I read that some actresses did get them in the 70's but I never noticed it. I grew up watching porn with pubic hair so I prefer that look. Not a bush mind you but actual pubic hair well trimmed and maintained. The clam look is fine on some women but the razor rash and stubbles really detract from the fantasy aspect.

Those are all just differences in the physical aspects of models, but there are also some big differences in what is acted out in today's porn and what was done, say, only twenty years ago, regardless of what the models look like.

One good example is anal; it is almost standard in any boy-girl fare today, and seemingly becoming even more so in almost any type of content (girl-girl, solo, threesomes and groups). Now, not having any anal is what is mentioned, not the other way around. From what I have seen in American porn from the 1970s and '80s, anal was anything but standard, I suspect because most women simply didn't like it, it wasn't done very often, and therefore there was no buildup in demand from fans. Once directors and producers started to really include it in videos (Max Hardcore is probably a good early example, but I won't give him all the credit), it caught on and now floods today's market.

I am not saying women really like anal any more today than they did in the past, but I doubt the wants and needs of actresses have ever been the business's top priority -- making money is the priority. So if a girl can get more work with the back door, and she can tolerate it, then she will probably do it to make more money.

The examples you bring up of breast implants and pubic hair (or lack thereof) have become almost contagious in porn, catching on with so many otherwise beautiful young women. I would argue fake breasts look good on almost no model, and even though I prefer the shaven look, stubble and razor bumps are definitely unattractive. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I do agree they are more natural, even if porn is supposed to be a total fantasy, and it can make for an interesting scene when the dude doesn't go at for nearly an hour only to have to stand back and slap himself to the finish line.

The reason they don't do it more often is probably the obsession with size (of cumshots, not cocks) for facials and all the other cum-obsessed genres out there, so if the male talent is double tapping with every girl then they will have less 'fuel' for those types of scenes. But I don't think it would be too much for guys to fire twice (or more) every so often, especially considering the looks and enthusiasm of many of their female counterparts. I started a thread back in February, "Timeless Porn," and most of the responses were more softcore and erotic favorites (e.g. "Emmanuelle") rather than what I would call true porn.

A couple of my favorites are the French film "Romance" (1999) -- Caroline Ducey, the actress who plays the film's main character damn near gave me a heart murmur I thought she was so beautiful. It also stars Italian Stallion Rocco Siffredi, who actually has a nude sex scene with her (and it's nice and graphic, though no closeups of course). It is a pretty serious, but nonetheless very erotic, drama with lots of nudity and sex (which always help films in my opinion).

Italian director/dirty old man Tinto Brass has made some lighthearted, female ass-appreciative work -- my favorite among them being "Frivalous Lola" (1998, also called "Monella"), and "Cheeky!" (2000, also called "Trasgredire"). Both are Italian and quite funny in a girl-bending-over-with-guys-staring kind of way...what you might call erotic comedies, but since neither are American I would not call them vulgar. I would have to agree with both, but number 1 could also be a good thing because of all the choice it gives us. On the other hand, it can give us too much choice, but without decent variety, which is the problem with number 2.

Too many people do look too alike, even though almost anybody should be able to make porn because it is so easy as you said. It seems like so much hardcore is focused around the stripper/working girl paired with the steroidal (ex-?)convict. But I don't want them to look like some overly amateur couple either, where the girl is dead weight and the guy is a paunchy goofball. I guess I'm stuck wasting a lot of time trying to find the happy medium. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I wouldn't be surprised if a number of us, or at least porn consumers in general, are subconsciously attracted to models who remind them a bit of their own mothers, if never enough to raise any red flags. Or maybe we all look for a little of our mothers in our personal relationships, and this influences our choices in models.

More strongly though, I believe we at least like a little mothering in our partners and to an extent in our favorite porn stars as well (this could be a whole forum on why we chase breasts like hungry wolves). I have seen most of David Lynch's films but never the "Twin Peaks" series or the movie, so maybe one of these days, I hope.

