Clement,

I can tell you I hadn't ever heard of Bang Live until I went to echst(dot)net to see who was charging me. I then didn't know it was a cam site until I had to sign in on Bang Live (with the login from Bang) just to try and cancel it. I did list that wrong earlier. From what I can tell the Bang Live account is still active even though I went through the cancellation process. The main problem I've had with it is the email address that you said isn't being used. It was sent to me in an automated response when trying to cancel. I'll include a screenshot if it's allowed.

I'll accept that it could have been hacked.

I have a long history here at Porn Users, 11+ years, 300+ reviews of porn sites and one theme about me that's never changed is I am a collector. Cam sites wouldn't be something I would be interested in. I will accept that I could have clicked on a picture of a hot model thinking it was content but I still think you all have to set something up to send an email when someone joins a site, cam site. Here's the image if it will let me post it:

Hi Clement,

Thanks for the quick response. First off, I did join Vixen and really like the subtle differences that make the content on this site better than many of the more established sites in this niche.

As for the issue I had, cross-checks are rarely beneficial to the purchaser since they are presented as a teaser with the goal of generating additional subscription revenue when the subscriber does not un-check the box or doesn't cancel within the very brief timeframe. Often times, if there is an error in the sign-up process, boxes that have been deliberately unchecked by the subscriber will check-themselves again. This is what I believe happened to me. OK, sure. My bad. But it just adds to the widespread belief that there is nothing good about cross-checks. If I want to join a site, I will go to that site (or look on Porn users for a discount) and sign-up.

In any case, I appreciate your response. It means you care about customer service and want to make sure your site is seen in a positive light. Only the best customer service organizations do that.

Thanks,

Scott

Well, thanks for the reply. Things are working better but I'm not convinced everything is back to normal. HD downloads are not working with my DL manager, meaning that DL speeds take about five times longer.

I'm not a computer whiz nor do I have any clue as to how to run a website, but things like servers getting overloaded seem like a common enough technical problem that shouldn't disable a site for more than 6-12 hours let alone six days.

I think this is a great site that's way ahead of the curve in terms of quality, but the last five or six days seem to be an indication that server capacity is not ready to support these large files. Maybe hold off on converting those old movies to Hi-def until you are sure the servers can support it.

Again the hi-definition is amazing, but it doesn't do any good if it takes 90-120 minutes to enjoy it.

As I wrote, I tested my connection before posting what I did. However, I have updated my comment as promised. For the few days I have been a member, I am happy with the site.

I'll tell you what bugged me: when I was first contacted by Alison I got the stone wall. She said accounts are free but only you can authorize payments so you will not get a refund. It took about two hours last night to get it all sorted, and I can tell you I was bloody ANGRY.

Giving personal details to affiliates without consent is a breach of privacy, and runs a risk of something happening, as it did to me. One more thing that can be hacked and accessed. That is unacceptable in my opinion, and it means you have lost a customer. I have been a subscriber for the last three months and was happy to just let it ride for another few.

In the end, after a big continual effort (it always takes a monumental effort to get something like this sorted, and maybe that is by design) I was helped and told I would get a refund, but I should never have had to waste two hours of my life in the first place.

Hi Clement, I was so happy to see the latest review where it stated that you now update with at least one HD DVD a day. Therefore the latest comment by one of your subscribers really bothers me because I like your site and would actually prefer it to VideoBox if it weren't for the scarcity of HD updates.

I stopped collecting videos that are less than 720p months ago because they don't look great on my monitor and therefore wait breathlessly for you to start outdoing VB when it comes to HD material.. You will really need more updates that meet the tastes and needs of the times because not everyone is content to watch relatively blurry scenes on their monitors, and people will increasingly turn to sites that offer HD on a daily basis. It's probably an expensive proposition, so I don't blame you for being reluctant to do so .. just stating my belief that it will be either regular HD updates or sink! As usual I do wish your site well.

The JM Prod is great news but it would even better if you got access to most of their library. I would recommend you avoid most of the stuff they have relased in the last 3 years. Have you ever looked at maybe getting the movies from Zane Entertainment?

Glad to hear that. I have amended my review to better reflect that actual number of HD titles. I must have screwed up when i was counting them. Do you plan on adding any movies to the Max Hardcore or Puritan studios? Have you ever looked at getting movies from Jm Production? I don't know if any would be available but if they were then that would be great.

As much as some people might be happy with more recent movies. I'm just as happey to see an older titlte because it's one more movie that I used to enjoy that is brought back to life

I am truly confused, Clement. Are you talking about scenes or DVDs? If I had seen 1 HD DVD update a day during May (which I didn't) that would make it 30 DVDs only (not counting tomorrow's update). There were a couple of days where you published more than one HD but there were also plenty of days where you published none. Even when one includes April, your number of 220 HD DVDs added can't be right?? Sorry, I truly don't want to be argumentative but I simply don't see what you seem to see, unless you are talking about not yet published DVDs. I truly have had nothing but good will toward your site and am in no way attempting to belittle what you are doing. I simply can't get my head around those figures you provide since I was a subscriber all throughout May. Sincerely, m.

Sorry, Clement, but you are factually wrong. I re-subscribed to your site for May but do not see any evidence that there was a flood of new HDs. I was going to write a comment to that effect today but why have it look as if I am persecuting your site. There have been many days during this month where there were no HD updates at all and the most HD updates on one day I saw during my current subscription was two!! Because your updates are not dated I could not get a correct amount but I would be willing to bet that there were no more 15 - 20 HD updates. A far cry from what was originally promised. And don't bother locking me out with a refund this time. I only have a day or so left on this subscription. I do like your site, just wish you were a bit more honest about those darn HD DVDs. You may have 450 HD DVDs now but how many did you have at the end of March, the end of April and now the end of this month?

