I suppose the regional pricing thing is down to personal opinion. I'm not too sure. With price in Sterling at least you know how much you're paying, but then again, if it stays in dollars, say, we could benefit from the exchange rate if it's favourable (as it is at the moment I believe).

I can't imagine members actually asking them to stop doing videos. They probably can't afford the costs involved. As it's from the same company that makes StraightHell.com, and their weird insistence that the site remain banned in the UK to maintain the anonymity of the performers (still waiting for my reply from their editor), it does all seem a bit fishy. And yes, given that loads of their photos are seen on blogs such as Gay Demon and Queerclick.com, I doubt if it would be worth paying the subscription.

I suppose this American law explains why the models on the Kink.com sites have to be interviewed pre and post video to give their consent and prove "no models were harmed during the filming of this flogging'! I always found those interviews a bit contrived and detracting from the fantasy.

Obviously, i'm more into the male cams, but Cam4.com is the cam site I keep returning to. Although some models (and they're mainly women) will only do stuff for tips, the vast majority, certainly of men, are amateurs who will perform for free. Anyone who visits this site will see action without having to pay. Of course, for that 1-1 experience, then tipping is recommended.

I'd joined this site for a short while a year or two ago, and had rediscovered it, looking forward to re-joining. I must admit I've been disappointed.
The site is highly original, using about 20 different guys in their 20s and thirties. They're not especially good looking, but natural. The videos and photos are of an avant garde, indie nature, and the models look like they've come out of some trendy London or NY art warehouse.
The videos and pics are mainly solo, and are generally of masturbation or posing, with whacky costumes, makeup and props, all filmed with great music and with a handheld cam. The concept is great, content is original,and can be hot at times.
My problem isn't with the concept or the guys. In fact I was really looking forward to re-joining.
There seems to have been very few upgrades in the last year or so. There are 93 videos (generally of only around 5-10mins) and 117 picture sets. Only 15 of the vids seem to be downloadable though, a massive drawback.
The site feels rough and homemade, which fits in with the arty feel, but that shouldn't detract from it being a user friendly site, and alas here it does.
There is no separate video and picture listing, so you have to open up a page and then see if there are pics or vids, or both. Only just over half of the picture sets have slideshows, so you have to thumb through pics one by one, and it's very difficult to go back to a picture you like, and many of the photo sets aren't available as zip files.
There doesn't appear to be any videos or pics of HD quality, and the earlier videos/pics do appear a bit grainy.
Regional pricing helps, and it costs £16.22 for the first month, £14.75 for subsequent months. Considering there are only a minority of downloadable videos, I find this a little steep, but still no too expensive.
This site has the potential to be excellent, and is a refreshing change from sites like RandyBlue.com or EnglishLads.com (as much as i adore these sites). It's off the wall, erotic, perhaps, rather than sexy and it's refreshing to see original ideas and photography. The guys have natural bodies - most on the slimmer side - and aren't clipped, waxed and toned like so many of the US porn sites.
All in all, this would be good for a brief look, if you're not expecting bulging biceps and hardcore fucking, and are into the indie, contemporary arts feels. But due to the above faults and infrequent uploads, wouldn't recommend a lengthy subscription. |

There have been a couple sites I've subscribed to for a few months. Usually those that upload regularly and are trusted. But I'll usually subscribe for a month, and then return a year or so later before I decide to keep a subscription. Then, of course, in the past I have forgotten to unsubscribe to a couple of sites, to my regret. Fortunately, i rarely make that mistake these days.

What a fantastic review! I checked out Club Stoke and seems t be a very similar concept to Yanks.com. i agree that if you pay for a straight site, why would you want a gay/male site included as a bonus? Seems an easy way to tempt members with the promise of bonus sites...

Alain Lamas is a straight pornstar who offers solo videos and live cam sessions for the gay market. He's a young, muscle hunk who is arrogant and cocky (that's his niche). The shows generally involve muscle flexing, stripping, shaving, masturbation and lots of hole exposure, but no insertions.He gives lots of verbal and tends to go for the humiliation/degradation scenarios in his diatribe. He certainly seems to know what his target audience wants and is very responsive and interactive.
The site contains 34 solo videos ranging from 8-29 minutes, most being available in HD. There are so far 85 live cam archives and 41 picture galleries. All videos are downloadable and in Flash player. The photo galleries tend to be stills from his videos/shows.
The videos/archives are generally of good quality and the site easy to navigate, although there is no search function and you do have to plough through all the archives to find what you want. However there is a good description of the contents of live shows/videos to help you along your way.
As is often the case in sites devoted to one person, there can be a lack of creativity. The site would definitely benefit from bonus content if it wants to keep its members for more than a month at a time. Video updates seem infrequent, but there are at least weekly cam shows which are archived.
There is a forum and a blog, but the blog hasn't been updated for a very long time and there are very few posts.
I've had problems downloading the content, but I think it's more my lack of technical know-how. I think I may not have the right player. I've downloaded the photos ok, and the videos certainly download to my laptop.
Regional pricing helps, and at £18.87 (UK pounds) I find this reasonable value since I'm a huge Alain Lamas fan.
So, if you're a fan, then there's enough to keep you going for a week or two. Lack of bonus content makes the site not worth subscribing to for any great length of time, unless you really want the weekly cam shows. And he really needs to update his blog... |
