I'd never heard the Mob rumor, but I do know that Peter North has never been quiet about the fact that he is bisexual. Also - for a lot of male porn stars, it is much easier to break into the Gay Porn industry as a fresh-face and then if you get a good reputation as a reliable model that performs well, you might start getting calls from directors wanting you to do male / female scenes as well. A large part of the trouble breaking into the Straight Porn industry is that the male porn stars never retire - so the demand for fresh faces is quite low. Of course the other popular route is just start your own company and make yourself the male porn star of choice - that has worked for many a name.
There really should have been an "Other (See Reply)" option - because a couple networks that I've signed up with have included Gay sites - so I suppose technically I have - but it hasn't ever been a primary choice of mine. Find it kinda boring, just not content I go hunting for.
Free sites? Yech. I do recall a time years ago when they seemed nice, but these days I can't be bothered. Ads, small photo sets, short and lousy quality videos. It is rough to say the least.
Anyway - as I am here answering this poll on a site that features the slogan "Porn reviews by the people" - I doubt it is much of a surprise that these days I exclusively surf for porn on pay websites.
Invest a spot of money and with a little bit of luck you can get exactly what you are looking for, in good time too.
Rarely do I have to trim photos from a set - but if I do it is almost exclusively for some mistake on the part of the photographer - entirely out of focus, unintentional motion blur, ridiculously bad lighting / excessive grain (think ISO 4 Billion), or if a position they've thrown the model in is really, really unbecoming. There are some poses that would require the model to be literally anorexic to sit in and not have a beer belly look going on. Bend a primate enough ways and eventually you'll get a beer gut, it is basic physiology.
In generally I don't edit out too much because, for one - I'm lazy, and also you might screw up the continuity of the set a bit. I will occasionally Photoshop photos to remove really bad zits or scars and that sort of thing, being that I use Photoshop professionally it only takes me a few seconds to do that and it makes the models look more like the "perfect" creatures that they are supposed to be.
Due to me being able to modify photos in such a manner, I hate when sites jump the gun on using Photoshop and "fix-up" the photos but do a really shitty job of it (like using the blur tool all over the model's face). It makes them look like they have cellophane for skin. I'd take the imperfect human look over the creepy android look any day.
Porn has become such a big business, that I think the sheer number of people involved protect much of the industry from the few abusive types that are responsible for some of the horror stories of old. Sure, I wouldn't be surprised that there are some models that later really regret doing porn - but I think the majority either enjoy it or are indifferent to it and like the money. I don't think there is much danger at all for the models and while sure some may be doing it to feed drug habits, any harmful events that may occur to them will be outside of the porn arena.
The really extreme porn I think is attractive to fewer models, but those that stay with it really are into it - I think that is the reason you often see the same models again and again, rather than the unending stream of models passing through the standard porn venues.
Still - I believe most models in porn, extreme or not, choose the occupation for its unique pluses: Good cash in your hand the day of for generally about 4 hours work (or less). Great hours, I've seen models complaining about an early shoot of 10 am - plus they usually don't work 5 days a week, though there are many that simply supplement their stripping career with porn. And for a number of models - the sex, many of them do like sex with or without a camera.
That said, I don't believe porn really causes any damage to anyone anymore (though there are exceptions in any business, not just porn). As for religious morality against it, well since I see most religious institutions as the instruments of some of the most horrific atrocities man-kind has commited - well, lets just say I'm not real concerned with their opinions on the subject.
So morally wrong - I don't believe so, no. I good investment of money - as user, nope - it is pretty much money burned - but the same can be said when I buy a DVD from Amazon. Time consuming, yes, very much so - and I'm sure I could spend my time more constructively but it entertains me and I think much of what life is about is finding good entertainment - whatever that may be for you.
The in browser comment is a good point - off hand I don't know of any image programs that take over to resize images for the browser. But outside the browser is a different matter - I find there are a ton of good ones - that resize down on the fly as well as Adobe Photoshop does using bi-cubic filtering.
One of the oldest and best is a program called ACDSee. It pulls up images extremely fast and resizes them flawlessly - used to be one program, now has expanded to a family of programs, with different versions for the users specific needs. If I recall correctly Abby Winters uses ACDSee to sort through their own archives of photos. It is pretty powerful program.
