Pros:

Cons:
- I suppose to maintain high download speeds, you can only download one movie at a time - download managers and manual multiple downloads won't work
- You need to enter a "captcha"-type security code every time you log in
- Support is non-existant - sent two e-mails via their feedback form which were ignored
- Feedback is allowed on the videos but doesn't seem to be responded to
- Duo scenes marry very different "types", one of which you may dislike
- Site could be organised better - search functions are poor
- Can't download interviews with models
- Photos are sometimes just vidcaps
- Can't see the size of file before you download it - a pain, as HD files are big (1GB-plus)
- HD is MP4 only, no HD WMV option
- Rather too many solo scenes for me - some models are solo-only
Bottom Line:
Alternadudes leapt out at me as a site to try when I found it on TBP, because I love certain types of "alternative" looking men, and you so often don't find them on gay websites - and certainly not on more professional ones.
I love men with long hair, and Alternadudes has lots of them - probably at least a third of the models have long hair, which is great for me!
Their definition of "alternative" is fairly wide, which I like although I suppose purists might quibble with some of them - still, with alternative-looking men in such short supply in gay porn I'd say it's best to be grateful it exists at all!
They tend to focus on rockers, punks, emos, goths, skaters and tattooed or pierced guys. Most guys are white, but there's a fair amount of Hispanic guys too and a few black guys. They tend to be younger, about 18 - 24, but some guys are up to early 30s. I'd prefer some slightly older guys, but there's a good choice here. They have a fair few guys from outside the USA including some uncut guys which is unusual for a US site and goes well with the theme.
Technical wise the site is pretty impressive. I found downloads blisteringly fast - on average at least 2 - 3 times faster than I average on other sites. This is probably due to the fact that you cannot do multiple downloads, manually or with a download manager - kind of a shame but it does mean super-fast downloads. The way they enforce it can be irritating though - you can browse back from the download page to the last page of scenes/models you were on, but it won't then let you go to any other page until your download is finished.
They offer MP4 files in HD (1280x720 @ 8000k) and regular (720x480 @ 2000k), and WMV files though these are 720x480 only. I downloaded all three of one video to compare and was impressed with the quality of the smaller files, and as the HD ones are big (often up to 1GB in size) I stuck with those. I found the MP4 to be subjectively slightly sharper. In-browser streaming is also available (flash-based) at 640x360 and I found it acceptable though not super-fast.
I was initially minded to score this site in the 90s as I was impressed with the video quality, concept of site and fast download speeds.
However a few little niggles made me decide to downgrade it somewhat. I used their support form to e-mail a suggestion but I was ignored despite including my e-mail - same as when I couldn't access the site for a few hours and e-mailed their support address. On a related note, they let you comment on scenes/models and you can rate them good/bad but they don't ever seem to reply to the comments, which is a shame. Their blog doesn't get updated often either.
I appreciated the fast downloading, but I didn't like the way it restricts you from browsing the rest of the site whilst downloading - it took away some of the advantage for me as I want to be able to at least preview other videos whilst I wait for the downloads. There has to be a better way they could do this.
I was also disappointed to find a lot more solo scenes than I expected, though some of these do involve the cameraman getting a BJ which is nice! Sometimes I felt the videos could use a little more imagination - there's rarely any "theme" to them, just straightforward sex in a studio - which may appeal to some but I sometimes like a story/fantasy which they rarely do - and the odd time they did try it, it seemed a bit half-hearted to me. The "XXXtras" they mention are basically desktop wallpapers/calenders which are nicely designed but not really a big bonus, and some "behind the scenes" videos which are - I did enjoy those.
Finally, the variety of "altnernatives", whilst welcome, does mean that some of the duo scenes involved a model I loved but with a model who did absolutely nothing for me. The really out-there emo twinks with make-up, piercings and dyed hair do nothing for me, and they often were teamed with guys I did like. Conversely, some of the guys who just have a few tats or long hair might not be "alternative" enough for some people.
Other minor low points were a "captcha"-type security code to log in every time, poor searching (there's no proper search function as such, and the use of niche cloud tags didn't really make up for it), and the fact you can't download models interviews to keep - a real shame as I love them and find them sexy, and this is the only site I've seen that doesn't allow downloads of them.
Overall this is a site with a great concept well-executed with good choice of files and fast downloads, but the single-download-only restrictions, poor support and feedback and poor search function holds it back a little.
I'll probably rejoin in future, but the one update a week won't be enough to keep a regular member.

Great review. It's a useful site but with a $1 per minute on content I've yet to buy anything there - even the most expensive sites, at around $40-50 per month, give you much more than 40 - 50 minutes of content as this site would for the same price.

Whilst this does seem to be a clone of CFNM.net, from the preview pages I recognise the vast majority of the content from there but one or two videos seem to be unique to this site. Seems an odd policy - I wonder if they'll eventually release them on the main site.