As far as "Choke"...thumbs up. I enjoyed it, and I think I set myself up to just accept that it could not match the book but I still thought parts of it were quite funny.

I read Palahniuk's "Snuff" recently and would love to see it turned into a film, though the plot basically revolves around the shooting of a big gangbang porno, so maybe I should just watch some behind the scenes videos. Saw it a few months ago, thought it was okay. I read the book when it came out, and the whole time I thought it would be close to impossible to turn into a movie. Well, they did it, but toned down the overall content in the process. It is a pretty offbeat story (but nothing like "Fight Club"), so I am not sure if you would enjoy it. She was rescued eventually by someone who saw her from inside the ?hospital? and took her in.

This was not in a Michael Moore movie but on one of your more reputable news channels. The whole scene of this poor, disoriented woman stumbling around in a nightie was caught on a security camera.

Yes, I remember the story, where a homeless woman in LA was dropped off in Skid Row. It's a practice known as "dumping," where hospitals discharge patients away from the hospital, so as to pass the problem to someone else, in this case a nearby shelter who eventually helped her. It has supposedly been going on for a number of years, but this was caught on tape, and images have a way of making stories count in the news (think of the Abu Ghraib photos and video, or all the coverage of Hurricane Katrina).

It is definitely inhumane and cruel, but probably not the worst of the problems faced in the U.S., partly because she was not in a life-threatening condition (though still suffering from dementia and wandering around Skid Row), and also because the homeless will always need attention around the world, it's just that in the U.S. we haven't really figured out what to do with them.

Moore might have mentioned it in "Sicko," but I can't remember, and that film was really more focused on the problems of the insured, not the uninsured. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I honestly have a hard time believing that there are people in the U.S. who would not have anything critical to say about our (I mean America's, not Canada's) health care system. It will probably never be perfect, or anywhere near it -- definitely not as long as there is profit to be had and town halls to disrupt -- but to not question the current, but hopefully not permanent, system in the quest for improvement is just lazy and ignorant.

Accusing Europeans or Canadians of being socialists was just a little humor on my part, though I am afraid it's quite serious when coming from more radical elements in American politics (all sides and corners of it). Frankly, if providing health care makes a country socialist, then they are creating a good reputation for the word. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Great post Wittyguy, even if thinking seriously about the current healthcare debate (if you can call it that) can be, well, hazardous to your health. It amazes and shames me to no end how our country, through much of the system you described, has made the health and well being of its citizens into a primarily private and profit-driven issue, not a moral or ethical one -- "You need better coverage? No, fuck you! You should get a better job, and stop getting so goddamn sick while you're at it!"

Okay, that last statement was a little over the top, but so are all these concerned (uninformed) citizens at town hall meetings who think the best solution is to yell themselves hoarse at the very people who are beginning to make the efforts to unfuck the system. Will anything change? Will there be any meaningful legislation? I certainly hope so, but I am not a rich lobby or a powerful representative who can actually effect such things.

There are a few big hurdles to any reform:

- Powerful, well-financed lobbies who, though they have no voting or legislative power, can still put forth enormous effort to stay the current course, or at least stray as little as possible from it.

I will concede they have at least one basic point correct; we cannot simply put the health insurance industry out of business overnight (it'll take a good solid weekend to do that). A lot of jobs and money are in this business, so forcing it out of the loop is impractical. Unfortunately, most of the lobbies' work is to defend doctors and companies, not customers/patients. Their biggest win would be a law, or laws, requiring everyone to purchase insurance, even if they couldn't refuse to cover as much care, or raise premiums as much.

- The holdout politicians, on either side of the political spectrum.

Yes, Democrats control Congress, but so what, if they refuse to agree on reform? And Republicans seem to be trying hold off for as long as possible, either to enact only minor reforms, or simply not pass anything at all. The idea of "We can't pass anything now, not until we can get it right" is a familiar tactic. If they can delay any legislation long enough, it may not be "Obama's Waterloo," but it may be in a different political climate, where health legislation is no longer passable.