Personally, if I like a photoset - I download it and view the whole set on the hard drive because it gets annoying quickly to have to wait for each image to download. I actually usually use just standard old Windows Picture and Fax Viewer - it is pretty quick and quite good at resizing down.
I would say that is very subjective to the body being painted. I'm not trying to be an ass and point out the obvious gender-neutrality of the term "body painting" but rather I think that body painting is used most successfully in softcore glamour photography.
Combined with interesting lighting to throw shadows, I find that body painting can be great with very fit models with visible musculature that is accented by the shadow play and intermixed with the painted designs. Also female models blessed with long nipples really look great with full body painting as it instantly points out (har. har.) that the model is nude and the design was painted on.
However, if the body painting is done messily as in models applying paint to each other or the sort of lack-luster designs people use at raves or what not - then I'm not really interested beyond the standard "hey - that person's naked!" response.
Indeed, multi-month memberships do frequently hit that price range. It was more of an illustrative example as a lot of people won't drop a single payment of over $100 for porn, but yes it was slightly deceptive and done a bit for shock value (muhahaha). None the less, if I think a website is going to have the most freaking awesome porn ever (For example: Audrey Hepburn's secret hedonistic sex orgy parties filmed use Cinerama™ and presented to us in HD 1080p) I would indeed pay $150 per month for it. I really think that an individual user's perspective toward a monthly price very much demands on their financial situation and how much they value the potential product.
As a reviewer - I try to describe the quality of the service provided by the porn site. A general description of the content, the resolution of the content, how much of it there is, if can you see the content well (in focus, good lighting, good camera work), if the site is easy to navigate - so on. I try not to put personal tastes into the review too much other than the basic fact that I join sites I'm interested in rather than just plowing through a list in alphabetical order.
Cheers and happy a New Years to all of PornUsers.com tonight!
MET Art actually - it wasn't for just one month (though I have paid $50 for one month - I can't remember what site that was off hand though), but I did pay it one solid chunk. I got a much better deal when I paid that price - I think it was for 9 months or something - I don't recall exactly - it was years ago. I was really really into glamour photography back then - I paid $100 for a multi-month membership to Hegre Art too - though his stuff wasn't as good as it is now - kinda wish I had waited a few years, oh well.
I personally think price isn't a factor as each user has a different budget and different view as to what is expensive or cheap. I'll obviously point out strange price issues like with the 21 Sextury thing that had 3 different price - all for pretty much the same content - but I've paid as little as $9.99 to join a site and as much as $149.99 - so I think experienced porn users will take the review into account and then make their own decision as to if the price is still worth it or not. Also - the whole logistics factor of keeping up with the price as mentioned is just insane and not worth the time.
Also, I find most sites are the same price - in the $25 to $35 per month region - very few sites honestly stray outside of that - so it really doesn't matter in my opinion. The amount and quality of content is much more of a factor to me. Also search engines - I'm really saddened when sites don't have nice, customizable search engines.
Wow - what would the point be of having a porn collection if you hid it? My friends and family are happy Remoras when it comes to my collection. In fact, to this day I still get shit about when reformatted my porn hard drive so I could load it up with music for my brother's wedding. You'd think that would have been considered a worthy cause but my friends thought I could have just given him a CD or two. My brother was honored by the sacrifice. So yes - many many people have browsed my constantly changing collection for hours at a time. Friends (both male and female), family (ok - mostly my brother here though my father may have run across it once or twice - I don't even remotely hide it) even strangers back when I was in college and we had a make-shift peer-to-peer network going.
I definitely make no bones about my interest in porn to anyone - I figure if they don't like the idea, then I don't really have much in common with them and don't need to waste time on interacting with them. This x-mas the big joke in the family was that "porn bought christmas" because I paid for my Amazon purchases with my "$200 Tuesday" winnings (thank you PornUsers.com!!!) - in reality I only bought two gifts for family that way, but that isn't really the point. I see nothing wrong with porn and don't see any reason to hide it - so I freely share it with friends - just as I let them browse my music or movies. I never give my passwords away though - those are guarded under penalty of death.
