I say good on ya, rearadmiral. I wish I had the confidence to give it a try. It's a new age, and I believe you when you give testimony to the overall goodness of the experience. I'd NEVER be with a "bargain-basement" type person, I don't care how horny I was, or how loaded I was (pun intended).
I had an "almost" with a beautiful lady in Nevada with whom I had a brief but pleasant email exchange. I searched around and around, and finally picked her because of her stunning beauty and her apparent intelligence and charm. I thought the same as you about the content not being up my alley and it basically isn't. I think our taste is similar. But I kept watching cuz it was so different in the respect that it was fun and playful, not to mention hot for what it is. My suggestion is to wait a bit until PU twists their arm and gets a PU discount. -)

The problem is many companies that have dozens of sites want to keep the customers on so they pull out all the tricks of the trade to keep them. I try to use the ones who have CCBill and Epoch as well these days, but it is getting harder and harder to find them.
Canceling the site Active Duty can be done, but the added hassle of chatting with a sales rep is not a good idea. Unfortunately, these corporations don't care what we customers think or want these days. Sad.

For me it's not just that 10 seconds loud promo clip but the entire music filled sort of solo stuff that annoys me. It's so different from the rest of the video that it feels sort of added on as opposed to being a well thought out idea. That said I do like some of their other sites but not enough to dish out an extra 70$ US to get access. Even less so now that the exchange rate is pretty bad between the US dollar and Canada.

I think it's a great deal that you can get a Platinum membership for an extra 70$ above your existing membership and that will give you access to 10 plus sites but you only find out about that deal once you have already joined Holed and if you have joined any of the other sites than the deal gets less and less appealing.
I also think that it's great that they hire some really hot models but their shooting style leaves a lot to be desired. In fact many of their other sites have significantly better content that Holed and I can't believe that the loud obnoxious 10 second advertising promo at the beginning of each of their videos doesn't annoy the shit out of you.
Do you truly believe that Holed is as good as you claim if you look at it as a stand alone site?

That's funny, I always thought the more attractive models always ended up at ALS Angels, at least that's how it was in the beginning. I would read about a popular model's photoshoot in the blog at ALSScan, then I would find out that the shoot was only over on Angels. I even commented about it on one of my early reviews. I suppose this is only a little worse than, say, Met Art listing additional sets of the model you are looking at along the bottom of a page even though many of the sets are on a different site.
In any case, Scan used to be the really young, really skinny, small breasted girl site and Angels was the site where the young, C-cup or better girls and pros went. I think it is still that way to some extent. I do not think there is a D cup anywhere on Alsscan. The delineation is STRICTLY a way to break one site up into two to generate more revenue as the type of material is identical.
Yes, the Caribbean trips were nice. But the industry has changed a lot and I'm guessing good models are much less common and much more expensive these days. I don't know what the contracts looked like back then, but the days of "Hey, I'll fly you to the Caribbean for a week along with 10 other bi/lesbian girls and all you have to do is a couple of photo shoots" is long gone. Now it's probably 10k a week per model regardless of where. Oh well.

AlsScan is affiliated with Met-Art. AlsAngels is not. I think it is pretty clear that the guy who runs these sites has always separated out the models by body type and put the curvier ones on AlsAngels. I wrote reviews years ago mentioning this. I hope he is doing really well with the Met Art arrangement, but for whatever reason, he is keeping ALSAngels for himself so the resources they provided to make the ALSScan site more functional are not available here. I think it is also clear that he has some specific tastes that apparently a large number of people share that are pretty much unique to these two sites.
But, like you, I am completely turned off by some of the bizarre, more clinical things on this site and would be much happier if the huge 200+ image photo sets were broken out into, perhaps, stripping and spreading, maybe masturbation, and whatever else is going on in them. By breaking out the sets, the site could draw people who are just looking for straight nude or sex stuff without forcing them to look at the more extreme items that are present in every single set. Ultimately, I think that compartmentalizing the sets would draw and keep more subscribers. It would also provide an opportunity to break up what is now one huge release into two. Webmaster, I hope you are reading this!

It's not a big surprise considering that they pay American performers significantly more money than their European counterpart. That said I think they are getting to the point where they will have a harder and harder time hiring new performers. It used to be that DAP's were only every few videos but they must have quickly discovered that this is by far their most requested type of scene because these days it's in almost every one of their videos. I contemplated joining the site only last weekend, but changed my mind, its just too expensive I feel and they price themselves out of the market for most porn users. I'd be willing to spend say $100 to download everything I wanted but this ticket thing is just annoying, especially when the tickets are now seen as getting some up to 6, it leaves so few movies for the high price.
The site could and should be the top porn site out there if done at a set price, so many more people would buy, that said they'd then have to upgrade servers again.

MBps stands for Mega Byte Per Second
Mbps stands for Mega bit Per Second.
My guess is that you have a 300 Mbps connection.
Which is very fast.
The fastest connection I've heard of, from a cable company, is 500 Mbps.
For a number of cable companies, the fastest they offer is around 100 Mbps.
( 1 MB = 8 Mb )
(I'm talking about consumer connections. Business connections are different.)

Ditto that. Been with VideoBox continuously since 2004. Agree with RA that they post a lot of pure crap but perhaps 3 or 4 times a week they post some really superb HD videos...which makes it worthwhile.
I was also a very long term First Time Videos member (about 5 years) but finally got tired of their download issues and the excessively long and boring scenes and no loyalty price discounts. I miss it just a little.