- Dumb, reactive citizens, who either don't try and understand the realities of the current system, or just don't want to.

No, no single person can understand it all, but on the other hand you can't just sit back and say "well, the U.S. has the best healthcare system in the world," when there is simply no comparative data to support it. Even more amusing is the wonderfully self-defeating mantra of "the U.S. has the best healthcare system in the world, if you can afford it." And you can drive the safest cars sold in the world, if you can afford one.

Yes, we may very well offer the best healthcare money can buy, but a person's health should not be an episode of MTV's "Cribs," where whoever has the biggest bank account winds up with the best stuff. Maybe I am old-fashioned, but whatever happened to a basic right to life? Is an individual's less-than-perfect career path or genetic shortcomings also his or her own "choice" in medicine?

Wittyguy, I hope you are way off in predicting nothing will happen until the next presidential election. By then, other issues may at hand (like where the hell is Obama's real birth certificate?), and health reform may once again be returned to the dust bin of good ideas with not enough smart people to make them work. I am more worried about it being next year's election issue, which could break the majority in Congress, and force any proposed legislation into a snail's pace towards passage (and which then might survive long enough until the 2012 presidential election, and become an even greater ball-breaker).

Well, I better stop before I have a stroke (and then get get denied coverage because my social and political beliefs are preexisting conditions). Oh, and I though Medicare was going broke in 9 years. :) "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Yeah, it's probably the reason more external drives aren't made with metal cases -- too much liability if a frustrated user chucks it at his or her significant other. I have one that has an aluminum case and it could probably hurt someone pretty badly if thrown hard enough, but I wouldn't risk it with the stuff I have uploaded to it.

I am surprised no one has mentioned it here, or started a new thread (please do, if someone feels it's appropriate), but writer and director John Hughes has died. Well, maybe instead of running to the bathroom, we just relieved ourselves through our tears of sorrow (of realizing we were watching "Titanic"), joy (Yea! RunPee sounds like a good idea for the casual moviegoer, but my philosophy is that real movie fans don't take bathroom breaks, dammnit! Okay, I'm not old enough to need Flomax yet, nor do I buy my drinks by the half gallon, so it's easy for me to criticize, but I'm not paying this guy even a dollar to tell me when to use the bathroom (or someone else to tell me where) -- I thought that was the girlfriend or wife's job.

With these URLs, I wonder if either of them had to buy the domain names from a porn company? ;) "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I prefer his earlier work, which seems more original (okay, "Reservoir Dogs" is basically a modern update of Stanley Kubrick's "The Killing," but I still like it), but I really can't stand either of the Kill Bills. I don't know if the style just overwhelms me more than the characters and the story, but I really think it's all show and no depth.

One of the films that was a big inspiration for Kill Bill, particularly Uma Thurman's Bride character, was a 1974 Swedish film called "Thriller: A Cruel Picture." It's about a teenage girl forced into prostitution who eventually uses her free time and her earnings to buy weapons, learn martial arts, and eventually get bloody and slow motion revenge on her pimp (no, that's the real plot). I saw it on DVD last year; it's pretty slow (too much slow motion) but plenty violent, sexually graphic, and the influence on the Kill Bill films is obvious. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I am afraid it's a remake of an Italian film from 1978, which itself was a sort of homage to "The Dirty Dozen". So now he's now longer stealing -- I mean paying homage to -- his favorite films, but instead just outright remaking them. Hey, it's easier than thinking up a whole new story. Frankly I got tired of Tarantino in the late '90s, or at least I later realized I had after I saw the first "Kill Bill".

And I also got tired of new WWII films, and almost all new war films in general, since Spielberg's "Saving Private Ryan" was released a few months later. It's not a terrible film by any means, but definitely far from my favorite film, or even favorite war film, and not even close to the unquestionably great masterpiece that everyone seems so determined to defend it as. (This also was around the time of the birth of that bullshit term "Greatest Generation," so anything short of absolutely loving the movie has been tantamount to blasphemy.) Looks like more of a converter and compressor program than a video editor.

