Frequent updates.
Excellent range and selection of gorgeous girls and styles.
Great variety of video formats, bitrates and sizes including mobile devices.
Streaming video works very well with excellent navigation.
Older content has been recoded to the highest bit rate of the latest videos - many other sites don't bother to do this.
Excellent navigation and organization of favorites.
User reviews help to give you an idea whether to bother watching or downloading a video you're not sure about.
Can create custom clips (if you feed the need to).
Good download speeds (~200K/sec) and works with my d/l mgr of choice. |

Needs a very up to date PC to get the most out of the website - my 8 year old Dell mostly struggled with some things like setting and managing favourites. |

In light of all the other great reviews, this'll sound boring, but Videobox is an excellent site that's excellent bang for your buck.
The content isn't exclusive but is high quality both technically and in content.
The so-called DVD quality may only be 640x480 but it does scale well to full screen on my widescreen laptop.
Would be nice to see proper HDV.
Would like to see more videos from Private studio.
Overall highly recommended. |

As a member of Videosz previous to my membership to Videobox, I had the chance to directly compare the two. My first impression was that this site had a less inviting interface. It was rather dull. The size of the library was, and still is, impressive to say the least.
The next thing I saw was the genre-listing. It was all the usual genres, but in my view it was very general after having so many more genres to choose from over at Videosz.
The next I looked for, was how to identify an actress I saw in a clip. With such a large library, it was a decent chance of them having at least one scene and a name to go with that scene. This didn't seem possible as there are no pictures to go with the names in the listings of the stars, and you get too many scenes when choosing a category, without the possibility of compounding categories such as brunette and gangbang to get only scenes with those tags. The only way to compound categories is to first have an actress name, and then go from there. Not really helpful in my opinion.
I recommend this site to everyone who wants to build a pornlibrary of their own, but for porn-seekers like myself who might encounter scenes with unknown actresses without getting the name, this site isn't helpful enough.
This site doesn't work too well with my web-browser Opera either. (See my profile)

-The mid-range resolution is 480x352, which is not standard 4:3 ratio. Why can't they encode at 480x360?
-They get a good number of actress names wrong or spelled incorrectly, or don't list them at all. And there is no good way to notify the staff to fix it.
-They post transsexual videos on the site, yet they have a separate GayVideoBox site which would be better suited for this content.
-I wish they would add some features to allow users to edit actress names or categories for scenes. VideosZ allows users to edit the tags for a scene. |

This site is my top site, hands down. The huge library of content, which expands each day, is enough to overcome the cons which I listed above. Eventually, VideosZ will overtake VideoBox in terms of number of DVD's offered (as they are adding a greater number of DVD's per day compared to VideoBox's five per day) but VideoBox will still be #1 in my book because of the download formats. VideoBox offers different quality WMV's, H264 and iPod along with streaming capabilities, while VideosZ offers just high quality (480x360, mind you) DivX and streaming capabilities. Also VideosZ places a "videosz.com" watermark on their videos. |

90s to early 2000 videos. Not all movies have all of the scenes. I rented some of them and noticed some of the scenes were missing. PREMIUM DVD Plan is a joke, a scam not worth it. Resolution for their highest version to the second best are not different.
Also the site seems to have erased some of the best scenes I've ever seen. Too bad. |

Even though I'm not a guy that likes videos that much I'm mighty impressed by the enormous size of this monster site. Surfin' there you can easily get lost when clicking one of the links that guide you into other categories or to a list of scenes for one particular model. It will take you lots of hours to get to see only the scenes that you are really after plus there's enough other material that will get your attention.
Sometimes you'll see that model names are not correct e.g. the search for 'rubee tuesday' links to 9 DVDs and the search for 'ruby tuesday' to 1 DVD still it's the same model. This may sound pedantic but that happens for other models, like Druuna 3 DVDs vs. Druna 1 DVD, too and not all will know all synonyms his favourite model uses. Well but that's no reason to give a lower score.
Download speed was constantly above 300KB per connection for me no matter what time I was online. Using 2 parallel downloads I always used up the whole bandwidth for my ADSL-link. They must have real good equipment and excellent admins at videobox.com!
What's definitely missing is DVDs from European companies. dvdbox.com for instance offers some weird stuff from France, Germany, Italy etc. in it's category Euro. Something I'd like to see here too! Another annoyance is the fact that you can only download the front covers of the DVDs plus you need to open the link in a new window or tab of your browers because the cover image is shown in a layer inside the current window.
And what the hell is category Gonzo? 4,327 of 5,596 videos or 77% of all DVDs are in this category. To me this sounds like a bad joke ;-)
All in all I highly recommend to have at least a look at this site but most of us will already have done so. The new scenes I've seen in full resolution looked much better than the old stuff. At $17.95 for the DVD resolution this is a real bargain. |

