I think it's fair to ask that people who would judge others by a trust rating be limited to those who have provided some reviews of their own. If nothing else, this demonstrates that it's not easy to write a review and if you limited it to people with a score of 5 they'd be more aware of that fact. I think my original suggestion was a score of 10, but I agree 5 would be more reasonable and at least 1 as uscue suggested. I don't think it's fair for someone to register and then waltz into the site saying they don't trust anybody by voting no.

I really like the anonymous comment section for no votes because "I just didn't like something they wrote" isn't a valid reason for voting no. There are plenty of valid reasons, but I think the member getting voted down deserves to know what it was.

I'm not sure that comments would necessarily make the trust ratings less anonymous as long as the comments were anonymous as well.

You can say you think people take a no rating too personally, but you haven't had anyone say they didn't trust somethong you wrote on here which does feel personal. I agree I'm probably taking it too hard when I get a negative rating, but when you try to make a review as unbiased as possible it can be personal when someone essentially says you failed, especially when it's so easy and anonymous to do so.

I also agree that in most cases a negative trust rating is because of overly biased reviews like giving a site a 50 or a 100, but I haven't done either and I have had 4 negative trust ratings for reasons I can't explain. It's fine if someone doesn't like your review, but to anonymously indicate you are untrustowrthy basically sucks.

In the end, I think the trust ratings were started for a reason and the alternative of no trust ratings is even less appealing. However, that doesn't mean a person doesn't feel bad if even one person labels them as untrustworthy.

Just my $0.02.

I know I'm feeling frustrated with the "No" trust votes I've been getting lately, going up from 2 to 4 just overnight. I don't mind someone having a beef at all....if you don't trust me that's fine, but I'd like to know what it is that makes a particular user not trust me particularly if there's something I can do to address their concern. Am I not discussing a certain feature? Is there a misunderstanding? I work very hard to make my reviews fair and if I have a bias I state it up front.

I guess some kind of comment section would be good, but for now if anyone thinks my reviews are bad PLEASE send me a message or post a reply saying why and what I could do better! I take a lot of pride in my reviews and want them to be helpful.

Thanks for the kind words and for letting me know I didn't go over the top...well, at least not too over the top!

The one thing I forgot to mention: I wonder if perhaps you should let users with less than 10 reviews be exempt from the trust ratings. I've seen a few too many never get to their rookie reviewer badge because they get jumped all over by "no" votes on their trust rating because they haven't learned the ropes just yet. I know you wanted to discourage people from coming in, writing a couple terrible or biased reviews, and then splitting. I think that's worked very well, but it could be going to far in the other direction and well intentioned folks making a couple missteps may hightail in out of here.

Anyway, it's just a thought. As I said last time, I'm quite sure I wouldn't have done better than you guys have by a long shot if our positions were reversed and you've done very well with every new feature. I'm glad to be a part of it and my "bully pulpit" is once again closed...for the time being. ;)

Thanks much guys!

I'll definitely go with the DRM thing the others have mentioned, especially when it isn't noted up front. But for me it's videos and if the quality lags behind what's shown in the tour I get really peeved. The other thing would be no interaction with members but as others have said here (and I agree) that should really be considered a cherry on top when you get it.

Hey Rick,

I appreciate all the thought that went into the raffle and the reasons for eliminating the point bonuses which makes perfect sense. So, I am not complaining since you had a very good reason for changing things as you did. However, I would point out that there are legitimate ways of contributing to the site that don't include reviews that now seem to go much less rewarded. I think I'm a prime example of someone who has a limited budget and can't join that many sites to review but still put a lot (at least as much as I could) into the site. My concern as a result of the changes would be that those with lots of money to spend on sites or who join large networks so they can review a large number of sites at once would benefit the most. My point totals dropped by half since I haven't done as many reviews as some others although I think I have been one of the top contributors.

