(YES, TELEVISION! I'm OLD SCHOOL!) Anyway, Jenna talked about how she was told that she had to get implants in order to stay in the industry, and this was fairly early in her career. It wasn't really a choice. The industry has it that the women must have big ta-ta's so that those will show on the cover material (vids in those days, web pages these days) and that the consumer will see the same after the "play" button is issued its command. Here at PU, we usually beg to differ, or we just don't really even care that much (our sights being set in a more southernly direction, perhaps?). LOL! "Damn curvy letter guessing pictures!" I'm going to remember that phrase the next time I login to Twistys and the damn thing looks like a test for color blindness. I HATE those fucking curvy-ass letter things. OR the 7's that might just be 2's (or O's vs. 0's) at ClubSandy for instance. OR the ones where you can't tell if it's supposed to be a capital "X" that's just smaller (like the capital "L" tilted to the left over the ... what's that? ... a small "q" or a "g"? It was probably just a form e-mail with the vague response. I've had that, too. I contacted MC-Nudes about a login problem that actually had to do with a computer of mine that had some kind of fucking Trojan or something that my virus program couldn't deal with (McFuckAfee). I'd not been hacked; the thing was screwing up all kinds of sites with the page rendering, scripts, logins, etc. But MC-Nudes just sent me their form e-mail (multiple accounts, mulitple locations, blah-blah) and a new usepass. But that didn't work either at first because of McFuckAfee not doing its goddamned job with the Trojan. But finally, though some update from Microsoft or from Mc-Doesn't-Make-It-Afee, a lot of the problems went away and the usepass finally worked. I'd also been shut out of TeenDreams for a day last week, so I emailed them and they said that there was something amiss with their password file but they'd fixed it and so I could login and so I tried and it worked. I search for softcore solo photos and hardcore b/g videos. I don't usually search niches; they just add up and make things too complicated. (Was just at OnlyCuties and that's a good example of "too complicated.") So I'll just go right by things that feature pregnancy, etc. in the results. I like the results organized either just chronologically or all of a given model's content in one place. It's the "Keep It Simple" principle. If TBP could provide more such detailed info on search features, that would be a plus, but actually they still don't do enough with the more basic question of "hi rez" photos. Why don't they give the details of the photo sizes available at least in the content of the reviews, if not in the site facts near the top of the review page? A fair number of PU reviewers do better at this than TBP does. See, "hi rez" doesn't mean enough. Are they 1280 px, or are they 5000px? That's a huge difference! "Quantity vs. quality" is a false dichotomy. It's analogous to "body or face?" Or to put it another way: Being half-assed as bad no matter which cheek you're left with. Human beings are natural-born categorizers, so there's no denying that it is natural for people to think in these terms. But I think that bifurcating them into an "either/or" choice imposes a mutual exclusivity between the two that cannot possibly function to anyone's satisfaction. More satisfaction can be had by thinking about how much of each together is acceptable. For sites that do well with photos, I'd say that MetArt is a good example. Nice to see some well-deserved positive discussion of Zuzana Z, a girl who made me go "Wow!" the first time I saw her. I picked up her name somewhere (or maybe it's some clever Czech pseudonym for all I know), and so she's on my hard drive as Zuzana Zeleznovová. I see I'm not the only one who's had his "bullshit quota" satisfied to some exponential degree too many times over by the greedy rotten shits of Corporate America. Package creep, yes. I'm going to revive this thread by my pal Denner, but with a twist: "New Content but Less New Stuff." I do a lot of lurking, and I've noticed that even more sites are cutting down on the frequency rate of their offerings. InTheCrack was every other day, but now it's every three days (no change in price, mind you). LSG Models is also now doing photosets once every 3 days. Skokoff was every day; now it's every other day, following 10 days of nothing more being posted from the beginning of March. And this is after Babelicious, SexyBabes, EuropeanGlamourGirls and its sister EroticDestinations started a thinning out of the offerings, too. Oh, and TorridArt, too! But there's a happy ending, so I'm told: They said they're going to give me a free year since they'd cut down so much during the one I'd paid for. Looking forward to that. Anwyay, this slimming-down process seems to be a bit contagious in Porno Land. As for me, I'm doing the math and waiting longer to rejoin things myself. You know, I've gotten to thinking: Porn serves as a pretty good platform for the male bonding experience. Now, wait a minute! Don't take it the wrong way, now. Yes, I've made mention a few times around in PU-Land about www.topmiss.com There are no zips, so getting pics is a pain. They have them in a variety of sizes, up to very large (at least 3000px). And it's mostly exclusive stuff, even though when you visit, you'll first see Mia Stone in what was a Viv Thomas photoshoot from some time ago. (Though seeing her show her lovely stuff on that blanket on the grass, well ...) But that date, 19 Juin, is June 19, 2008. The site went "zombie" (my expression for it) then. I haven't been able to join for years now, and there's a good several months of exclusive stuff of darlings like Bambi that I've never gotten my grubby little mitts on. To this day, my chagrin remains. So I guess it would help to 1. tolerate the cherry picking and consequent wrist ruining, 2. have a credit card in Euros, and 3. be able to passably read French, which I can. I was delighted to finally put it to some practical use. ;) Oh, but as for the videos, if there are any, I have no idea because I generally don't like softcore vids. I'd say that animosity was on the up especially during the always stressful holiday season, but that seems to have abated. It's hard to know why Cybertoad, SnowDude and WeeWillyWinky have been absent. Reasons suggested so far are all possible (the economy, negativity, porn fatigue). I've noticed a slip in overall participation at times, compared to the pre-established norm. But these things I think generally occur as do the tides, with lulls. It's a bit workish trying to keep up with the