I'm not familiar with porno dan, but I'll have to have a look anyway! I've heard rumours of an anal scene, but I figured it wasn't mainstream since it or they weren't listed on IAFD.

Failing to use multiple camera angles would make the scene loot too amateur. It'd be like a couple sets up a camera to record themselves in the act. That might make a for an interesting setup once in a long while, but I'll take my porn with higher production values, thanks.
One semi-related issue is camera movement. You gotta edit out the bits where the cameraman is setting up another shot. You aren't filming a remake of NYPD Blue. (Unless you are filming a remake of NYPD Blue, of course...)

I'm a big fan of the genre and thankfully there are several companies out there that do it well. Kink.com has been mentioned, and everyone should be so lucky as to have a porn company do their interests so much justice. The second one is Society SM, which nip at Kink's heels.
I have no idea why I like it, as i have no BDSM tendancies myself. Maybe it's the intensity of a scene so well done. And, I might add, a well done scene is all about the sub female's pleasure. If a woman has those interests, there are probably few places she can look to get that itch scratched.

I'm solidly into middle age, and like all middle age men I still think I'm eighteen. Hence the view that eighteen year old lasses are my target conquests. I'll tell you how that's going later.
A few years ago I did have a wee performance issue. I tried a certain blue pill and it did work, but I finally convinced my bride that it was fatigue at night and not E.D. We tried the morning and things worked without chemical aid. Problem solved.
The only other sexual injury (non penis though) was when I was a young lad screwing a young lass on a hotel room floor. The rug burn on my knees lasted for a week. As an idiot twenty-year-old I thought banging a chick on the floor was much more exciting than on a perfectly servicable bed.

Booze and porn go together like peanut butter and jam. I don't have a drink every time I look at porn, but some nights when I have the house to myself I'll mix a drink and settle in to watch some lovelies. But booze is all it can be. I didn't know they existed until a few months ago and then I learned the hard way. I had developed my own style of review that I thought worked but then I was only awarded one point for a review and I emailed Khan to ask why, as I had clearly written a review to surpass anything ever written before. ;-) Turns out Khan had added a note for my previous review telling me I was straying from the rules. Had I read that I would have snapped back in line right away. So I do check them now. And I follow the rules now too.

I suspect that most female stars face the looming prospect of becoming old with a lot of trepidation. And I mean 'old' in both senses - not being young, and not being fresh. But I guess I can't criticize the industry because I'm always on the hunt for young and fresh models so I'm part of the problem.
But... religion seems to be a bit of an issue too. The U.S. is well into one of its 'great awakenings' of religious fervor and that seems to impact every facet of that culture. Let's face it - to hold public office in most places in the U.S. you need to have the right religion. Right-wing fundamentalism is prevalent and it is definitely judgmental and looks down its nose at anyone who doesn't conform. (So much for the social justice and forgiveness messages in the New Testament.) All this to say that it seems that porn is impacted by religion too as several big stars have found Jesus and moved on. I can't think of the name of it now, but there is even a support group for ex-pornstars who turned to Jesus.

I agree with everything you said. I should have noted that some of the movies that I was able to relocate cost me a lot and many have some DRM limitations. That's frustrating, but there's really nothing I can do about it so I'll just have to live with it.
I also wish that I had looked at more options for storing the tapes, even if it was renting a small storage locker. That just wasn't feasible though. But when I started to go all digital (first stored on CD, then DVD and now external harddrives) I vowed to never delete anything. Storage now is small, cheap and discrete so I just won't delete anything.
As for European movies, I understand that. I wasn't a big collector, but I had one title from the L'il Women series (from Germany I think) that I'd love to have or see again. I can find some titles from that series, but not the one I want.

I had to toss a lot of my collection too, mostly because it got hard to hide hundreds of VHS tapes. That's the bad news. The good news (for me anyway) is that I've been able to find a lot of it on the 'net over the past while. Some of it is pretty poor quality, but then it was poor quality when I had it. It was often a dub of a dub.
About a year ago I concentrated on finding a lot of my old favourites and was surprised at how well I did. I'm still finding a few too. Two nights ago I was downloading and watching some old Buttman stuff and stumbled on a title that I didn't even remember but one of the thumbnails looked familiar. It turned out to be a favourite scene that I had completely lost track of and it would have been hard to find since the girl only did three scenes in her short career. (It was the last scene in Bend Over Babes 1 with a girl named Chantelle.)
As for Traci Lords, I had one of her 'early' titles too. I can't remember what it was called, but you can be sure that is one I won't go looking for!

Back when my porn collection was more bulky and not comprised of a bunch of ones and zeros that live on a discrete box, I accidentally left a drawer unlocked and my stash was discovered by a rather prudish girlfriend.
I'm much more careful these days even though I can leave an external drive sitting on my desk.

Twice. The kind with a happy ending. Both in Toronto. Thoroughly enjoyed it both times too. The first time was with a buxom lass who worked days as a bank teller. The second was with a petite Asian girl (who was born and raised in Canada). She did a body slide and that was a religious experience.

I've caught myself referring to "the good old days" sometimes, but there is no evidence that those days were so good for many things. Just a few examples (besides porn, because those definitely were NOT the good old days...)
- food: when I grew up you only got certain vegetables and fruit in season. There was no economical means to get bananas, oranges or corn from the southern U.S. to where I lived. You made do with frozen or none at all.
- cars: screw the idea that the mid to late sixties was the best time for cars. I could afford to buy a Ford compact car or even a V6 pickup that would run rings around the performance cars from when I was a kid. And I'm safer and burn a lot less fuel doing it too.
- TV: remember when all you had was ABC, CBS and NBC. We had CBC in Canada, which was pretty good, but TV is much better thanks to networks like HBO.
