If the previews or the free tour was really lacking, I might consider but many sites and the reviews here give me enough info to go for the whole month to start with.
On some sites they say you should cancel your subscription few days before the rebilling. Is that even possible with these one day trials or do they result often in accidental recurring membership?

I see a difference between free and 1$ trials. I've never had any trouble joining a site for 1$ and canceling immediately to avoid an expensive rebill; I only do 1$ trials from reputable billing companies (epoch most of the times).
Free trials, on the other hand, are often used by cam sites to lure you into handing your credit card details in exchange for access to unlimited free chat; never had billing issues but, once you do that, it gets much more likely that you'll end up buying cam minutes there.

Not worth the effort. I almost always go for the 1-month membership. Haven't found any sites I am interested in that are offering me a $1 trial. Also, the $1 trials I've seen have a very expensive renewal rate, far more expensive than the regular 1-month fee.

You get what you pay for, too much bait and switch with these. $3-10 trials are usually okay, but less than that I have had a lot of problems with and now avoid.
I would love to find site with those extremely low trial costs or even free, but I do not see it happening anytime soon.

I tried some when I didn't know much about porn sites. I got burned when they rebilled even after I cancelled.

I go with not worth the effort. Some of them are scams. It's all the stuff I hear on PU that keeps me from trying one. Have never taken one and probably never will.

If they're *really* just trials, then they're great. If it's a scam site, then it's a scam site. I would only go for trials listed on TBP, and if anything goes wrong, that will reflect poorly on TBP.

"Not worth the effort" is what I'd say, but they're not all scams. I joined Teen Pink Video once -- long after my "debut" review of it here -- for a buck and was able to cancel without getting into a hassle. I thought of it as a dollar for a look to see if I'd like it better.
Wasn't worth the effort ...

I consider most of them to be some kind of scam. I don't have any proof because I don't think I've ever joined one but I can't see it worth it for any decent site to offer full acces for one day to all comers for a dollar. I can see offering a few tidbits that aren't worth a dollar because you can easily get 10,000 people to take you up on your offer and that means a lot of cash for little loss.

The one dollar trial sites usually are poor porn websites

i've never tried a trial.
three reasons:
- slow broadband, so wouldn't be able to try much content
- i'll make up my mind from site tour, previews and/or tbp/pu reviews
- i'd probably forget to cancel

I've had very different experiences with trials. I was extremely happy with the 1$ trial offer I recieved from Twistys; I felt scammed by the limited trial (which didn't clearly say that would be limited) from Lesbian Foot Lover; and in Flashy Babes, I directly got scammed: they charged me the whole month membership even if I had cancelled not once but three times.
So, I've learned my lesson with trials: always make sure that the trial offers full access, or at least that its conditions are clearly stated; and only join sites with CCBill, Epoch or similar billing systems.

Question is not specific enough.
$1 trial through a reputable billing company, then it's okay.
$1 trial through an unknown or in-house billing, then far more often than not it is some type of scam to charge higher amounts to your card.

Problem is, in my opinion, that a $1 trial is very non-specific about how much content you'll be able to see.
If I'm going to throw down my cc info on your site, even if it's not going to be charged until after the trial, I want some garuntee of what I'm going to see. Since, from what I've heard, it's hit and miss on the trials. I just pass.

Never signed up for a trial and I dont think I ever would. If the free area + reviews on this site are not enough to convince me to join, I certainly wouldnt spend cold hard cash to be convinced.

I think the general consensus is that trials are BS and I fully agree. Every time I tried them out I got burned, in fact I now avoid any site that offers a $1 trial.

I love them only when they are full access and deals with a creditable billing company like epoch which is easy to cancel

REPLY TO #13 - nadiencendia :
you can use the sister site thebestporn.com to check most sites to see if it is a full trail.
