Thanks for the warning. I hope not only that the site dies, but I wish the person behind all those pop-ups would have the guts to come here and explain the reasoning behind that kind of bullshit. I don't blame anyone for wanting to make money, or even for exploiting the naivete and/or gullability of certain people. I wouldn't do it myself but I recognize it as all a part of the game. However, the kind of crap that you describe, apoctom, is not salesmanship in any way, shape or form.
Imagine being at a car dealership and this guy is showing you a car. You say, "That's okay, not interested," and suddenly the guy yanks you by the arm and shoves you into the car. "Come on, start it up!" he cries, and then when you try and get out of the car, he leans up against the door. You go for the other side, and there's another "salesman" blocking that door, and all the while they're shouting at you, demanding that you start the car and think more about whether it interests you or not. You start the car and slam it into reverse, trying to get away from the two idiots, but there's another idiot who's just parked a big truck behind you. "Come on," they all shout, "You know you want this car...just sign the fucking contract and we'll let you go!"
It would be no worse than what the idiots behind all that pop-up hell are doing.

- Good navigation, categorization (solo/artistic/etc..), search function, ala ATK style. |

- ATK has always had a somewhat confusing way of organizing the vid section, and this site is no exception.
- Emphasis is decidedly on the glamourous/artsy side of things which makes the 'A' in ATK kind of non-applicable here.
- Pic size decent (avg 1000 X 1500) but still not where it should be for a "Premium" site.
- Vids look decent (avg 640 X 480, 1200-2000+ kbps) but not as good as they should for a "Premium" site. |

I've been to all of ATK's sites and Premium most recently. If I had to live with only one of their sites to the exclusion of all the others, Premium would be my last choice. Why is this?
Well, what we like and don't like is a subjective thing. Two things that were always appealing about ATK were Amateurs and/or Teens, which is what the 'A' and the 'T' in 'ATK' abbreviate. At Premium, the models are hardly amateurs, and despite whatever their average age might be, there is an atmosphere of maturity present which steers quite clear of "teeny-ness" in most of its usual guises. Not that this is a problem necessarily, but it does seem like a bit of a turning away from the original mission of this company.
The impression I get is that this is ATK's contribution to the genre of classy, artsy nudes made popular by sites like Met Art and Hegre's. The women are beautiful and the settings equally so. For me this makes for a certain sterility as far as the libido is concerned, which impacts ninety-five percent of why I purchase subscriptions to these kinds of websites.
While I like the more intimate aspect of some of the videos, I found a few which seemed to show nothing but a model getting her make-up applied or her hair done. I suppose some might like this (and I wouldn't mind at all for a minute or so), but it was too tedious for me. On a positive note, some of the lesbian scenes were among the best I've seen.
Recommended, but with reservations. |

Messmer, I wish I could answer your question precisely, but it's been over nine months since I was at the Archives, and this was long before my external hard-drive, so I put everything I download from there on CD. It would take a lot of time to find the material, since I have tons of CDs.
If I remember correctly, most of the earliest pics are probably 800 X 600, but more recent pics are larger, yet still small by today's standards. Quality-wise, the oldest pics from the Archives are pretty bad, these being from the late nineties. What is frustrating for me is that while the pic size and quality were poor in those days, the style and content of the pictures were more appealing to me: more amateurish/girl-next-doorish as opposed to arsty/slick/glamorous, more old-school undies as opposed to thongs, butt-floss, and various kinds of shorts posing as panties, less tattoos and piercings, etcetera.
I don't know if they tried to upgrade the condition of old pic sets, sorry. If memory serves, I don't think so. Bear in mind, I cut my teeth in the old Newsgroups which posted pics from ATK all the time, and I was happy to be able to go and find the complete sets for most of those pics. That went a long way in making my experience with ATK's Archives more pleasurable. I suppose I was slightly biased.

