Overall I'm pretty happy with the quality of the reviews here and I hope I've contributed something to what the site has become. Yes, there are some poor reviews, most often by new users, but I have watched many members here improve drastically over time. That's why this site is great and why it will continue to be so in the future.

I have about 40GB in disk space, but countless GB burned onto CDs and DVDs. Let's just say that I'm well acquainted with Windows XP telling me I'm running low on hard drive space! ;)

I definitely take the score and details of a review into account when I join a site, but it's usually the type of content that attracts me to a site first. So, I voted "any score", but in reality I'll rarely if ever join a site that has any real negatives that have been backed up by other opinions.

I hate typing the URL in my browser because if you type just one character wrong it gives you the error and the mistyped address stays in your address bar FOREVER!!! Well, at least it seems that way. ;)

I agree that having moderators decide what is and is not a good reason for casting a no vote would be a very slippery slope. The farthest I might go there is that comments be removed that are inflammatory, but really I wouldn't ask anyone to determine such things. I do think no votes should be required to give a reason, so maybe they could have to be viewed by a moderator just be sure they actually said something rather than typing a single letter. Regardless, it's not an easy thing.

To be honest I've only ever seen fisting in lesbian scenes and never thought of a guy doing it. I voted "It's Hot, Bring It On!", but that only refers to g/g and not sure about involving a dude.

Things are tight recently with me, so less of it will go to porn than I'd like, but you know you have to use some of it! ;)

They all add something unique to a review so I like being able to read all four, but if I was pressed to come up with a factor to put one above the rest I'd give it to Duke for giving out tougher scores and having the fewest sites scoring in the 90s.

Although it sounds cliche, the sexiest part of a woman isn't her body. That's not to say that it isn't a big part of it and usually where it starts, but it really doesn't matter if the woman isn't confident or enjoying what she's doing. I think Allie Sin is a gorgeous woman, but in all her scenes she looks sad and bored. That's a huge turn off. I like women of all shapes and sizes, but without that certain something it's just not going to do it for me.

I was going to indicate that some touch up was ok, but I voted for raw since some retouching jobs go way too far and in many instances they retouch things that I'd rather they didn't like freckles, fine lines, and even a little meat on the bones. I recently saw a retouch job on a freckled star I like (Vixen Vogel) which removed all of her "beauty marks" and did some unecessary work on her entire abs area. I don't like zits at all or scars in most cases, but I'll live with them if that's the only way to keep the elements I do like.

I might have already stated this elsewhere, but I think leaving anonymous ratings can be a good thing, especially if someone is concerned that their feedback may receive a harsh response. For me, I decided to not be anonymous from the first day it was allowed. I was nervous at first, but I think if you are fair in your comments you will ultimately be respected even if those same folks disagree with you.
I do, however, think that if you go anonymous and vote no that you should at least leave a response so teh person knows why you felt they were untrustworthy. I always ask folks to tell me why since I'm not perfect and always want to be open to honest and fair criticism, good or bad.
The only problem with the comment thing is how you would compel someone to leave a comment with a no vote. It would be hard to enforce and I think it can only be something you try to instill rather than a hard and fast rule. If someone leaves you an anonymous no vote without a comment, just ask why and see what happens. In most cases when this has happened to me the person has just changed their vote to yes when I really wanted to know what they didn't like!

I'll admit that most of my reviews are written when I've been a member of a site for less than a month, but since they are dated I know full well that I'm only providing a snapshot at that particular time. Yes, the review will eventually be outdated, but isn't that why PU will be removing reviews after a year?
As for the TBP reviews being more valid, I would actually think they are quite similar since I doubt all of them have been members of a particular site for a very long period. They do update their reviews, but only after awhile and there are plenty of sites I've reviewed that are way out of date. But with thousands of sites and 4 reviewers, isn't that just the nature of the beast and why PU exists?
All of us are "amateurs" in a sense and if I got paid to do this (which would be awesome) I'd spend even more time than I already do on each site. Short of that, no one expects any of us to be Siskel or Ebert since we all do the best we can. Right?

I was away when this poll was posted, so maybe my comment is a little late. I was definitely bothered by the anonymous trust ratings at first but now I try not to let it bother me very much. Right now I don't have any negative votes, but can tell that people changed their vote after awhile. That's probably just the nature of the beast and newer users will tend to be more harsh than people who have been around awhile.
So, I don't mind anonymous ratings since people want to feel free to say what they think without being targeted if the person being rated wasn't happy. I do think, however, that people should leave a reason for what they didn't like so that user has a chance to correct or at least address whatever was wrong. I always wrote back to people who gave me a negative rating asking why and most people changed their vote after a time. Really, I just wanted to know what I could do better since I'm not perfect and don't claim to be.
Just my $0.02.

Thanks for the comments Jay. I was really on the fence here since I always have more to say, but I certainly don't think it should be unlimited. At least we get to have our say!

This is a great question and I think it's elicited a lot of good responses. I think every site should offer a trial, but at the same time I respect a webmaster not wanting to give away his full product. I wouldn't even mind a DRM restriction for the trial if it was that important, although a hate DRM so I'd go with download limits as someone here suggested. And I am VERY onboard with the idea of sites not charging full price right away when they have very little content to offer yet. Sure you are joining on the faith that the collection will get built up, but how many times have we all been burned there. Last, if you are going to offer a limited access trial, then state up front that such is the case and give us at least some idea of how much we'll get to see as a member. If done right it'd be like a movie trailer, but in most cases now it's not fully disclosed and folks feel cheated. If all webmasters were up front I think most people would respect that and we'd have to pitch in by discouraging people that fly in and want to download everything off the site in one swoop...by not doing it.

When I intially voted this morning I wanted there to be a higher limit, but I changed my mind just now and thought I'd say why. I too have wanted to write more since I tend to use as much space as I'm allowed. While more would seem to be better, I actually think that wanting to go over the limit may be an indication that the review is getting too long winded. I have usually found that if I go back over the review I can easily edit out some things and still say everything I wanted to express. So, I think a limit is a good idea, although maybe it could be upped conservatively at first. If reviews get too long, I wonder if people won't read them.

I have defintely seen adult B&W photosets I like, but in general I only like color. I can't really explain why B&W just doesn't "do it" for me and I wish I could! I can appreciate the artistic quality of B&W, but to me it isn't very erotic.

I think that's a good idea and had been what I voted for back when you guys had a poll about it. I'd love a daily poll, but figured that might be a little tough to manage while keeping them fresh. Keep it up, you creative team you! ;)

I think the changes are great, although I did have a question. If someone gets the 30 required "Yes" votes for the Trusted Badge, but then has some of those votes changed to "No" (presumably by writing a review or comment that meets with some disapproval) does that person lose the badge? Not a big thing, but it occured to me while I was reading about the changes and thought I'd ask!
