Big is beautiful. I like the 6000 px images at HegreArt, and I'm also pleased that MetArt, MetModels, Penthouse, and several other sites have images available past 3000 px. I haven't joined a site that offers under 1600 px in a while. Was just looking around ClubSandy and PixAndVideo and thinking how nice the newer pics looked, but that I won't join them again until they go bigger than their 1280 size. How big is too big? No, it's not just just you. A few months ago, I unwittingly signed up for eronata, and that's a girl I'd already seen all over the place sporting nothing but her natural charms. I reviewed the site, too. Was also told here in reply that the non-nude crap (my word choice) was coming to an end. I look at sites like onlytease and see all of this exclusive stuff of these dynamite babes and think, "Why? Why stop and park at Lingerie Junction?" Never have joined it. Oh, also know this about mypreciousvirgins. They have LOTS of non-nude stuff, along with some nice nude stuff, too. I'd recommend the site for a first timer with that caveat in mind. You know, I've got a question while we're on the subject: What do you pic fans do with the photos of the girl giving the finger? These show up rather routinely at ALS Scan and ALS Angels, but sometimes at other sites, too. I mean, I guess it's kinda cute 'n all for the girl to give the viewer (or is it the photographer?) a little what-the-fuck FU treatment, but the only place those pics live on my hard drive is in the recycle bin, all ready to be overwritten with other sub-prime smut. Well, thanks, jd. I appreciate the acknowledgement. But I'd also like to acknowledge that Snowdude is 52-0. Roseman is 50-1, and exotics4me is 49-1, those 1's certainly being negligible. And Denner and nygiants03 have positive trust marks in the 40's, well above the 30-point badge requirement. Certainly we've all worked hard to gain that much trust. After reading replies to a fairly recent poll on the subject, I realized how unhip I was using Internet Explorer. But fuck it, it works fine for me most of the time. But not always. Every long once in a while large pics from certain sites will open as MB-devouring .bmp files. One helpful chap around here told me that Firefox doesn't have that problem, and he was right! So I keep Firefox handy for that. Sure, I could use Firefox for everything, but I have just never gotten around to it. It's my bad. Firefox does seem to download faster than IE. I'm also a fan more of solo photosets, especially ones without sex toys, than any other variety in porn (though some seem to think that solo posing sets aren't really porn). There have been other threads that have delved into one or more of the issues that you've discussed. Recently, one on photosets indoors or out yielded an interesting string of comments, including some from Toadsith, who has experience in photography. We also had a poll about number of pics in a photoset. 45% agreed with your number of 100. Poses, posture, angles, lighting, clothing and most of all the personal appeal of a model of course benefit or dimish the quality of a photoset. I must say that there are no sites I've ever been to that "get it right" in all of those ways very often according to my own increasingly stringent standards. By now I've gotten to be so picky that when I look through my archives of stuff collected a few years ago, I'm suprised sometimes at what I used to consider "good enough." In other words, I'm part of the problem. It's the downside of refining over the years what one likes and finds acceptable. But I least know for sure what I like! ;) All things considered, it doesn't surprise me that I'm finding less and less of it. Off the top of my head, photographers who generally -- certainly not always! -- do work I especially appreciate are Russ T, Fred, and Tim Fox. And I tend to like the outdoor EroticDestinations stuff by Martin Krake better than the indoor EuropeanGlamourGirls mostly because he doesn't often have enough light indoors. I used to be a big fan of Peter Hegre (HegreArt). Every once in a while he'll still put something out I'll score a "10" on his site. Anyway, I think again it's mostly me getting pickier. Well, we can discuss this and who knows if maybe something might improve somewhere because of it. And then maybe we could find that something. I'm with Wittyguy on this point. "Tight makes right," to turn the phrase ... Now, fisting might well have some practical purposes. Don't have a lot of customer service experiences, but I will say that rigin-studio and hegre-art have been responsive and helpful. And they're not native speakers of English, either, though they do quite well considering that. Rigin recently stopped posting zips and I asked about it and got a response within less than 24 hours. I appreciate Rick (reply #16) and Khan (esp. reply #28) going to the trouble of explaining how "The List" would just be a big can of Death Worms. It's enough that the facts speak for themselves and that user opinions be taken as such. And even if we had "The List," people would still join sites, feel burned, and