- Not all stories/scenarios are video - some are photoset-only. This include later updates - you never know which you'll get.
- Some videos only available on sister site CFNM.TV which costs the same again to join - no discounts, and they use DRM
- Site design is chaotic, with no real search functions. Forum requires seperate log-in and is very old-fashioned and difficult to navigate

Bottom Line:
It's been a long while since I reviewed this site, and despite its flaws I keep going back to it, so new review time!
Not much has changed with the basic formula of the stories, which is a good thing. They continue to produce the best CFNM videos out there - imaginative, varied and fun with good-looking models, both male and female. This is true CFNM - the women's clothes stay on, always.
The site is varied in the type of CFNM it does - a bit of everything. CFNM takes two main forms - lighter, more fun CFNM where the male is more in control and admired by the clothed ladies, and darker, where it's more about humiliation and control of the men. CFNM.net tends to go more for the latter, but generally it's more humiliation than true hardcore - there is only a sprinkling of S&M scenes and even that tends to be on the lighter side. The site has a sense of fun and humour.
CFNM.net is a sister site to some gay sites though and this does sometimes show through - you'll see occasional gay sex between the naked models and insertions of dildos, vibrators and strap-ons is quite common. This may appeal more to gay men and possibly some straight women than straight men, though if you're a submissive straight man, or have a bi side, it might appeal.
In any case, it's pretty unique stuff and all of it is imaginative and well performed by generally hot models.
The downsides are largely the standard ones for this studio - downloads are pretty slow (I actually only realised this when I joined other sites from other studios and was astonished at how much faster the downloads were!), site design is basic and chaotic, with illogical layout and non-existent search functions making things unncessary complicated, and whilst the updates come at least once a week and often more, they're not done to a regular schedule.
Plus, the updates are scenes, not full movies. These are often pretty short - 10 minutes or less - and there can be a dozen of more of them to each movie. They tend to only update a couple of movies at a time, so if you don't care for a movie they're currently updating, it could represent half your updates for the next 2 - 3 months!
Technically the movies are about average - the latest, highest-quality WMV files are 960x540, 25f/ps with a bitrate arond 8,300 - though bitrate and size does seem to vary a little. WMV seems the only option, though you do get a selection of file sizes.
The photosets are a bit of a letdown for a site which focuses on pictures more than video - they're large (1100x600) but with only one size and no sets or zips - you download each picture one at a time! They also all have watermarks.
The biggest issue with this site, which has improved slightly but is still not fully resolved, is the photo/video issue. Some stories are photosets only, some have videos. At once point they announced no new videos would be made (see my seperate comment on this). They have since backtracked somewhat, but still some new stories are photoset only, so you never know which you'll get. There is also a horrible sister site called CFNM.TV which contains some of the videos this site only has photosets for, but it's the same price with no discount, uses intrusive DRM which expires downloaded videos when your membership expires, and is never updated.
They seem to have practically abandoned CFNM.TV, but it still exclusively holds some videos of photosets you see on CFNM.net. I have noticed they've started publishing older videos which were once only on CFNM.TV on CFNM.net, without DRM, though as new updates to CFNM.net. This is bit mean as they're not really new and they already publish the photosets, but at least you get to see and download the videos to keep this way without having to join yet another expensive site.
I HOPE they're planning to gradually transfer all CFNM.TV videos onto CFNM.net as "new updates" and then shut CFNM.TV down, but I don't know if they will. They seem to be going in the right direction, but are famous for abrupt policy changes so for all I know they could change their minds again! Once they said they wouldn't release any more of a story because some of it had been published on a file-sharing site, but again seemed to back-down in the face of customer complaints.
To be honest the content is so unique and hot I could almost ignore all the usual techical issues and award this site in the high 80s.
As it is, the confused policy over video prevents me going over the 70s. Whilst they've taken some positive baby-steps to improving since my last membership, which causes me to raise their score from 71 to 75, I can only give this site a qualified recommendation - look the previews and if you agree they are as hot as I think they are, then join but with your eyes wide open as to the flaws.
Interesting question! It's unlikely with me as I tend to prefer amateur sites and don't go in for the big glossy famous porn stars. It's not something I've really thought of before.
On the whole though I think I could still watch them - I watch old TV shows where I know some of my favourite actors have died after all. It makes me a little sad, but it's nice that they left a legacy behind.

I tried it once, downloaded some previews from a mobile site to watch. Difficult to do though - when you're out and about you can't really watch it and when you're at home you want it on a big screen.

Undecided. It has potential but I worry it would just become another gimmick and the porn itself would suffer as a result because they wouldn't have to be as creative with it.
I can't say I get the big deal about 3D in movies - it's been around for decades - I remember seeing a movie in 3D as a kid in the early 80s so why it's seen as such a big deal now I don't really know.
As I recall it was an amazing effect then, with people ducking in their seats as a shark came at them etc.
When I last saw a 3D movie - Up - it was a great movie but I didn't feel the 3D effect really added much. It gave a certain depth the picture but otherwise the glasses just got on my nerves.