interesting threads and contribute interesting bits. Here at PU, it's a form of writing for an audience, not just shouting from one's own smut-laden disk array. Maybe none of the absent -- and very much missed -- members of our little club wanted to give a farewell because they might return someday. Here's something I've yet to see: language lessons! Have an "instructor" on the scene speaking the tongue in question and subtitle that. Then you'd have review with quick snippets ("She's giving head," etc.) with the instructor's voice in the background. It would be fun, and it could be made very funny, too. The only time I've ever seen anything like that was a vid of Mia Stone telling this guy how they say "suck" in Hungarian, and then she did it. Suze.net has good editing sometimes, with the "meat of the action" taking priority. Mike's Apartment does pretty well, too. But I agree that good editing is more the exception than the rule. There have been discussions on this at PU before, with complaints about bad angles, views more of the guy's arse than the woman's, prolonged closeups of the woman's face, leering studs, etc. There are three factors (at least) that I'm sure come into play. One is that really good editing is an art and one that improves with experience. But, and this is the second point: the editor has to have the talent for it in the first place. Some folks have got it, and some don't and probably never will. And finally there are the tastes and preferences of the viewer. What some might call a good editing job others won't. I actually like the Brooklyn accent quite a lot, especially when a girl is speaking. But of course they'll want to lose it if they think it will make it harder to get a good job somewhere. As for Boston, I like it, too, but perhaps it's an acquired taste. I've had conversations with people from Boston or the surrounding area and had a really tough time understanding it. But I like the way they put -ie on the ends of districts like "Southie." And speaking of things Southern, the Southeastern and central US accents are really nice. Tiffany Brookes from Texas! Yes, hearing it that way, it sounds like more of an inspired moment than "I gotta go grab a quick bite" or some such. Actually, brunch in the US isn't a snack. It's a Sunday thing. Folks might not get up as early as on other days and then they'll just have late breakfast/early lunch, which is brunch. That is, just two meals that day, dinner being #2. British sites that I've liked (not disliked) over the years have been BritishTease and VivThomas (who is actually from South Africa but whatever). VivThomas has been one of the best, though is list is stocked mostly with Eastern Europeans. (Not complaining!) And as Ruth mentioned, and I agree, SimonScans has good quality content. I'm just not into the style of things there. It's a great site for those utterly obsessed with toyplay. But that's about all I can say on the sites. Haven't seen too many of them, though I was once a member of something called "Hot Toddy." My guess that "Hot Toddy" (or is it "Totty"?) means "trim" or "quim" or "pussy." Too lazy to look it up. Maybe Squirrel will spring forth with lexical aide. There have been a number of Brit models over the years that I've found enchanting: Karen White, Adele Stevens and, as Denner mentioned, Michelle Thorne, along with Charlotte (SimonScans, Suburban Amateurs), Cori (BabesUK). I still think that Squirrel's rating of 83 is closer to the mark. While I'm inclined to rate Khan and Rick and the rest of the PU staff (if they exist) way up in the high 90's (I never give 100's), the site overall is a different matter. It's a rating of everyone's reviews and other objects of web text. Let's face it: Some of the "reviews" aren't much to look at, let alone read. And sure, some are really exemplary. I could go on, but suffice it to say that an 83 is fair and, as I said before, "it's not too shabby." The site could be doing a lot worse, but it's not. I'm pretty darn happy with it. Squirrel, I think your review is fair and balanced. And an 83 ain't too shabby! I just hope this doesn't lead to "Squirrel: The Review" or worse yet (!), "Drooler: The Review." ;) My only comment on the review is regarding the point about quantity exceeding quality. I agree that it's true of PU, and I think we all understand why (no need to tell you what you already know). Did you ever see Joe Rogan's standup act about "Tiger Sex?" The first time I saw that on TV I thought I was really going to die with laughter. Don't want to max on lines, so here's a new post with another variation on the Rosetta Bone theme: The girl walks into the room completely naked, with vocabulary in a foreign language on little strips of paper taped all over her body. You know, you guys are like a broken record. What you and I have been complaining about has been expressed ad naseum in the forum, on the polls, in reviews, in replies to reviews, and in comments. The purpose of THIS thread, which I have made clear, is for us to come up with ideas of what we DO want to see in porn. Plenty ... PLENTY has been said already about what we DON'T want. So here's another idea, which I've thought up after having discussions with jd1961 about our shared distaste for "circus" positions in porn (the "piledriver," etc.): Call it Porn Circus Auditions. It's nice to have the option and I don't mind at all that some other people do it but, and I suppose it's just a matter of temperament, I don't care to go back over the old things I've done already and fix them up again for the present moment. Well, the "professional" reviewers are usually the ones to watch out for. You won't find any of us saying things like "A Triumph!" and "The Best Anal Creampie Site of the Year" and stuff like that. And that's to say nothing of the ones that actually review porn. I've found my own "pornsonality" (hey, I just made that up!) to have evolved/devolved/avolved, whatever. And I think it's because of all of those reviews that I wrote. These days, I really know exactly what I want, and if I'm not getting it, then whatever I'm looking at, as far as I'm concerned, it's just crap. That has made it harder for me to write reviews now because I have to try to think like a general user, just to be fair about it. And that sucks. I'm much happier just being horny old ass-crazy Drooler. That isn't to say that my reviews are excessively biased. ;) But it does help explain why I put so much factual information in them. Factual support is essential for good writing and opining, of course, but it's also about all I've got when I review a site that doesn't feature delectable female butt cheeks served up the way I like 'em.