resent it. One more thing to consider: Imagine the "The List" coming into being, being legally challenged (the pitfalls already having been sufficiently explained by others), and then lawyer's costs and a settlement wiping TBP and PU off the web. FYI, we had a related poll on this a while ago. In the poll, to date 45% of the respondents said that a $30 per month site should have 50 galleries and vids on launch. I agree with what BadAndy400 said. We don't need an official blacklist anyway. What we have is good enough. We get warnings from TBP, which has itself improved quite a bit in this regard, and we get warnings at PU from individual users. Adding extra layers to this wouldn't serve the purpose any better. I do agree with Denner that MetArt's been doing too much outdoor stuff lately, though I did like the most recent sets of Susie Carina and Euphrat. The sand was kept off Euphrat enough that I could enjoy, and Susie was on a rocky "beach." But those girls can carry a scene so well you kinda forget about where it is. But even the MetArt indoor scenes can be a bummer sometimes. Enough with the girl in a big dark puddle of water on the floor and light shining through the spray and all that. Jeez! I would imagine that scheduling outdoor shoots that have good light is a logistical challenge. The models have to be scheduled probably before the actual weather conditions are really known. Clouds move and the light changes constantly before, during, and after a shoot. I don't like it when heavy shadows show up on the models being shot outdoors. This happens at HegreArt sometimes, but he seems to like the interaction of shadow on the girl's curves anyway. I must say that I'm generally more satisfied with the way they're done at MPL Studios and the stuff that shows up at TeenDreams and Babelicious. But even so, sets shot at dusk are a turn off because of all of the shadow, lack of light, and loss of color. I love a gorgeous sunset just as much as anyone, but not when it makes it hard to enjoy Peaches' peaches. And then we can add other factors: sand, mud, dirt, grass, and "critters." I don't care for pics of girls dipped in sand batter as if they're some kind of porn tempura, but I do remember once when Linda O'Neil's site was active and she'd fulfilled a request for a pic of herself wearing a coating of the stuff on her lovely backside. Grass is OK, but not when a big shaft of it is upstaging the girl's ass. I hate that, and I've seen it more times than I care to remember. But I've not seen it much recently. I'm pretty sure we had a discussion about this before in response to a poll question, but I couldn't find the poll (did several searches). Maybe someone was reading? ;) OK, so tall grass is not OK. Getting back to MPL, they do "at dusk" sets sometimes; I usually skip them. And one recent one of Anya got pared down real good by yours truly once I'd dissed all of the ones of her wearing pieces of seaweed. Eccchh! And then there's "critters." Flies know where the goodies are. I've had to discard pics thanks to our little 6-legged friends posing along the crack of delightful babes such as Evelyn Lory (if memory serves me). The photographer probably just didn't notice the fly, or flies, messing up the shot. But if they are noticed, I suppose they could bring out fly swatters and then things would get kinda kinky. ;) Outdoor sets are OK, but sometimes the "creativity" needs more careful consideration. Ditto on what you've said in comparing photosets to videos. I just don't feel like waiting longer, for a video, just to go through it in a matter of a few minutes, just to say, "Great. Another piece of crap for the bin." With photosets, you can preview them pretty quickly and know whether they're worth it. At least with PU I can get a good idea of video quality at certain sites from certain fellow users. They've saved me time, money, and frustration. Hats off! Recently I've noticed what seems to be a growing trend of one website posting content from another: An ALS Scan gallery showing up at 1byday A Pretty4Ever gallery showing up at AmourAngels A Watch4Beauty gallery showing up at Pretty4Ever (of course, they're the same company) This seems to me to be a cooperative marketing ploy to get members (and sometimes even visitors) of one site interested in another. I wonder how well it works? To me, it's a letdown when content from a different site takes the place of what could have been fresh, new, exclusive content. One example is the Iveta B gallery that has shown up at Pretty4Ever. And that gallery is better than the average on offer at Watch4Beauty, meaning in my opinion that it doesn't really represent Watch4Beauty, which I think is overall a pretty boring site. This is of course different from what, say, MetArt does with content from errotica-archives. MetArt posts Errotica content, but it's always unique and exclusive to MetArt and doesn't show up at Errotica. That I don't mind a bit. You know, this thread was started a month and a half ago, and I was just looking through the new listings at TBP. You know, there have been scads of new listings