limits, but I can understand why some sites use them. But the limit has to be reasonable. The 10GB per day that Reality Kings imposes, for example, is too low given that they offer some HD material. I think being able to download only two or three scenes a day is unreasonable for such a large site. For a small photo site 10GB might be very generous.

I agree. There are many members here who shoudln't join Sinnistar because it is too extreme, but it is still a good site and I hope the owner does well.
But there can be surprises. A couple of weeks after otoh reviewed Met Art and said it was too sterile I thanked him for steering me away from the site. But then I got an offer to join that was too good to refuse so I joined and found that I liked the site even though it is pretty tame for my tastes and sterile too. But I suspect that it's easier for someone into hardcore to be interested in softcore than the other way around.
