I, too, am glad to see you back in this Forum, Toadsith. I always enjoyed your posts and company.

As to Heinlein, you wrote: "I do find it rather funny that a former naval Lieutenant would become a proponent of bisexuality and be described by Issac Asimov as a "flaming Liberal".

Seems strange that Asimov should see Heinlein as a flaming Liberal! To me it always seemed as if he had a split personality.

He was far from conservative when it came to sexuality in his later books, yet his philosophy of life appeared to be staunchly conservative and right wing. A favorite saying of his was TANSTAAFL: there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. He very much approved of the Darwinian model of "sink or swim" (Farnham's Freehold), and early books like "Starship Trooper(s)?" were definitely right wing in their glorification of militarism.

However I enjoyed his early work immensely even though I've always been a Liberal at heart. He WAS a darn good SF writer. Edited on Apr 23, 2012, 10:32am

That was an unasked question of mine as I wrote the above, Pat. Is it now acceptable to keep your cap or hat on, not only in Restaurants but at home? I don't get out much, but there was a time not too long ago when a person was considered ill-mannered and boorish if they didn't remove their caps/hats the moment they stepped inside .. at least when it came to Restaurants and someone's home (including your own).

Those guys in porn videos tend to drive me crazy. First you have all that blustering, macho talk as they cruise around looking for their prey (Bangbus etc.), which is bad enough, but I really hate it when they keep their baseball caps on (backward) in a sex scene.

That's worse than in the old time stag movies where the men invariably kept on their black socks during sex! We are moving in tasteless, tacky, crude and ill-mannered circles, folks .. it's a good thing there's the odd video or gallery of redeeming value to ease my unease over being found in their company.

The women are fine, of course!!!

Just ranting before going to bed!

I think you might be mistaken about that one, CT. Never having submitted a story to any of the sites I mentioned I am not sure what their rules are but I know that all the authors there are sharing their work for free and do it mostly for the gratification that comes from publishing their creation.

BTW, using one post because it's getting late in Atlantic Canada, thanks for your tip re. movie maker in the other thread.

Thanks, CT. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition. I'll have to check and, if I have it, learn how to cut and paste. It would be mostly cut, though. A lot of cut .. especially the inane macho bull you get at the beginning of so many scenes.

Just a "by the way" lk2fireone. Many of the books can still be found on sites like Literotica (or is it ASSTR?). And now they are free! I recognize quite a few from my younger years when reading books was pretty well the only porn I could get my hands on in Canada. Unless you count "Playboy" as porn.

I read somewhere that authors, non-erotica ones, that hold digital rights for their short fiction sometimes put individual stories on sale apart from their collection. It's a way to get people to sample your work at a reduced price and entice them to buy the whole collection.

Erotic stories were my first real exposure to porn, atrapat, forgetting about the nude pictures my class mates would pass around, and I have always found them highly stimulating. I remember with fondness Henry Miller, Pauline Reage (The Story Of O) among others, and still go to erotic story sites quite frequently when other porn gets tedious in its sameness.

There is nothing like your imagination, added to a well written story, to get you going. It is necessary to be an avid reader to start out with, though, otherwise you'll just "read" the words rather than see the story play out in your mind as a living thing.

I would most strongly disagree, Thomas. I've always enjoyed erotic stories and find that most of the comments at Literotica, as one example, come from men. Women like their porn with a lot of romance thrown in and are more likely to find that in books rather than erotic stories web sites. But seeing that I am not a woman it's just possible that I read them wrong.

^Personally I don't think you would be very successful CT. There are too many free sex stories available out there. Since TBP is not interested in written porn I don't think I violate any rules if I say that between ASSTR, Literotica, Mind Control Stories and BDSM Library they have every imaginable subject covered ... and abundantly.

You could submit one or some of your stories to Literotica and see what readers have to say about your style, grammar etc. Literotica because there is a way to vote on a story, which would give you a pretty good indication if you should step out commercially or not. If the response is mainly positive .. try selling your eBook and good luck with your endeavor.

Heinlein was an important part of my formative years. In Stranger he discovered sex. Youd not think it possible for a 15 year old lad to find sex tiresome, but alas

Years later, I was introduced to Heinlein in a caf in Santa Cruz and acknowledged him for affecting my literary evolution. He was a delightful man with a twinkle in his eye. We did not touch upon his discovery of sex. I feared getting him started.

Shortly after his death, Heinleins widow allowed the printing of the unabridged edition of Stranger , containing several hundred additional pages. All my life Ive heard authors complain of the heartbreaking chore of dealing with evil, soulless editors.
After reading this unabridged edition, my first and only thought was
THANK GOD FOR EDITORS I had a new respect for this thankless craft. Most everything Heinlein wrote after that was steeped in sex. I made it through two or three of them and then put him aside.