Now that I've been on the site awhile I have to reject your answer on the blurry videos. I've seen some of the videos on here on other sites at much higher quailty. What, did you buy lower res CDs than they did? And why are the clip pictures clear but the videos can't get close to that clarity? Clearly they've just been encoded at a lower res, probably for a day when not many people had broadband. You just haven't chosen to re-encode the CDs for modern viewing.

If you're going to use the high number of videos you have as a selling point, keeping them up to date should go hand and hand with that. I don't expect in 2010 to have 3/4 of the videos with 2005 download resolutions.

Appreciate your quick response, good customer service is so important to many of us, and often a simple explanation (like the DVD's were originally of lower quality) is all I need to feel I'm being dealt with fairly. Getting rid of DRM is also crucial to those of us who enjoy "collecting", not just watching. Thanks!

Offering a refund so you can continue to deceiver others doesn't seem like a worthy trade off. How about if I eat the $18. and see if you

1) Change your site so it no longer indicates that videos that aren't currently available are available

2) put up the videos in 2 weeks like you indicate they will be.

Then perhaps I'll consider changing my review. In the meantime, everyone who reads this has no idea which videos are available and which aren't by the current way you're doing things.

The argument that they're being re-encoded doesn't satisfy the reasoning behind bogusly indicating that the videos are available before you pay. It should say Coming Soon BEFORE people pay as well as after.

Otherwise you are a crook, no matter how hard you try to convince yourself otherwise.

I can't comment on your site because I've never joined, but I think your offer of a refund is very generous. But make no mistake - crooks seem to stay in business very easily, especially in porn. :cough brazzers cough:

Sorry Clement but I didn't pay any attention to the titles after the screens popped up. As I told your support there were enough videos that worked to keep me occupied so I wasn't going to worry about the 10 percent that didn't. I was just curious what the heck was going on, how could this happen after I had signed in and downloaded a few videos already without a hitch.

The one thing (actually two) that got my goat was this: I spelled out very clearly to your support that this happened after I had successfully signed in and then got a response that I should make sure that I look out for capital letters etc. because they might stop me from successfully signing in! Did he read my whole question at all?

When I clicked on reply to state once again that this happened WITHIN the site I got the non-helpful reply that new policy demanded that I go to self-help again and resubmit. I mean here was support reading my reply knowing exactly what I was talking about, knowing that my email was NOT spam yet rather than give me a quick answer he sends me back to self-help!

I do appreciate that you keep an eye on things, so thanks for that and for your courteous explanation.

P.S. I'll start making a list of the videos that give me trouble.

Well, that was my biggest complaint, which I'm happy to hear is being addressed. I know that the old DRM'd content has the security updated to allow unlimited plays, but it is annoying because you can't play the files in any other video player than WMP (i like using VLC, for example).

Other complaints or suggestions? Or concerns?
1) There is a pretty bad job with cast lists and/or labeling videos with actresses...or just wrong names
Forgetting the Girl #3 - the cast list is there, but none of the videos are labeled (e.g. scene 2 is Isabella Soprano)
First Time Swallows #3 - Desiree Storm is incorrectly listed as Desiree Costeau

I don't have a list of all the issues because I'm sure there are hundreds and I don't keep track of them, but they exist, and there is no user-friendly way of reporting problems. To tell you the truth, no DVD site (not VideoBox, not AmericanVice, not DVDBox, etc.) really makes it user friendly to submit problems with listing. You guys should take a page out of Softpedia.com - every page has a button which links to a form to send problems/updates with a particular listing, and each submission is seen as a "ticket" on the other end which goes into a queue to be addressed. I just wish a site would go out of their way to provide such a system...if you go over to VideoBox they have a commenting system and when there is a missing name or an incorrect name there are at least 5 comments saying what is wrong, but I doubt the problem is ever addressed because I don't think VideoBox monitors comments.

2) I wish a site would not just add random volumes from a series, rather be continuous. Every site I come across just add random volumes and the continuity of the series is either lacking or is just the result of running out of volumes to add. In other words, for a series of 10 volumes instead of adding volumes 1 through 10, in order, sites will either add volumes in an order like 2-9-4-3-8-10-1-5-7-6, which eventually results in the complete series, or they just add half the volumes but not necessarily 1 through 5 (maybe like 2-5-7-8-10).
For example, the 100% Blowjobs series has 35 volumes, and VideosZ.com lists only 23 volumes, but not 1 through 23, rather 1-2-3-4-5, 7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14, 16-17-18-19, 22, 25, 30-31, 33-34. The site is missing 6, 15, 20-21, 23-24, 26-27-28-29, 32, 35.

I wish sites would add all volumes from a series, not just selected ones.

3) There seems to be a problem on VideosZ with standardizing titles, something which I saw with the 100% Blowjobs series.
Volumes 19 and 33 are titled "100 Percent Blowjobs xx" (xx = number)
Volumes 16, 22, 25, 31 and 34 are titled "100% Blowjobs #xx"
The other volumes are titled "100% Blowjobs xx"

I think the "100 Percent" in 19 and 33 is a generic mistake (as it should be "100%") but there should be standardization with the volume number; either use the "#" character in all titles, or don't. VideoBox uses the "#" characters in all titles.

I must have been unlucky then, because I did my usual search for porn stars I like - Gauge, Aurora Snow, Cherry Poppins, Donna Marie and the list goes on.... and 95% of those scenes had DRM.