Can't say I am too interested in reediting sites' posted videos, since I don't have access to the raw footage (and if I did I would probably not even get one video's final cut done...), but there are countless videos out there that are way too fucking long. Technically it is a goat fetish...I mean, I do not have a fetish. ;)

These have been some great answers, badandy! Hope you didn't lose too much downloading time in answering...

I have to respect your bravery and completeness in responding to every question, especially when trying to balance honesty and privacy. I am sure it is fun and interesting to answer these, but if I was doing one I would probably leave half of them as "No comment" replies, for fear of sounding weird or just plain boring (but probably not both).

That's stupid; you would think the least a site would do is upload some image of a lock or a key or something in order to at least try and make you feel as if it was secure.

Some of these user agreements can sound a little odd when you actually read them, if only in order to make sense legally. That is, members usually agree to "use" sites for their own personal, adult interests. Sometimes they label them for entertainment or educational purposes (I have definitely been entertained and educated many times!), or simply that you are not some government stooge out to bust the fun of their free market filth. Thanks for answering the question about gloves, badandy and exotics.

I doubt any gain in calf muscle mass could come from cycling. Cycling can keep you lean and trim, but it won't bulk you up. I have seen plenty of professional cyclists in person with very skinny legs (even calves). I am not saying they are weak by any means, just that lots of miles in the saddle doesn't produce a lot of bulk, though in exotics' case, it's probably very much genetic.

My calves have always been medium sized, but bigger than other guys who are as skinny as I am (okay, used to be -- I love Cokes and Mt. Dews too!). One thing that I always find visually disproportional is people with noticeable upper body mass but very skinny legs, somewhat like badandy mentioned being able to bench more than he can squat. Ideally the two would probably be close to equal, but the mass would not look the same in different parts of the body. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? This may be a dumb question exotics, but do you wear gloves when you use grippers? I couldn't find anything on the manufacturers site thus far, so I thought I would ask you since you sound like you have spent some time with them.

My impression was that if you were wearing gloves it might take a little more strength, due to the gloves absorbing a slight amount of energy from your hand as you grip, though I am sure it would only be a minute fraction of even their lowest rated gripper model. He's done the same "let me see your boobs" humor year after year after year. It got old real quick here.
...

I wouldn't include Stern here, simply because he is not a stand up comedian (I think part of his popularity in radio is due to not having to actually see him, same with Limbaugh), and I don't even consider him a comedian at that. I can't stand radio anyway -- outdated technology that listeners have little to no control over -- and I blame Stern for the flood of dumb male radio hosts since he got big in the 1980s. They are too many to count, but I am sure we can think of a few.

Though I know other members think differently, one comedian I absolutely can't stand is Chris Rock -- his voice cuts through me like a rusty butter knife. I am sure he is funny, but after a few minutes of hearing him I have to either be heavily medicated or receive fresh air.

Not a big fan of the redneck and blue collar comedians either, particularly Jeff Foxworthy. When their humor gets more general, rather than just address their own personal culture, it can be funny, but it seems to be only a small part of their acts. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Kind of agree with you here. My personal favorite was Conan before he went to 11:35 with "The Tonight Show." I am worried it is going to soften his comedy into a more boring mainstream filler, and from what I have seen of his newer show, this seems to be happening.

I like "The Daily Show," but prefer "The Colbert Report" (both on which actually only do it 4 times a week :) ). I think Stewart relies too heavily on video clips and correspondents. Colbert seems to really lose himself in the insanity of his character, and as a result is much more independent. His ridiculous field interviews, sketches, and the way he mocks his guests (and the overall silliness of the media and the modern day 24 hour news anchor in general) add up to an unpredictable but entertaining show. It seems like a good idea business wise, since you can attract as many customers to porn as possible, but limited outside of that intended customer base. It is sort of like fetish content, which more mainstream sites and companies deal with, but only on the side in order to bring in a few more customers.