All that said, I know changes needed to be made and I know why you made the changes you did. It's not like I could have done better in your place, but I did think it worthwhile to offer my view on the changes. Regardless, the site is growing and changing which can only be to the good. Thanks for listening to my ramblings! ;)

Hey Rick,

Regardless of the outcome, I think it's great how hard you guys are trying to make this a vibrant site. And even though I expressed some skepticism, I'm definitely rooting for it to succeed.

One thing I did want to ask about was taking away points folks had earned from the previous system, especially taking away bonuses that users used to get for earning badges. I can't say I was happy to log in yesterday to see my point total dropped (as well as my ranking) but I know that you must have felt it was the right thing to do.

Thanks for all the efforts and for keeping us informed.

I'll certainly give it some time to grow on me, but my initial reaction isn't really positive. I think it might encourage participation although the lure of money might cause certain people to assign random user trust ratings for example just to get more tickets. I'm quite sure the site will be more active though so we'll have to see.

None of the categories really fit since I belong to a couple sites that aren't listed here, but that's because they are pretty new. I've thought of submitting their addresses, but I find myself concerned that folks will jump on them being new sites that are just getting their barings. Maybe I'm silly to keep them to myself for now, but I feel that way.

I was surprised as well with so many choosing the daily option and my concern would be keeping them fresh, but if that's what the people want that's what they get, eh? :) I'll put my thinking cap on and see if I can come up with anything!

I think it was great to have a daily poll in the beginning, but couldn't someone come in and vote on each poll, getting a badge immediately? I think it should be weekly and I'd take every other day, but I think daily is too often.

What really drives me crazy is when sites remove the dates after they stop updating, so you could be fooled into thinking the site is active.

What drives me crazy is when a tour is so filled with material that you wouldn't know what the site's background color was, but then you join and you can tell very quickly because of all the bare space.

I'd say it's somewhere in the middle actually since I usually wait a few days but will sometimes join without thinking if a site "gets me going". Actually, PU has been helpful in that regard since I can look for a review more easily and will take the time to evaluate.

I had to choose doesn't interest me since I haven't done it and all the other choices involved saying yes, but I actually do find it interesting.

It's a mix of things. Part of it is definitely the next door neighbor fantasy we all had as young boys and men, but I think the experience factor also counts for a lot of it. I just think women with some experience are sexier because they know what makes them feel sexy and that shows through. Some teens are ok, but most pose in ways that are boring and are trying to look sexy, which NEVER works. I used to find young ones the sexiest, but as I have gotten older the experience makes all the different and MILFs are hot!

It really would depend on the deal and how much I wanted to download the content. If it was something unique and I was really into it, absolutely. If it's just an ok site that's really adding restrictions under a so-called "deal of more downloads", not a chance.

I do the same as Monahan by having everything go to a free email account. I can't imagine someone using a fake email since that wouldn't leave you with a receipt.

I agree with Marquis. I think for a number of reasons, sites have raised prices to get the most they can out of someone after a month assuming they will leave. Perhaps they can have a program that allows greater access to the site as you continue membership (I think Abbey Winters does this to an extent) to KEEP someone a member. I guarantee I would spend more to stay connected to a site for a longer period of time. So, a variety of picture sizes isn't really going to do that.

I admit that I sometimes forget about what I've downloaded since I'm often getting as much stuff off the site as I can before my membership runs out. However, it ends up being a nice surprise when I go back through. That or I delete it/throw it out because it sucks. ;)

I used to feel like I could just take them witha grain of salt, but I have seen too many that leave out obvious flaws. I can always find at least a couple flaws with even my favorite sites, so if a reviewer can't be bothered to say at least 1 thing that could be improved I don't give it any attention.

I joined Danni.com which has DRM and I swore I'd never do it again. It's possible I would join such a site, but the content would have to be 100% dead on for my tatses.

If it's a site where you just download movies or pics I don't mind this, but with personal sites I wish the month to month charge was low enough to stay a member long term. There's a couple such sites I love but can't afford to maintain an uniterrputed membership.
