I understand your comments and just wanted to add my experience.
I usually miss the pre-checked cross sales in my reviews because I am anal and double-check everything before signing up. It is almost like the "Click to Skip" commercials on YouTube - I expect them so I am not surprised when they come. It is definitely annoying though.
My membership cancellation was easy, which I found surprising based on a lot of the comments (and no, I am not a shill). I actually started the process a few days earlier than normal because I was expecting an issue and there was complete a lack of drama (maybe due to the site redesign?).

I like everything. I have an e-reader, which is especially great for travel or getting great deals on books. Online is always nice for the variety. Audiobooks are great for travel. Magazines are great for catching up on the hobbies.
I will say that there is nothing better than having a physical book to read. I especially love being able to flip to a favorite part quickly and easily.