As far as disabled porn for a disabled audience, it seems fine, especially if there are those who feel left out by more "regular porn" (that is, content made for viewers who are not audio or visually impaired in a significant way). I don't necessarily think it is discriminatory, at least not more so than porn already is -- audiences generally demand young, skinny, and sexy performers, which can be argued as discrimination against older, thicker, more average looking models.

Me personally, porn is a highly visual medium, and I am fortunate enough to enjoy it as such. In fact, some members have even mentioned how they turn off the sound in videos, or prefer photos because there is no sound, so audio porn is definitely not for them.

There is even a braille edition of "Playboy," and I think the Library of Congress is required to keep a copy on hand in order to be non-discriminatory (it is currently listed on the available magazines page for the Library of Congress' National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped). Something similar in the U.S., though it hasn't caused much, if any, of an uproar, was when Pfizer offered seventy of its prescription drugs (including the little blue pill, Viagra) to customers who had recently lost their jobs. This is purely on the private side of things, since the specter of socialized medicine haunts many Americans, but still probably not the best thing for Pfizer or those who are unemployed. To me, Carlin is the king. I respect anybody who so successfully pissed off so many people for so many years, and all in the name of comedy. :)

Lewis Black is a wonderful mix of anger and cynicism, and I prefer his stand up specials over his cable and network TV appearances. The Daily Show is well done, but way too restrictive for him, like the late night talk shows he has performed on.

Bill Maher is probably my favorite living comedian, and seems to be more comfortable on HBO ("Real Time with Bill Maher") than he ever was on ABC in the '90s and early 2000s, when he was eventually fired in the post 9/11 hysteria. He still has to deal with a lot of celebrities and politicians on his current show, who can drag it down, but he is so frank and forward in his comedy that I always find something to laugh at.

Oh, and Patton Oswalt is just goofy, dumb fun. He has no reservations about making fun of himself, especially as a fat, nerdy loser. His rants about fast food, his increasing weight, and his love of comic books and Star Wars are hilarious. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I am kind of surprised you are an engineer, or at least educated as one, but when I think about some of your posts in threads past, it makes sense. You spoke about your hard drives setups as if you were an engineer, and maybe the fact that you haven't started a massive fire, or some kind of Internet porn black hole, means you know what you are doing.

I would have thought you would be more involved in computers (though I am sure engineering involves a lot of computer work now) so you could educate yourself on how to best download and manage vast, vast, vast amounts of data (porn), all while protecting it. Maybe you can design a new external hard drive system, with easy tooless upgrade capabilities, great cooling, and maybe even learn some metalworking in order to build a prototype. Who knows, maybe you could go work for Sony or Panasonic and design "waterproof" video camera cases for the porn business! "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Hopefully you (and all of us here at PU as well) could get some kind of grandfather clause, because otherwise...well, I don't even want to think about it.

Maybe medicinal could mean an alternative to Viagra or Cialis -- it is probably cheaper and safer (and has yet to be publicly endorsed by any idiot senators). Plus, it's got to be good for relieving stress, or at least the first step in doing so, plus it helps relationships, not to mention all the people who claim they are "addicted" and could be using drugs instead.

I think this is good advice; a little subjectivity never hurts in a review. I personally like it because it can make for a more interesting review and you can learn about members' tastes, which can help in judging their other reviews.

I have said it before, but you have to take the reviewers' biases in to consideration. For example, I have little patience for the softcore, more art-oriented sites out there, and as a result I have neither joined nor reviewed, or even commented, on any. It would be hard for me to really give a great review because I just could not get over my personal distastes for those sites. If I ever did review one, and I was totally objective, readers might not understand my arguments, and it would make for a pretty useless review. This is also why people need to look beyond scores (individual and average), since they are not the greatest guides when trying to judge a site.

A lot of members already state their personal tastes and preferences, usually with a sentence or two in the bottom line, or further clarification when responding to members' replies. Many members even go one step further in their reviews and mention content that did not bother them but might turn off potential subscribers, such as condom use or hairy models.