Ah, Heinlein. I adored his books as a young man but, just like you, I was not particularly fond of "Stranger In A Strange Land" or the books that followed. For sex I turned to Henry Miller and Pauline Reage instead!

Typed on a tablet in bed! Ain't progress grand?

Back to the PC in the a.m.:

Something I couldn't do last night on the tablet (see above) and that was to mention that I consider Lenny Bruce to be the watershed when it comes to comedy in the 20th Century.

There is pre-Lenny Bruce humor and post-Lenny Bruce humor. That makes him an icon in the field. Like him or not. Edited on Apr 10, 2012, 09:34am

An answer to you and Micha:

I think this is the reason why a younger generation finds the new comedians funny while we (my generation) don't. With Newhart, Berman (my two favorites), Don Rickles, Jack Benny, Jonathan Winters, Bob Hope, Red Skelton, the early Richard Prior, the early Phyllis Diller etc. jokes revolved mostly around absurd and funny situations.

Then came that Jewish boy (not trying to be offensive, I really can't think of his name at the moment) who wanted to test the bourgeoisie's limits of tolerance, and loved to see them turn red with anger, when it came to the "f" word and others that were considered to be taboo at the time.

Ever since, most comedies and comedians have followed his example and concentrate on shocking folks like me while their present day audience howls with laughter.

I've really tried to understand and get used to the new ways since I want to get my money's worth out of HBO but can't muster up a single laugh when it comes to the new crop of comedians or gross-out movies. To me potty humor just isn't funny.

Times have changed and not only in Porn.

Please be aware that I am simply stating my opinion and have no quarrel with those who think fart jokes are funny. To each his own. Long live freedom of expression!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. My constant question, as an outsider, is always: how can a nation so misinterpret and twist the true meaning of an amendment and apply it to all of its citizens?

Of course, now they've dug themselves a hole and can't get out of it. If all my neighbors were armed chances are I'd go looking for a gun myself.

Stupid, stupid, stupid .. with so many (undiagnosed and angry) nut cases on the loose how can every Tom, Dick or Harry be allowed to buy something that's there for one reason only.

Forget about the "target practice" or "collector" excuses.

Self defense wouldn't apply either if no one had a gun to start out with. Yeah, I know, knives kill too .. but not on a grand scale!

I just got a 10.1" Acer tablet and love it so far but one thing that annoys me no end is the fact that I cannot delete anything that's on the desk top.

By mistake I put two of the same Icons on it, plus (this is done automatically) every site I marked as a "Favorite" also ended up on the desk top.

The use of the tablet is password protected by me so I am not worried about anyone finding Pornusers.com under Favorites. I just want to know how to delete icons, apps, favorites from the desk top.

Any idea if this can be done?

I wish I could remember the study I read only the other day. It was done by reputable psychologists and maintained that most young people's sexual attitudes and behaviour are in no way being effected by porn. Most do know the difference between the fantasy world of porn and the real world.

But who knows, maybe the family values people could come up with their own battery of psychologists who would come to a completely opposite conclusion.

Not very helpful, I know. I just know that I looked at hard porn from a very early age (11-13?), when school mates would pass a bunch of dirty pictures around, and that I didn't rush out to imitate what they represented as I got older.

To this day I love and respect women and even have the tendency to put them on a bit of a pedestal. However, I do like them a bit naughty .. so maybe that's where early porn did me in!

I would let her in, trouble is in the Miss Universe constitution it states clearly that only NATURAL born women need apply!

An interesting side light. Some who commented on the subject felt it would give her an unfair advantage because of her "perfect" enhanced breasts and she should not be allowed to participate for that reason as well.

You are wrong. Even back in the seventies "natural" never meant that all areas of the body had to be hairy. In Canada and the U.S. (don't know about other countries) women always shaved their legs, many shaved their arm pits as well. This pre-occupation with leg hair especially is a relatively recent phenomenon, most likely in reaction to the totally shaved look. Some people do love extremes.

And when some of us talk about the beautiful porn back then we are not glorifying the bush. We talk about the fact that back then the videos actually had a story to go along with the sex.

I refer in that review to the fact that they carry many of the videos that I had already from amateurhidef.com. So either one of them could have been the source. I suspect it was the latter.

The site doesn't look Eastern European, too many English names among the models, but it could be that I mostly kept the videos that originated there because the models were so cute! Edited on Mar 20, 2012, 11:00am

I have a bunch of HD files on my external hd that appear to be originating in Eastern Europe and are of excellent quality.

I wanted to go back to the site where I got them to obtain the latest updates but can't remember the name of it.

There is no watermark, but all the files start with MSquaredHD. Can anyone help?

Cap'n.

OOPS .. before you start reading. I made a huge mistake by getting your "horizontal" mixed up with "portrait" style. So please ignore what's below!

Red faced messmer!!!