I'm going to answer this in regards to my favorite ethnicity I like seeing photographed - because I find I'm less picky when it comes to video. Talent and personality becomes major factors in video - and that applies much less to photography.
I'm assuming that European means Eastern European as in a lot of the girls featured on MET Art or the Hegre Archives - that was at first my top choice. But I decided to pick African because lately I've been hunting for that. The only site I've found that really focuses on photography of black women (especially African black women) is African Goddesses and it really isn't awesome photography, only OK - but they are getting better. I would love to see a MET Art style site dedicated to dark skinned women of any nationality. I'll keep hunting.
While I believe gifts should be things the giver wants to give not gifts the receiver wants to receive - I certainly am not one to deny somebody porn (excluding situations that restrict it for obvious legal reasons). So of course I answer "I would if someone asked" however, my favorite gifts are pleasant surprises - not request fulfillments. I loathe gift registries and never use them. Ever. In fact I have a history of bizarre gifts for weddings now. First was an Animatronic Deer Head, then a foot an half tall Egyptian Cat with hoop earrings and nosering. Then a miniature modernized catapult that can send golf balls 300ft (the Scorpion II). You get the idea.
Have I given anyone porn for this holiday or any prior. No. Am I open to the idea? Sure - but frankly, it would have to be very very special porn. For example, I would be "dancing on the ceiling" happy if someone got me an autographed, 8 x 10 inch photo of Sylvia McFarland - being that she hasn't been in the porn industry for - oh, 30 years - this would be a hell of a gift.
So just any old video of any old porn stars that they can hope online and buy - meh, that is boring. It has to have some backstory, some sort of hunt had to have taken place - there has to be a real damn good reason as to why you are giving this person porn. Plus you better know them very well - because porn is nothing if it isn't good at causing trouble.
I guess you could also give a subscription to a site or network - but that is a lot like giving someone a gift card. Sure it is appreciated, but it isn't a wildly cool gift. Even I know gift giving can be hard - tomorrow I have to run out in the morning and pick up a gift for my Mom, my Aunt and my Grandma - I have no idea what I'm going to get them - granted I know it won't be porn - though my Mom might find that funny. She tried to watch my Insatiable DVD a while back - some how the name didn't clue her in - at least she would have recognized the star, the incomparable Marilyn Chambers.
Anywho - I know not every gift can be perfectly tuned to the receiver's needs as you see them - but I guess I feel you should try. I don't think every kid should receive the video game of their choice - they might not like it at first, but a book on how to build shit would provide way more fun if you then took initiative and help them make whatever bizarre project they find the most interesting. It is a gift they would never choose in a million years, but it is a gift that they will like if they give it a chance - so, again give the gift you want to give, not the gift they want to receive. If you want to give porn, give it - it may just hit the spot.
Or it could fly off target and make an utter mess - you never know.
While gnarled feet can definitely ruin my interest in a model, I have nothing more than a passing interest in attractive feet. So sucking of toes and whatnot doesn't really excite me - I only like watching it if the model that is getting her feet molested really appears to be into it - but I'd watch a beautiful model organize a filing cabinet if she appeared to be really sexually aroused by it - so that's not really saying much.
This poll has been rather enlightening in the replies it has provoked. I'm always curious about the socio/political beliefs of the porn community. I think exotics4me's variant of the question would have been more fitting - but it was interesting how provoked some were by the poll that was posed.
I come from a very liberal background, as a child I was allowed to watch R-rated (and Unrated) movies with my parents as long as the films weren't too heavy on violence. Sexual material was previewed by them but not heavily restricted.
Not too surprisingly I agree with this policy - I'm bothered how much violence is gleefully blasted across TV and yet a nipple at the Superbowl brings the nation to arms. That seems a little ass-backwards to me. I would much rather a child know how to put on a condom than know how to turn-off the safety on a Glock.
Would I take my kids on a day-trip to a porn shop? No. But I don't think I'd be all that upset if I caught them looking at porn unless it were particularly extreme. I don't believe kids should be allowed to surf the web or watch TV or Movies with out parental supervision. I think too many parents are lazy about monitoring their children and would rather have convenient laws tell their kids what they can view instead of controlling it themselves. How about this? Don't give your kid their own computer and TV. And use Net Nanny or a similar service. With the internet's porn shut-down and their TV access restricted, the worst they'll probably run across is a playboy or such - depending on what their friends families allow of course - freedom does have its risks.