A list of cold hard facts should stay in the pros and cons, and the reviewers' feelings should really be in the bottom line, where they can defend their viewpoint better. If readers are really interested in every technical detail, the "[Site's Name] Site Facts at TBP" link at the top of each site's page is helpful, and maybe this link should also be somewhere on the individual review pages (the ones where the replies are shown).

The cheat sheet definitely helps, but I see it as a rough guide, not the letter of the law, and the fact that every member has his or her own way of writing reviews, we end up with lots of interesting opinions and ideas, many of which might not be seen if we all followed the sheet precisely. What country doesn't have bigger problems than porn (okay, besides the U.S., at least as imagined by those fighting the make believe culture war)? And if porn was a country's biggest problem, wouldn't that make it a pretty nice place to live? No crime, no poverty, no hunger, just lots and lots of porn. :) "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Man, that sucks! I didn't really think schools would tell teachers how to grade, at least in terms of pen color. Come to think of it, none of my recent professors have used red ink... Personally I don't have a problem with it, since it makes it easy to spot what a teacher wrote, but I am not very politically correct to begin with, nor I am too sensitive (after 3 years in the military, the professors seem like they baby their students).

We do fill out evaluation forms in each class at the end of the semester, which are taken pretty seriously (might affect job security), and offer students a place to make subjective comments. I think few students care about them, but I am sure there are some who use them to vent. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Yeah, how else are you going to clean both the inside and outside?

But seriously, I would just use water and a soft cloth or cotton towel. Paper towels will work, but I believe they can scratch, especially ones with a lot of recycled content, as they might have a minute amount of metal in them. The problem is, paper towels might not look like they scratch at first, but you could eventually have a subtle brushed look to the screen.

And even though we see it all the time in porn, spit is not recommended...unless you are really pissed at the monitor. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? I wonder if badandy400 could ever legally donate some of his old hard drives to start a porn museum (maybe when they pry them from his cold dead hands :) )?

Intellectual property is always a gray area, as if the copies of art and entertainment we buy are strictly for our own private use, even though I am sure we have all shared movies, music, and maybe even porn (though apparently not downloads) with friends and family. If we overhear someone's sound system as it rattles their car apart, does that mean we have to pay the artist for overhearing it? What about music we hear at a party, or a film we see at a friend's house?

I think DRM is just a stupid way to piss off loyal paying customers, who make sites more money than they lose to piracy. The original DRM thread, started by a webmaster defending the practice, sparked a passionate debate, with many long and thorough responses, and why, if we understand it to sometimes be necessary, we still hate it too much to support it. I have seen him in quite a few videos, though nothing that really stuck in my mind. I frequently get him mixed up with Mark Davis (IAFD pic has him with hair; Wikipedia's image is more current), even though he is about fourteen years younger than Rod.

I would disagree with jd1961 and say there are male stars, or at least a few legends, who have actually made it in the business without ending up in jail, rehab, or the morgue. And though I am not sure we would all admit it, but there are probably a few male stars we enjoy seeing in hardcore scenes, though not necessarily because we are attracted to them, but simply because we know they will please the actress(es) and "act" reliably in every scene. If not that, then there are a few we do not want to see. I know there are members who hate it whenever Ron Jeremy or Lee Stone enter the frame, as well as some others. This has been a fun year thanks to all the positive people on PU.

Great post! I am surprised you have only been here for a year, considering all of your badges and points, but you earned them.

I definitely agree with the comment about the way reviews are written (including my own), and that you never get a true feel for what a site is really about just from reading its reviews. And yes, Gcode and exoctics4me are great reviewers, as well as Denner and Drooler (who gave me some of my early trust ratings).

I joined about fifteen months ago, after discovering PU through TBP, which was the only place I found that I could actually trust as far as site reviews go. It seemed like all the other sites were cluttered with too many ads, bias, and hot air. When I found PU it was even better, because of the wider range of opinions, plus the great forum, which is where I spend most of my time when I am on PU.

Hope for more great reviews in the future. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hardcore Commie works." - Gen. Jack D. Rippper, Dr. Stranglove