Capn, we are usually on the same wave length but I don't understand your reasoning when it comes to portrait vs. landscape format? Horizontal will fill a screen from top to bottom, but so will landscape if the model is shown large enough to "extend" from top to bottom. The added benefit with landscape is that the whole screen is filled, it may be with some extraneous scenery, or, if you wish, some discarded clothing. In any case you won't have those ugly black bars on either side of the picture (as in portrait) but instead a whole screen filled with esthetic wonder!

This was one of my earliest battles, getting webmasters and photographers to post more landscape format pictures in a given set because most people have widescreen monitors these days and that format fits their needs perfectly.

However, I've given up on that one in the meantime because most appear to prefer "portrait."

Oh, well, just saying! Edited on Mar 18, 2012, 03:59pm

Basically if people don't buy memberships, I don't know there is any demand and I can't sensibly commit the budget required to produce new material on that theme.

I tried relaunching it a while back and spent a lot of money on it. That didn't work. I ended up with a much better site, but sales remained at the same slow dribble.

What if the emphasis were a bit more on eroticism and less on fun, Ed? And with that I don't mean hardcore! I just took the tour of AMOC again (love the frontal shot of Siselle in her panties) and for my taste (let me stress) it all seems too playful. I see the strip but not the tease.

I did not see any sultry, smouldering strips done in a bedroom by a lady who is getting ready for love making, as one example!

Neither did I see any nighties ... imagine this scenario (drool) a woman enters her bedroom, gets completely undressed and then puts on a flimsy, diaphanous nightgown ... man, a scene like that now and then and you'd have me! Ladies in camisoles would be nice too, so would ladies clad in garter belts.

But instead the tour presents me with, admittedly very attractive, women who get rid of their everyday clothes in a manner that was not very arousing to me.

At least that's what I got out of the tour.

But, lest you get distressed, let me say that I take the blame for that. I got stuck in the fifties-sixties, something no web owner can correct!

Something that has nothing to do with my personal taste but might stop some from joining is the fact that you mention 30 videos, but, taken together, they only give your subscribers two hours of viewing, according to your statistics. That's an average of four minutes per strip. Hardly enough for video lovers.

I hope you know me well enough by now through this forum that you will take my remarks in the spirit in which they were made.

I am not belittling your site, Ed .. simply once again wishing with a sigh that I could find something that appeals to my left-behind taste and hoping that I might give an aspiring webmaster with deep pockets a little push to take a chance on something a bit more retro, something that would take me back to a time when women still needed an hour to get ready to go out and ten minutes to get undressed.

I do wish you and your sites well.

I think music is essential when it comes to solo videos and annoying as hell when it overpowers a conversation in hardcore.

I think you are right about the "generic package" .. people really got nervous when one site got sued for not paying royalties for the tunes they used and for a while there was deafening silence in all videos. Some cheered this as an improvement but, as I wrote above, a solo strip or dance without any sound at all was weird, to say the least.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that the certificate the sites are showing (USC 2257) is genuine and proof that a model's age was thoroughly checked. I always look for that guarantee before I sign up with a site. But forgeries of birth certificates are possible I suppose.

I am trying to remember the name of an American porn starlet, back in the eighties, who pretended to be eighteen until it was revealed that she was only sixteen. I had a VHS tape that featured her and know that it was very quickly destroyed in my rush to stay legal ! Darn, what was her name .. I hate when that happens!

If a site gives me a choice I invariably choose mp4. The files are smaller than wmv and are just as good in quality (if not better).

It used to be I would see a movie, and still retain the basic plot. But now I see and movie, and if I see it one or two years later on TV, I oftentimes don't remember that I saw it before, or at the end of the movie, I think to myself, "Did I see this beofre, or not?"

I know I read all the Tarzan books, and the John Carter books, when I was a teenager. Also, I think there was a series set on Venus. And Burroughs also wrote some stand-alone novels that I read, like the Monster Men, that I really enjoyed. But I think there were a few novels I might have missed. I don't remember reading any of his westerns, and I think he wrote at least one or two of those.

When I was a teenager, I read almost anything in fiction: science fiction, westerns, mysteries, adventure, etc. Reading was one of my great joys.

And my memory was so much better then than it is now. If I picked up most books I read 40 or 50 years ago, it would be like reading a new book: the plot and characters would be new, not familiar.

I don't have Alzheimers, but it seems like the next worst thing.

Yes, there was a series set on Venus. But suffering from your type of memory I forget now what it was called! In my case, I remember some of the movies I saw as a youth but my biggest problem is with books, movies etc. that I saw only a couple of months ago. Usually I am half-way through watching a show when something rings a bell: "Gee, didn't I see this only recently?" But in a way that's great! You can read your favorite books, watch your favorite shows over and over again as long as you give them a month or so in-between!