- Ethel and Martine: practically worth the money just for these two beauties. |

- Site has not updated since mid 2007.
- Video quality is pretty bad, and there is no sound in any of the vids I downloaded.
- Vids come in one minute to minute and a half snippets, making them next to worthless.
- Several models stay fully clothed. Not even a kini or panty-shot from them.
- For the casual browser or for the guy who doesn't want entire sets, each pic opens in a new window, causing more work. All hail the back button. |

I got Teen Stars and Teen Charms in a two-fer deal for 29.99, but I've been busy with Teen Stars thus far to the exclusion of the other site, which I'll look at in the future. I want to say first off that these are some of the most beautiful girls going. If you have a thing for young-looking, skinny, leggy, drop-dead-gorgeous girls, this place is ace. It's neck & neck with Nubiles in that respect. But-
The site is dead, and the video on offer is negligible, so what we have here is basically a large picture archive. If you're not a pic collector, and if you're not into softcore - at times extremely soft - then don't bother. I'm having a pretty good time because I'm a pic collector and the scarcity of tats, toys, penises, hair, and flab keeps all my neurons firing happily away.
Pics range from smallish, from 2003, to very large: 3500 on the big end. You don't get the kind of clarity you do with other places, and the emphasis on the portrait-format makes me wonder what the point of having a huge picture really is. Note to webmasters in this niche: landscape, landscape, landscape. While the site is mostly softcore with an artsy bent and a touch of glamour, plus cute in spades, there is some total nudity (pink), and toys, but not much.
I wouldn't call the site a rip-off, but they should either downplay the presence of vids or offer better ones. Since the site is dead, maybe they should just remove the vids, lower the price, and continue as a good picture archive. |

I agree with Denner. These are excellent reviews.
I've avoided these artsy sites like the plague though I suppose I might join one at some point. I appreciate the difference between art and dirty pictures, but while I like art, I'd rather spend my money on dirty pictures. The former has the greater virtue, but I'm addicted to the latter. Ah well...

I agree with your observation that Lupe doesn't seem entirely committed; but I think that observation is sort of in accord with my complaint about her looking into the camera while she's in the saddle: it makes it look too much like a performance? Just a thought. And yessiree, she does have beautiful eyes. My ex-wife is Hispanic and even though we've been divorced for over a year, she's still my main fantasy...

Funny, I'm a big fan of TGPs but have never heard the term CJ before. It's very fitting! You wanna really get jerked around, try surfing the Japanese TGPs. (Actually, don't.)
There are some TGPs that never redirect, as far as I know. Wild-Cherries and DD's Heartbreakers are two that, in my experience, never re-direct. I liked Sublime Directory until it turned into a quagmire of re-directs and other nasty crap.

The jumping-jack thing is extremely misleading and might be a reason why this site has gotten zero notice here. There are one or two flash animations of each model doing jumping jacks (usually one from the front, and one from the rear, that's it), but there are anywhere from thirty to a hundred animations for each model doing a variety of other things, so the jumping jacks is a tiny percentage of the total material on offer. I admit the premise sounds a bit silly, but I really like a lot of these animations. They're sort of like a gif, only much larger (screen-size wise) and with a longer range of movement that plays in a loop. I think of them as a picture with frills. I can't think of another site which offers these things, at least in this kind of quantity. It's unique, as far as I know.
The site is pretty much oriented towards the breast-man. And they're some of the best breasts going.

Naughtymag is noteworthy because of the amount of content it now has and for the range of tastes it caters to. I haven't seen this wide a variety of model types at any other site, though ATK's Natural and Hairy comes close. The focus is on amateur, accessible, next-door-neighbor types. I actually find a good percentage of the models here downright homely (I'm being kind), but that's all part of the amateur niche. That being said, there are many beautiful ladies to look at as well, though the atmosphere is never super-glamorous.
While the pictures have that "magazine-y" look to them, I have to say that the majority of the pics ranging from 2003 to present look pretty good, and some are very good. The lack of clarity is compensated for by the fact that the sets are well-edited and comprehensive. I find that most sets show the models in all the ways I like to see them, without excessive shots of the same pose with barely noticeable differences.
The vids I looked at are 640X480, 2000+ kbps. These are the newer "casting couch" or interview vids and they look excellent.
I would certainly recommend this site to picture collectors, and amateur pictures in particular, but not to those who are interested in photography as art. This ain't art, it's naughty pictures. People mainly into video are best advised to look elsewhere.
It's too bad this company is crapping out on their trials. Why they would want to damage their rep in this way is a mystery to me. |