Generally our well know VideoBox has gone to the better - on all items.
I've found a heck of a lot of stuff from speciel interests: A far better and larger variation of latina-videos, great euro-ditto, some very fine teen-stuff and some great video from very rare productions.
VideoBox now has more videos from Private, 3X and the great Combat Zone.
The navigation towards "studios" - or producers are just tops. Way over 100 different producers are at your browsing-service.
But of course, this is a site where you browse through - somewhat - wellknown porn-vids. that for most has been availeble at most shops - but here you just download all you want.
Since I first was a member long time ago, Videobox now has grown into a far better and more attractive site:
First of all the quality of later video (from this year) the quality has grown far better. Formerly I did not care to download socalled HD or DVD-size, because the WMV-high was quite close. (640x480).
But bottom line:
Videobox is with a good price - both standard and DVD - a fine place to do your porn-browsing - now.
I'm much more positive about the site than I was a year ago or so.
Fine improvements here.
Recommended more than ever. |

I guess I have to start with the obvious, and that is the quantity of the material almost defies belief.
No download restrictions.
There are so many videos, this site in effect, gives you a free preview of anything you wish. It also gives you a chance to check out some videos from producers you haven't tried before.
The way the downloading section is set up is very good. It is perfect for knowing what section or sections of a video you want to download. It would be perfect for downloading from any category on any site, that has nothing to do with porn. The way the stills are set out makes it so easy. I love the simplicity of the downolading too.
They do break up the categories for you, and you can view the videos depending on date or popularity, which is handy. I like the look and way things are set out. Considering the volume of material I think it's about as simple and friendly a system as you could have, |

There is very little worthwhile fetish material. There are one or two interesting items, but that's about it.
There are very few videos from genuine independents. It all looks the same, even though they have videos from a great number of producers. There are one or two exceptions to this, but 95 per cent could all be from the same company.
As with most teen and amateur stuff, it starts off with the usual feigned surprise or naive innocent looks, to suggest they've never done anything like this before, and within 2 minutes they're at it as though all they've done for the last 10 years is have sex on camera. I strongly suspect that some of them may not be trainee rocket scientists or brain surgeons.
Digging out the gems from so much material can be time consuming.
No photos. Not so good if you like downloading pics.
Their highest "DVD" bit rate is really only average.
Ridiculously low download speeds between 4(!)kb/sec and 70 kb/sec. |

Remember when you were a kid, and you dreamed of owning a sweet shop. Video Box is that sweet shop. I've never grown tired of chocolate or sweets, and I've never got tired of porn.
There is so much on here, that it's a little mean spirited to suggest it's time consuming trying to dig out the gems. It can sometimes be fun to just browse. You can stumble upon something that you maybe wouldn't have bothered with. The good thing is, it's so cheap you can download 10 worthless videos, and have wasted no money at all. It means you can virtually try out stuff for free. If your taste is for vanilla, straight sex videos, there is enough here to keep you satisfied for just about the rest of your life.
The big weakness for me, is the lack of fetish material, but then when you look at the price, it's hardly surprising. It is a negative, but realistically, if this site had newer videos, and more specialised categories, the price would be triple what it is. But yes, this is the big weakness - too much old stuff, and too much of the same thing, with little variation. It's like a warehouse of cheap videos.
I linked to Video Box from Paysite Discounts, which means $3 off the $17.95 price. I'm surprised TBP don't have this offer, given how popular Video Box is with their people.
I don't wish to be too negative with the negatives, or too positive with the positives, but I have tried to be objective. I know Video Box is very popular with this site. Rightly so. I have to say I think it's still good value. The amount of very good straight sex videos, arranged in a way so that they are easy to download, from a well set out customer oriented site, means I would recommend this to anyone as their very first porn site.
I am not going to tilt too far into the negative because of VERY slow download speeds for me. I cancelled my subscription a few hours after joining because the download speed is so painfully slow I have to be very selective what I download. This undermines the advantage of the enormous amount of material there is on there. I know some of you do have problems with download speed where others have no problems at all.
I will just add that I was down to 4kb/sec on some newer videos, but the speed on the older videos is between 30-70 kb/sec. This may be what the problem is. The newer more popular videos are being downloaded by more people, therefore the speeds are slower. I'll leave it to you tech boffins to comment on that. In fact after attempting to download a number of videos and monitoring the speed, I found nearly all the newer ones were much slower than the older ones.
I wont mark down too much, because the speed may just be my problem. I have never had speeds as slow as this before on any site though. I know this review wont go down to well at TBP because you all love Video Box. It's just what I have found.
As a late edit - I have found some speeds on older videos of up to 300kb/sec. That is some variation! 4kb/sec-300kb/sec |

The enormous amount of content, and the low membership cost, are probably the main reasons most reviewers have liked this site. However, much of the content appears to come from smaller producers, and is old, which is why they can likely keep their membership prices low.
If you are young and somewhat new to porn, it is a great bargain. If you are an old fart, like me, you will not be too impressed. I have just reviewed only the last month of "new" videos and have seen actors in them that were popular 10-15 years ago.
Therefore, older videos shot with tape will look no better when they are digitized, and this may be the reason why so many appear to be poorly lit, to cover up what is just not there.
Despite these major flaws in many of the videos, you are liable to find something worth downloading from this site, based on the shear number of videos available, and the 150 that would be added during a one month membership.
In sum, this site is worth a one month trial, if you have a fast connection, and lots of unused hard drive space. However, you will also need lots of time to sift through the content to find something worth downloading. |

On some videos, you can cut half the video, saving space on your hard drive (for you hardcore hardcore fans)! |