over the past 30 days -- 181 that have a "site birth" within the past 2 months. Kinda weird how so many businesses are in huge trouble and how much people are cutting back on holiday spending, yet porn just seems to keep growing, with new offerings, at what would seem to be a wildly "speculative" rate. I'd never heard of it, but I had a look around. It's non-exclusive stuff. Some of it looks rather dated (a young Tiffany Diamond vid). I've seen a few of the ones there at CrystalClearMovies (which was having technical difficulties today). But there seem to be relatively newer things, too. Here's one: kissak.com "Well designed means quicker access to content." Right. I suppose that dovetails nicely with it having NO zip files and thumbs that don't match the images on expansion. Or your having to click the little "1000" circle and then click "OK" to get images to expand at 1600px (not that I'm complaining about the dimensions, it's just that the site seems to be a proverbial camel, a horse designed by a committee). "Continuosly updated with the freshest original content." Right. There haven't been any updates for the past week. They did "announce" as their December issue a gallery of Jenni (the Czech girl with the bubble butt) which they'd already posted. The number of models is 17. The number of photo galleries is 22. No, they're not exactly posting at a breakneck pace. But photo quality is very high and the models are a select group of Czech babes that I personally never get tired of: Marina/Euphrat, Andi, Misa (Michaela Kaplanova), Bijou, Vendula, Tereza Ilova, Susana Spears ... I'd just prefer that what they say on their front pages is actually true or, better yet, that they have zips and that whoever does the posting of the galleries bothers to take the trouble to make sure that it's done right. It's not too much to ask. So this might look like a review, but really it's just info for anyone who might have seen this site listed at erohtica. Don't expect much for your $20. And I'm not trying to encourage its being listed at the TBP. It needs to be a better site before that happens, IMHO. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. Yes, I'd ask, "How do you want to find this content?" Then choose what's most agreeable to your own way of thinking. I'm like Toadsith. I've been organizing content from the start. I'd say organizing by content provider is OK except for one little glitch: sometimes the same content shows up at the different providers. That's probably not a bother for Toadsith, but for me, it's one reason to organize principally by models/performers. But it's just how I think, I guess. I idolize 'em. But there's a downside to the way I do it, too. Being mostly a pic collector, I've now got more Olga's, Nikki's (not to mention Nicky's and Niki's), Ann's, Anne's, and Anna's than I can shake a stick at. Tip of the proverbial iceberg. Funny you should mention it, but shortly before you did here with this new thread I submitted a poll question on the subject of the number of threads that have come up. I don't know yet whether the poll question has been accepted, so I won't jump the gun on it. It was interesting, though, to see that thoughts about how the forum is growing are floating about. You guys got me thinking about Zippy, and to have it (appropriately enough) juxtaposed with this train of thought on embedded linking, well, here's th' URL where you can get fresh Zippy every day. "Streaming only! Great!" No, I don't think that's going to wind up in the "+" box of a PU review. DRM is like those tapes at the beginning of a Mission Impossible episode. (Boy, am I dating myself!). "This tape will now self-destruct in 3 seconds. SSssssssss." Streaming would be like Phelps dialing up and listening on a secured line. But for the sake of argument, should streaming ever become the modus operandi of Internet porn, I'll just delve into my substantial collection of already acquired, DRM-free I-porn. I've seen "In The Heat of the Night" several times. It is a great movie! Funny how it was what became known later as a "buddy movie," but of course it was a lot more serious than most. Both leads were complex characters, heroes who were also fallible. And Steiger's performance was masterful. The way he would twitch and look up after rubbing his chin when confronted with the realization that he was dealing with something he didn't know how to handle -- things like that -- it was fine acting. Sorry, I'm starting to write review of a movie. LOL. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. | |

I'm a bit late in getting into this thread, but I'll say that yes, PU is a site I visit pretty regularly (heads all nodding), and yes, it can get overwhelming. But I'm not complaining. No, sir. Sometimes I just look to see what the latest is. Then there are echoes in my mind of all of the self-help time-management stuff I ingested in my teens and 20's. Or sometimes, I just need sleep -- hence my lateness to this thread. But the greatest irony, of course, is that this burgeoning of reading material is being generated by we, ourselves, and us.