If parents were a bit more frank about the topic with their kids I think there would be a few less problems. One way or another kids will educate themselves on the subject - you can be a part of that education or not. Personally I'd rather have some influence on that matter if I consider myself responsible for raising the kid.
So back to the question: I don't care what age looks at softcore - it is just naked bodies. The softer hardcore - I would hope the kids had hit puberty before they were waltzing through that content. Definitely at any age we'd be having a discussion about it when I found it. Gonzo content I'm not sure what I'd do - it would depend on lot on the kid, the content and so on. I guess I can't prepare a game plan for that one yet.
It depends a lot on the style of porn, but my first response was twenties as fit teenagers generally are smoother than fit girls in their twenties. That layer of "baby fat" disappears (just due to the maturation of the body) and you can get girls that look like fashion models without the disturbing dietary requirements.
That is for the glamorous style of porn - but if you are going for hardcore gonzo, well some European productions still have glamor model types doing that as well, but in most cases I'm much more lenient with hardcore because I think enthusiasm and skill is more important in a model than perfect looks. I guess that would be the difference between photography and video for me - if you are doing a photo only site, I expect women with jaw-dropping looks, whatever their advertised attribute is, it has to be stunning - with video I'm looking for character. If the action has multiple performers there needs to be a connection between them - everybody needs to appear to be having a good time, otherwise I lose interest quickly.
There will always be crappy sites trying to make a quick buck, and as I recall there always has been. However there are so many sites with exclusive content - granted not every one has a unique idea and presentation but I think the fact that their dozens upon dozens of respectable sites that care about their customers, care about their models and care about their image - is a great sign that internet porn is no longer the seedy back-alley business it used to be and has matured in to a big business, with all its pluses and minuses.
Sure, it is tougher for small site to get a big following when you've got these name-brand mega-sites out there, but you also know these big sites have too much invested to try and get a quick buck by stealing your credit card. And yes - there are still sites out there that might do that - but there are still used car dealerships selling stolen cars - just in both cases you'll find the majority are legit.
Internet porn seems to be thriving on the "Long Tail" business style - selling less of more. The industry is expanding to cater to every taste be it an ATM site that offends some people or a classy glamor site that is too tame for others. This ongoing expansion is a plus for porn users in general as they are more and more likely to find exactly what they are looking for. Plus, the big business nature of it all is making it safer for the models, safer for the customers and a longer lasting enterprise for the producers.
I think the 1500 is just barely enough. It requires me to make my reviews more concise but it can be quite difficult. I have a tendency to ramble at times, so the limit forces me to get to the point quickly - there have been occasions that I've had to leave out details though.
I answered "No" because there is no way to "stumble" upon it. It might as well have Neon signs announcing its presence. I have an entire hard drive dedicated to the storage and presentation of porn. Most people laugh about it and then quickly get drawn into the endless void that is searching through porn. I have enough variety that they almost always find something they dig (and also stuff they don't, lol). While I understand some people don't care too much about porn, I find repulsion toward it, or total lack of interest toward it, entirely alien. Needless to say - none of my associates feel this way, thankfully.
"DownloadThemAll" for Firefox works wonders - I recommend everybody try it :-) No password issues as it is integrated directly into Firefox so it by passes that issue, really important for sites with the Security Codes that screw up a lot of other managers.
Generally, screen resolution and bit rate are enough to judge. The issue is the amount of compression they used - if you start seeing blocks showing up during high-speed motion, they have compressed it too much and I wouldn't classify that as HD.
I find that DVD quality is equal to about 1.5GB of data for 1 hour of video, HD I would say you are looking at 1GB for 25min of video.
Roughly speaking - the visual complexity of the content can vary this quite a bit.
The PC is the only gaming machine I need :-) And to those of you looking for X-rated games, there are lots of Japanese X-rated games (in full 3D) and there are a few English language based games as well (like 3D Sex Villa 2 from 3dsexgames.com).
